I am Korean so I know about Korean food. We ordered the rice cake soup with dumplings (Duk mandoo Guk) and the ramen. Tasteless, no beef, undercooked rice logs (not the flat discs) bloated green colored dumplings that had disintegrated from over cooking, half the bowl was sliced onions, and the broth was tasted like the water left in the pot after you boil pasta. Couldn't bother to add a little salt to the broth. For this I paid $18. The ramen was a package ramen (at least I recognized it as a korean brand) with a whole egg that had been so overboiled it was like a brick. For that I got charged $10. No rice (extra $3) no kimchi, just a cup of wilted iceberg lettuce. This place is an embarassment and disservice to the Korean culinary reputation.

I've been to Gyu Kaku only, when looking for Korean bbq. Then a buddy recommended this place. Wow. The beef is perfect, the sauces are spot on, and the saki flows like the nile. Great stuff at this place. We had a bday party and everyone left full and happy...cool place.

I met a friend for lunch in midtown the other day and he took me to Busan. I have only had korean bbq one other time before so this was a great treat for me. The food was terrific, perfect portion sizes, and the staff was attentive without being pushy. Great for a quick lunch. I am sure that it would be good for dinner too!
