Kati, you've been wonderful throughout it all. I know there must be so many more things that you deal with on our behalf, and I thank you sincerely for all that you do. And you do it so gracefully and well. Every day we look around in disbelief at our beautiful home that you've helped us bring to realization. We believe we could implicitly trust a New York City interior designer who can draw: such as Kati Curtis of Nirmada Interior Architecture & Design. Here??s an interior designer who??s also an artist and a painter, able to present designs through hand drawings and computer sketches.
What is actually so trustworthy about this is that it reflects a healthy combination of technology and good old tradition. And that??s not to say that the interior designs themselves look old ?? rather, they??re completely modern. And, as Curtis is an Energy Efficient Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP), they??re sustainable, too.
Nirmada Interior Architecture & Design operates according to a process that??s reminiscent of that used by general contractors, including recommendations for suppliers and manufacturers, team management and environmentally-conscious product selection. There??s also part of it that??s pure design: ??protect your personal space,? ??guard your privacy? and ??treat you like a close friend or family member.?

Kati's team at Nirmada worked with us over a seven-month, grueling residential renovation involving stripping 100 years (literally!) of paint off all the woodwork throughout the apartment, repairing ancient but beautiful floors, and making everything work between old and newer elements.

Kati was always responsive, working as a thoughtful buffer between us and the contractor. Her choices of rugs, window treatments, ceiling fixtures, bedding, wall colors et al were tasteful and moreover, reflected our specific tastes and style preferences, rather than imposing hers on us.

We own and manage a number of buildings in Manhattan. Kati Curtis has helped us renovate the lobbies in our buildings. I had the pleasure of working with Kati Curtis in early 2009 on a design plan for my condominium in west midtown. Kati had excellent recommendations for furniture, color schemes, wall coverings, and window treatments. Unlike other designers I??ve worked with, Kati was willing to incorporate specific pieces of existing furniture and she customized the design to my likes and personality. In addition, she has integrity and met all the time lines for the project. After I implemented many of her suggestions, my visitors oftentimes gush with compliments on the design and frequently will ask where I bought things and if I did it myself.
I enthusiastically recommend Kati for residential design.

Kati Curtis and her team at Nirmada have made the entire process of designing/decorating my new home effortless and enjoyable for several reasons: Kati really listens to what the client's goals and tastes are and considers that throughout the entire process (she very accurately perceived what my tastes were and presented numerous ideas/options); she offers her ideas as well as remains open to any changes the client may want; she is completely upfront as to cost and timing; always aware of the client's budget, and she and her team are completely accountable in terms of sticking to deadlines and responding to questions/concerns immediately. Kati has also been an outstanding project manager by coordinating/monitoring the work of other vendors as well as holding them to standards/deadlines. It's been a pleasure to work with Kati and her team and also a relief to be able to trust that the home we spent so much time/effort finding will be a beautiful place we will love coming home to!

Kati Curtis is the most talented designer I've ever worked with. She has a wonderful sense of space, and can make a 1,000 square foot apartment feel like the perfect home. She makes sure that each room fits my needs and lifestyle - she can make a platform bed do double duty as a living room sofa and an industrial chef prep table work as a chic countertop and kitchen table. And with Kati, I can take for granted that everything will look fabulous in the end.
