Any company that won't itemize -- show parts and labor costs -- has got problems to start off with. This used to be Scott's AC but the name change and I wonder why. The prices are very high and this is masked by what they call their a la cart pricing. That's an excuse to pad wherever they can.
This is based on two service calls just shy of two months apart:
In the first, my condenser's contact was burned out or not working. It took less than five minutes to replace. The repairman tried to sell me a thermostat also, even though it is about six years old and works fine. I explained to him it was a bit loose from the wall because the previous installer used masonry screws instead of the kind for the drywall in a frame house. Replacing the contact cost $184.
That repairman also made a big issue of saying my AC was old and on its way out etc. and I got the impression he really wanted to sell a new one. He never mentioned that the real need was a new DRC cap. Failing to inform or assess almost was sure to cause problems down the road, and it did.
My DRC cap then needed to be replaced and the unit was not kicking on. This was less than two months later. i asked the next repairman why didn't the first one say something about this -- not the thermostat?
He charged $341 for a DRC cap, and then wanted the same for a "start kit" -- not even a discount for getting essentially a duplicate item. These are people who have no conscience. I could not get the start kit, my neighbor did price them and for my Trane AC they run about $40. So all the $300 was for labor? Wow. It took him about ten minutes if that.
I spoke with Scott, who I presume is the owner. He said I was lucky they didn't charge me a service call. I told him that at those prices, I assume the service fee is built in and he said no. That is very arrogant.
I wonder why they changed their name.
Why won't they itemize? Why charge so much? Oh they have special "club" pricing but that is to get people to pay for some monthly charge so either way Scott's One Hour customers are paying a lot of money and I don't think their techs are any better.
The second tech spelled gloom and doom for my unit. Both of them said there was NO warrany on the work.
No itemizing, No warranty and NO decency in pricing if you get a second DRC cap (start kit) which is just good business -- if you want steady customers.
They did arrive in the time frame. I wish I had just read reviews online and waited. Other listings have this outfit at mostly one with a few two stars.
Keep reading down, check by date. I think there is a tendency to put glowing reviews up front and bury the unhappy ones.
Oh the serviceman also said i needed a new fan motor -- $516. You cannot know when a motor will go out. Motors can last years, decades a new one can go out. Without standing behind their work -- offering a warranty -- you have high fees, info you can't trust and tough luck if it fails. Do yourself a favor and call someone else.

WAY OVERPRICED ?? AC was out 90 degrees in the house. Gave them a call, $69 service fee, not bad.
I basically knew what the problem was before he showed up. Run Cap on compress was bad. I Googled it and found the part for $11. I just wanted it fixed quickly because I have a newborn sweating at home.
Technician came out and did an inspection and came up with a list of problems totaling over $3000. For that price I could replace the whole outside unit.

They have this stupid pricing tier system.
Tier 1 = $184 for every part they clean or adjust.
Tier 2 = $341 for every minor part they repair, replace or install.
And it goes up from there $516 / $841 / $1371

So I told the tech to just replace the Run Cap and Start Kit ($341 X 2 = $682).
It took him 10 minutes to do the job.
How hard is it to pull off a few wires that have connectors and plug in the new part? If you can change batteries in a flash light you could do this job.
Then they try to sell you on this protection plan for $250/year so I can save $100 on this bill. I don??t think so.
After I payed the $712 bill the tech tells me you are a pound low on Freon. I ask how much? That??s a tier 2 service $341. I then basically told him to get out!!!
I let everyone I know to stay away from these guys.
