I had a fabulous experience of a Massage and Facial combination at Green Tea 38 Spa.
Massage was Good Facial was great, with very economical charges. This is a new Spa in our neighborhood. Location is very convenient and accessible by all public transit.
This is not a very big and fancy Spa but services qualty is great. Place is small with big hearted pros, and they know their job very well.
I am going back this place as often as I can afford.

Other day I over worked and end up with severe Back pain. I can not move my upper body freely cause lower back pain was killing me .I went to Green tea Spa for Acupuncture, I explain my whole situation to my Acupuncturist. She was so kind to listen and understand my situation and severity of pain. She suggested a ninety minutes treatment of Acupuncture and massage. My session lasted total ninety minutes, sixty minutes of Acupuncture treatment and thirty minutes of Massage. Right after the treatment my pain was almost gone and came out as a new person thanks to green tea spa. Over and above their fee is much more less than reasonable.
I am always a strong believer of Acupuncture treatment and it always work for me the only thing you have to find a real professional. Here at green tea you can find one.
Thanks Green Tea Spa.

I only read the reviews without checking the dates. This place is very close to work so I tried it out. I believe there 1/2 hour massage rate is 50$. Not bad for this area except it looks super dirty and service was horrible. Never EVER will I step into that place. I also didn't like how it's not on the 1st floor.

Definitely I agree with the general reviewers: this is a clean- if not totally luxurious- place to get a great massage at a very reasonable price. This was an amazing experience receiving a professional massage. The pressure was just enough for me to feel it and not feel pain, but not so much that it was uncomfortable. This place is amazing. Way more than I expected for what I paid. The prices really can?t be beat.

I feel so lucky that I found this spa, here at green tea spa I learned a lot about facial type because they not only provide you services they educate you, they inform you about your skin type and advise you what kind of treatment is right for your skin type. I have very dry skin so they used the right amount and right time to steam my face to open up the pours, a good French cream and a perfect mask made my whole facial presses smooth and pain free, they use high quality French cream and organic stuff which is so great and harmless for skin. My face looks great and I feel so good that I found a perfect spa.

Now a day?s especially in this economic turmoil spa treatment seems to be a luxury, but not at Green tea spa. I got here a Ninety minute full body Massage and Facial under one hundred bucks which is unbelievable, this was a luxurious treatment. I felt so fresh and new after the session.
Service quality is wonderful, staff is courteous, prices are ridiculously low and environment is great.

Other day I made an appointment and had a 60 minutes session of Thai Yoga Massage.
This was the best Thai Yoga Massage I ever had. Folk are very friendly; especially front desk person was so knowledge full about her profession. Spa is small but very clean, rates no one can beat.
I will be visiting this spa definitely again and again.

This is not a real spa. When you enter you find yourself in a studio apartment with bed sheets dividing the room and a front desk in the middle.

Two small stools in an aisle serve as the waiting area. Despite having a reservation I waited 25 minutes to be seen. During those 25 minutes I could see two different people being massaged, as the curtains were frequently not closed for people's privacy.

You can hear everyone's massage or conversation. The phone at the front desk rang the entire time, so you have to listen to every appointment that is made. The woman getting a massage on the opposite side of the sheet next to me ordered three separate treatments, but they only gave her one. For 20 minutes everyone in the studio had to listen to them try to explain why 2.5 hours of services were combined into an hour for the same price. The woman was polite but paid for an hour and left. The entire time staff were screaming at each other in Chinese.

I have never wished for a massage to end before, but I found myself debating if I could leave mid-way through without causing an argument.

To finish the experience they couldn't get their credit card machine to work, so we paid cash just to get out of there.

I went to the Green Tea 38 Spa and Massage yesterday, I had previously made an appointment for a hot-stone massage because a had a gift certificate for the Spa-Week.

The first thing, this is not a spa, it's just a room with dividers with very little space to put your clothes or shoes, no privacy at all. I've already been in some chinese places to get a massage and they're all like these, which I don't care if the service they offer is good, so although at first I was a bit disappointed about the appearance of the place I said to myself: it's OK, sure the massages are really good, that's what really matters.

