I can't get my nails done anywhere other than Valley. Even if I need to come into the city from BK on a Sunday, I do it. Once you've had a dry manicure (meaning, you don't sit with your fingers in a bowl of oddly colored water) there's no turning back! I always leave Valley with perfect fingers and toes (What cuticles?! I have calluses?!) that last longer than any other mani/pedi I've had. And if this weren't enough, Valley is just a great place to sit for an hour.

Pros: A quality experience from start to finish

Cons: Because they are often busy, think ahead and book in advance

A Valley wax is by far the best wax experience I've had in the city. I'd travel anywhere for a wax like this. Is virtually painless, which is saying a lot given how truly painful most bikini waxes are. The new digs on Elizabeth street are cozy and warm, it makes an otherwise very unpleasant experience very pleasant.

Valley is like no other.
The owners are so warm and friendly, and make you feel totally at home.
The staff is highly skilled and super friendly.
The pedicure lasts and lasts.
The music... is always amazing.
The design is brilliant... The whole place radiates a warm, down-home, & cozy feel.
It's the best, all and all.

Pros: The best staff & ambience!

I had my nails done there once, with an application of nail art. The nail tech did an incredible job, but after getting comparable work done at another salon (Sakura nail), I'm afraid I won't be going back to Valley. Sakura's prices for nail art were half of what Valley charged me. Now whether this would always be the case is hard to say, as I got the distinct sense that Valley's charges for nail art are fluid...or rather that the owner just comes up with a random dollar amount.

Prior to my getting the nail art done I'd specifically asked how much it would be if I wanted "say...a little flower and a few crystals on my nail". The owner's reply was (something like) "oh, well depending on whether you select the small or the large crystals, and the amount of stones that is put on each nail, it could be BETWEEN $3-9 per nail."

When my manicure was finally complete and I went to the desk to pay, she said (in a nice way) "...let me see your nails..." and then quoted me a price. The charge for the nail art alone was $26...this was to get a 3-D flower applied to two nails, and to get some stones added to three nails. Compare that to Sakura, where I got a hand-painted flower and vine design on TWO nails, and crystals applied to FOUR nails, for the price of $15. So I got almost the same degree of nail art work done at Sakura, for almost half the price of Valley.

At Sakura I was also offered tea, while nothing was offered at Valley....

Pros: Talented nail techs

Cons: Pricey

LONGEST lasting mani- ever! This coming from a girl who usually sees chips that same day is a BIG deal. The owners are super down to earth so it's a laid-back, cozy spot always full of cool girls with whom I always seem to spark up fun convo. Great services and atmosphere to boot- what more could you ask for?! Well, speaking of boot, definitely check out the
vintage by Portia & Manny who shares the store- yay Valley, good move!

Pros: Best Manicure, waxing, facials and more!

THE CORRECT PHONE NUMBER IS 212-274-8985 - I HAD TO SEARCH FOR THE NUMBER BC CITYSEARCH HAS IT WRONG. I am not the type to spend my time writing these kinds of reviews, but this place is awesome!! My friends kept telling me to get a brazilian at Valley, but i have been loyal to my waxer forever, so it took me a while. Now my only regret is that i didn't take their advice sooner - Valley use the best hard wax and they LISTEN to exactly what you want (ie the shape etc ;-). I go there for my nails now too - their mani/pedi may be more expensive than the corner salon, but it lasts 3 times as long!! I seriously have to get sick of the color to get my nails done again -it is so thorough, and with the cheapy corner salons you need another mani in two days, so i say check out Valley!

OK, I have been getting waxed and nailed for years, but this is the best I have ever had in both categories! This place is a total find. I had read about them a few times on Daily Candy, Lucky and several other places, so decided to make the trek from the UWS to the LES to see what all the hype was about. SO worth it. The Brazilian Wax I had was truly the best ever, and I've done it all over the world. The wax was gentle and the technician was calming and meticulous. Then I got my nails done and no joke, my manicure lasted over a week! Not even a chip! I went back the next time and treated myself to the Japanese nail art that they do there, and it was amazing, like a full on art exhibit on my nails...so awesome. Oh, and did I mention the clothing is fantastic...For real, this place is so great - get there. Oh, and a side note, it is owned by two sisters who were so hospitable, and they have both been there every time I"ve gone, so not only do I always feel welcome (they greet me by name) I know this place is well taken care of.

Pros: Ambience, Customer Service, Beauty Services

Started going to Valley just a few months ago for a bare Brazilian hard wax. I was the first appointment on a Saturday, and was there a bit earlier than expected. Even though the door was still locked, I was welcomed in by one of the owners, and told that it would just be a few minutes for them to get set up. This gave me time to peruse the great jewelry and clothing that are housed in the front of the shop. When time, I was led down to the waxing rooms and met the technician who is more knowledgeable in her craft than any I have met thus far. We chatted through the entire appointment, and I was surprised that it was all over so quickly, and much less painfully than my past experiences. The staff is so friendly and welcoming, once you go I cannot imagine not wanting to go back.

Pros: Staff, Service
