December 21, 2009 - Likes it - I have lived in SE Asia for 10 years, and was amazed at how authentic Thai Chilli's cooking is.

Unlike many Asian restaurants that water down the food to American tastes, this place has food as what you would find in the streets and hawker stalls of Bangkok.

Spiciness can be tailored to guests' requirements. On a scale of 1-5 (5 being very spicy), 4 will leave your mouth tingling. They can (and do) "Thai spicy" when I ask for it.

Recommended dish not on the menu is Papaya Salad (julienned papaya, peanuts, lime juice, other spices mixed with a pestal and mortor). Other recommendations: Beef Salad, Tom Yam Soup (w/ chicken), Larb, Spicy Basil Chicken, Red Curry or Penang Curry w/ chicken or duck.Pricing is actually reasonable and competitive, given that the ingredients are all freshly bought from SE Asian importat stores (and again what you'd find if you were in Asia eating Thai food).

If you compare to many Chinese restaurants, Thai Chill's prices are at least $2-3.00 less per entree.Recommend eating at the restaurant and getting to know the owners, who are originally from Thailand and Cambodia, and their chef is from Laos (but trained by the owner's wife on Thai cooking -- Thai and Lao food are similar in many ways).

Very friendly owners/staff, mom-and-pop style restaurant. Decorated quite nicely with many cultural items, handwoven table clothes, and other things from Thailand.

Since there is so little Thai food in the Cleveland area (particularly on the West Side), this would make a great item for office parties, home catering, special events (Super Bowl Party), etc.