Wrong! the first half of the massage was just a regular massage, no stones at all, but it was painful! even when I told the masseuse to do it softer, she answered "yes, yes" but totally ignored me. After half and hour of suffering I finally heard her preparing the stones and I thought: great! the pain is over! but oh my god, the stones were in boiling water, the masseuse absolutely burned my skin all over my body several times. Besides, she was not putting the stones in strategic places of my back gently, as it's supposed to be, she was just rubbing my skin roughly. I was just counting the minutes to get to the end and leave that place.

The "best" part however happened when I proceeded to pay. I gave the gift certificate for the Spa Week and they said they didn't accept those certificates. I couldn't believe it! I asked why (when I called to make the appointment for the massage I specified it was for the Spa Week and they said that was fine) they started to explain different things that didn't make any sense at all. I was so upset that I just wanted to leave that place and never come back, so I paid $50 and now I have a certificate for the spa week that I'll never use because the spa week finishes today and as you can imagine after that experience I don't really feel like going for another massage right now.

Even greater... this morning I looked myself on the mirror and I discovered several pink-purple spots, like bruises, on my back skin. Surprise! ouffff... Please don' t go to this place, never-ever!

Me and a couple of friends decided to try the hot stone massage at Green Tea 38 Spa during spa week. What a waste... The beauty of Spa week is that you can get a usually high priced spa service for only 50 dollars. What we got was a Chinese massage + hot stone body rubbing that was definitely not worth more than 50 dollars.

As soon as you arrive you realize that this "spa" is just the typical Chinese massage place: one small room, curtains dividing the space, not even a lobby to seat while you wait. But, we thought, if this place has 5 stars on Citysearch that must mean the massage is really good.

As I took off my shoes to get ready, I realized that the carpet floor was wet and my socks got soaked guaranteeing me an unpleasant ride home. Then, the massage started as a regular Chinese massage and that was actually the best part of it (although not all the masseuses are good since one of my friends left in pain while going in with no pain). About 30 min into the massage they finally bring in the stones. Hot stones. REALLY hot. Although I like hot I don't like to get burned and that was what happened. I had to pull away 3 or 4 times because the stones were so ridiculously hot. And instead of being "Placed on key meridian points on the back" to "increase energy and push out unwanted toxins", as advertised on their site, they just rub you full speed and full force up and down your body with the burning stones. That relaxing image of a smiling lady with several stones placed along her spine doesn't happen here. And it wouldn't happen in any case since the masseuses are often talking between themselves to the point that they even sometimes interrupt the massage to attend to their colleagues, ruining the atmosphere and the massage.

Bottom line, if you're looking for a Chinese massage this place may be OK (if you get one of the good masseuses), but for a hot stone massage, forget it.

So I saw a five star rating and ridiculously low prices on the website, worth a try right? Well the place is a hole in the wall. The massage tables are separated by an Asian style room dividers and curtains. I have been to places like this before for massages. The massage was great, not the best I've had, but for $50 it was excellent. The facial, not so much. She steamed me for less than 5 minutes and used a lancet on my face for extractions. The problem I have with that is not only is it ineffective but it hurts. I'd rather have someone squeezing at my face and get results. But like I said I wasn't expecting much. For everything it came to $98 so I am not in tears over it. Overall, if you want a massage and don't mind a small place like that, go for it.

I had a facial yesterday at Green tea spa. They are so caring, from the booking process to how you're greeted at the front desk, from the start to the finish of a facial, customer is the focus, and that was the best part of my visit to green tea spa,
Place is clean and looks very hygienic, the location is great in that you can stop by after a day of work or shopping. Making appointment is very easy I made mine an hour before.
I had a deep cleansing facial which was positively perfect, after the facial my face was glowing, radiant, smooth, and fresh. I have gotten so many compliments on my skin so for. It was the best facial experience in Midtown

Yesterday I was just passing by on 38th street I saw a sign of a new spa in my neighborhood. I decided to give a try. The moment I enter I was pleased to find this place very warm and cozy, looks like place is newly renovated, very neat and clean with very friendly folks. I also find out they have 10% Grand Opening Discount with variety of Massage and Spa services. So I had sixty minutes THI YOGA MASSAGE. Massage was amazing I came out with very Relaxed and loose muscles. With all the discount tax and tips it cost me very little compare to my neighborhood expensive prices.
