Anxious to try "Best Pizza in Atlanta." Unbelievably overrated! $50.00 for a pizza and a calzone that over 50% of it was left. Most of the pizza and the calzone were dough - which was not completely cooked. Save your money and buy Papa

We lived in Naples, Italy for over 3 years. Antico's is like going back there. The buffalo mozzerella, sweet spicy peppers, Italian sausage with olive oil on top is like heaven to a pizza lover. I like all pizza - top of the food

Phenomenal! Environment may have been at least half of my happiness while I was there. BYOB! Get a seat before you order your pizza, it comes fast!

Knowing the "no additions/substitutions/changes" rule at this establishment, we carefully selected our pizza from the offerings listed on the menu and because of ingredients. When the pizza was delivered without one of the ingredients

Love their pizza and even though you have to wait forever to order it is totally worth it! Also a nice touch that you can bring your own alcohol!

Antico has really good pizza, but the seating is pretty limited. I work right down the road at the package store and eat there on a pretty regular basis. I really like the pizza because they have great flavor and taste fresh.I like to get there when they open and usually do pick up because it can get real cramped real fast. Not to mention the noise level goes up exponentially. The parking is pretty limited. All of the pizzas have good ingredients that come from Italy. I see a few postings saying the pizza is greasy, but I think it's just the olive oil they pour on the pizza when it comes out of the oven. Some people just don't pay attention. They also have some pretty good cannolis, but they're not the main attraction. I like the fact that they offer what is on the menu and that's it. They're pretty busy and it keeps the line moving. So man up and quit your bitchin that they won't do your special order. All in all I would recommend that everyone try the pizza here at least once.

Man, all this place did was show up in town with a greasy, half-assed pizza and pay some PR firm to post a bunch of positive reviews on the web. Go ahead and go one time to see for yourself. It sucks. The dine-in experience is god-awful (there's about four tables and three of them are in the kitchen), the pizza is greasy and overpriced (I paid $30 for a pepperoni pizza and two waters). There is nothing here worth praising, and there are far too many decent pizza places in Atlanta to even bother with this pretentious, overpriced pit stain of a pizza joint.

After first trying the pizza on a whim after reading about it on cnn I am absolutely hooked on what is quite possibly the best pizza in Atlanta. Conveniently located in MIdtown just off of 14th street and blocks from the GA Tech campus. There is plenty of free parking, and a parking attendant at night on busy nights to maintain order during crowded times.

For spice lovers, the Diavaola pizza is absolutely divine. Liberally covered with some of the most flavorful spicy red peppers I've ever tasted, the combination of cheese, peppers, and spicy pepperoni make for a heavenly combination.

A must try!

I don't get why people are loving this place. The pizza was just eh. The parking was a nightmare. There is barely any seating and no order to who gets to sit no matter how long you've been waiting. I simply don't get it. I think it's just a matter that it's a new restaurant and it's overblown.

Sorry Varsananos, but I tried your pizza that you claim to "The Best" and I just don't agree. Antico Pizza is not only the best pizza in Atlanta, but the best pizza I have ever had. My mother and grandmother from New York also agree, as well as all of my Atlanta friends. What a perfectly delicious crust and those marinated cherry peppers, spicy meats and everything else is making my mouth water right now. I love that I can bring my own wine and I can't wait to go back again and again. One last word, YUM!

It was so good we went back the next day! Yep, two days in a row! It's a no-nonsense pizza joint with perfect pies. No alcohol? No problem, bring your own. No fancy plates or cloth napkins? Who cares? It's the pizza you should be giong for! No, it's not Fritti (thankfully) and their music is not as annoying as Fritti's either. Lactose intolerant? Eat sushi!

My husband and I love this place. They food is awesome and we can bring in a glass of wine and enjoy our date nights. They aren't very flexible on the toppings buy we like the pizza so this isn't a big deal. The only thing we don't like is that they sometimes run out of ingredients and can't make pizzas. Oh well, we like the place and will take our chances.

I went last weekend with friends and had fun. Food was delicious. I took my kids for the fun atmosphere but I was so sad. We found seats at the table but company was very unfriendly and exclusive. Cooking staff just sitting and watching. Our pizza arrived and the crust was half uncooked - doughy. Luckily kids didn't notice. I was disappointed and think that the cooks perform if there is a crowd but not for a quiet night.

I suppose I could begin by saying it is without a doubt, the king of pizza joints in Atlanta. Take my word for it. But I want to detail just how cool and special this place is. A massive, sparse warehouse space houses the mammoth ovens and busy pizza chefs scurrying around and sliding the perfectly-charred pies onto silver trays serving as plates. Diners choosing to eat in should scope out the first-come first-serve dining room (which doubles as a stock and prep room) where they will find a large butcher block table with stools. Don't be bashful and strike up a convo with your neighbor, as they will be as eager to gush about the perfect pies as you will be. Take one of the amazing cannoli to go - and just try to make it home without diving into the bag.

Classic example of over-hype. The pizza is good, but nothing out of the ordinary, and a little on the greasy side. The one star rating comes from the attitude and the vibe of the place. The owner and the staff, all italian, clearly think they are hot shit. They will not accommodate any request to tweak ingredients on any pie ("who are you, the paying customer, to decide what should go on your pizza? lactose intolerant? tough shit, eat this cheese!"). They don't have plates or utensils either. Just rolls of cheap paper. A couple of tables in the kitchen, not enough chairs and super loud music just to make the experience even more miserable. If you have to go, do take out only, but frankly, why bother when you could go to Fritti instead? You will save money and eat much better pizza in a real restaurant

When Antico first opened, you could come in... get your pie... stand around a big table and enjoy it with a few friends and new dining neighbors. Now? Forget about it. Lines go out the door on the weekend, when you get you pizza it's hard to find a place to sit (there's not formal dining room if you haven't been reading up on this place) and the quality is just a little more inconsistent since it first opened.

Perhaps I'm just jaded because I had the pleasure of going the first week it opened, or because I could go at any time and know I'd have a place to sit and have the owner come by and say hello. But it's now like you have to WORK for your pizza. Stand in line to get in the door, stand in line to order your pizza, stand in line to get your pizza, search for a place to sit or stand. Part of the charm IS the entire set-up of the place, but I've had multiple opportunities to go back lately, and haven't because I honestly didn't want to deal with the crowds. Good for them, bad for me.

If Antico had a corporate mission it would probably be (in my best awful Italian accent), "We make-a-da pizza! Where you eat-a-da pizza? That's...how you say....ah yes....your problem." This is a create-your-own dining experience, and if you come during peak times, don't bank on getting a chair either. Luckily, this pizza is just as good standing - trust me, I've had it both ways.

If Varasano's set a new standard for pizza in Atlanta, Antico inched the bar up a little higher. The crust, the sauce, the cheese, and the toppings are all as fresh and delicious as I've ever had.

Bottom line: Don't take your honey there on a special occasion if you're hoping for an intimate dining experience. Instead, take a small group of friends, some beers and/or a bottle of wine or two, an open mind, and enjoy the best pizza you'll find in Atlanta. Then leave so I can have some room at a table!

As Atlanta's pizza wars continue, Antica on the Westside has turned things upside down, or should I just say "Great Stand Up" Pizza. Walk in, no tables, just wall mounted leaning spots! Fun, eclectic, and damn good pizza. The char and crispness, is perfect. And the toppings are nothing short of fresh. A new communal table has just been installed in the kitchen, and their motto is "Serving To The Dough, Runs Out!
