I see why they have such shoddy reputations. I see why they are not accredited by the BBB. I see why they scoffed when you tell them you will take them to small claim court. They already have your deposit to invest in court fees while you'll be out some more.

All of them are on the same level of deceit (yes, their general manager is the worst because he's in a position to do better but doesn't). They are masters at two face and have no qualm tricking you. You'll waste your time or worst your money.

Fact is it's easy to promise everything but when you're not interested anymore they simply don't care. There are far too many car dealership to waste your breathe on this one.

Tips:
Do not let them hold onto anything. They will not release it because its leverage to force you to come back.
If for some unknown reason you decide to buy a car here. Read the purchase slip and you'll see a few hidden fees. Don't forget to question them about that.
Also, if they ask you to initial something. It's usually is to blow responsibilities while ripping you off.

I cannot say enough about the staff at Atamian. This the second car I have purchased from them and I could not be happier. They gave me an excellent value on my trade and worked diligently to get the exact car I was looking for. From the Sales Rep, to the finance guys, to the General Sales Manager, every one was amazing. I have referred friends here for years and will continue to do so!

I have been buying cars for 30 years now , I have bought from alot of dirt balls in my day and I have read these reviews on this page and know that there are always customers who won't be happy with there price or trade but I have to say that after dealing with Kevin Cregg from Atamian Honda I will never buy anywhere else he is a True Professional and a Good Guy..I went into the Dealership to buy a New Ridgeline and was met on the lot by him he never once told me was a Sales Manager but treated me very Professional he asked me what it was he could help me accomplish today and I told him I was there to look at Trucks I was a little pushy I have to admit but he never lost his composure with me and he continued to answer my questions , he let me Drive the Ridgeline RT and when I cme back he greeted me again and we sat and put together a Great Buying Experience , I never felt in my 30 years of buying that I felt more comfortable in buying and I did , they also got me a Great interest rate that day...Thanks Kevin I appreciate your honesty and Integrity ..Your Friend Vincent

Do not buy a car here!! Dishonest, cheating, liars. I can't understand why they are even in business, it's a scam from the first second you show up. They will employ every under-handed tatic you can imagine, you will get ripped off buying from them. Stay away!! Nothing is worth the misery of doing business with Atamian; car switches, hidden fee's and costs, just outright thieves!! Please, I learned the hard way, you don't need to go through this.

I had a bad experience with Atamian Honda. Based on my only interaction with Atamian Honda, my advice is that you cannot trust what they tell you (either as a result of incompetence, duplicity, or both on their part).

I present the facts of my story, and you can judge how it reflects on Atamian Honda.

I was in the market for a Honda Fit. The trim and color I wanted was in short supply in the state of Massachusetts, and there was a special low-APR financing deal from Honda that was soon to expire.

I was searching the online inventories of Honda dealers across the state and calling those with the model I wanted to get price quotes. I solicited a quote from Atamian Honda via their internet sales department and began a series of phone negotiations. Atamian Honda called me several times and gave me a very competitive quote on a Honda Fit that they would shortly be receiving (it wasn't yet on the lot was but was in transit and just a few days away from delivery). Being naturally wary of car dealers, I tried my best to make sure I was getting the fully story. I live over 2 hours away from Tewksbury, MA, and I didn't want to drive all the way into the dealership to find out that the offer I'd negotiated over the phone was not the final deal I could sign. I had Atamian Honda write up, sign, and fax me a detailed quote. I asked repeatedly in my phone calls to the dealer whether I could take advantage of Honda's special low-APR financing deal on this particular vehicle in question and was consistently assured that I could. In fact, the dealer pressed me to come in asap before the special financing offer expired so that I might do just that.

On the final evening of Honda's special low-APR financing deal period, I left work early and drove over 2 hours to Atamian Honda with my signed price quote in hand relatively confident that I'd secured a good deal on my Honda Fit. Shortly after I arrived, I was told by the salesperson that, while they could sell me the Honda Fit that evening whose price I'd been negotiating with them on the phone, I couldn't take advantage of Honda's special low-APR financing deal because the car wasn't actually on the lot yet. This was an unfortunate wrinkle that effectively added about $800 in financing costs beyond what I'd been promised repeatedly over the phone. Of course, Atamian Honda said that they'd be glad to sell me one of the more expensive trim models that they had on the lot at the favorable APR, but I didn't need to drive across the whole state to find that deal. My salesperson apologized that they'd made this "mistake" (saying that the internet sales guy was new to that role [though I know he's been at the dealership for a while, so he should still have known better]). I suggested that they could keep me happy (keeping me happy would have avoided my having to write this negative review) by selling me the car at their "breakeven cost" (i.e., dealer invoice minus dealer hold back) to compensate for their unfortunate "mistake" and my having driven across the state to their showroom under false pretenses. If they'd taken me up on this offer, I still would have paid about $400 more than they'd led me to believe taking into account financing costs, but, considering my alternatives, it still would have been worth it to me. They declined this offer, and I walked out. I think I'll probably end up paying more for a different model somewhere else, but I wasn't about to give this dealership my business. I'd rather pay more to a dealer that won't jerk me around (purposely or mistakenly).

So what was the root of my problem with Atamian Honda? Were they incompetent (did they really not know they were repeatedly telling me they could give me a financing deal that they couldn't?) or were they just lying to me the whole time (e.g., to get me into the show room at which point they figured I'd buy just be resigned to buying something)?

Later, when confronted about this "mistake," the Atamian Honda internet sales manager insisted that the "fine print" on his signed quote had indicated that the offer was only good on vehicles "in stock" which apparently did not include vehicles that were listed in Atamian Honda's online inventory but which were still "in transit." Of course, this guy somehow managed to talk to me at least a half dozen times on the phone about this very "in transit" vehicle without mentioning this and wrote up, signed, and faxed me a detailed price quote for the "in transit" vehicle without mentioning that the "fine print" on the quote essentially meant that the quote did not apply to the "in transit" vehicle in question.

Throughout my interaction with Atamian Honda, I had this nagging sense that I couldn't trust them (a stronger such feeling than I get from most car dealers). As such, I tried very carefully to ask about everything I could think of in my phone conversations and to get the key stuff in writing. In the end, I still didn't get my deal.

After having shopped 3 other local car dealers I finally made my way back to Atamian VW Honda and got the best deal from my old friend Terry Atamian. Its been years since I had driven a Honda . I was so happy to see that Terry Atamian still has the best people working with him . It was like I had never left. I bought my 1st new car from Terry Atamian in the late 80's . He was such a pleasure to deal with then and it has only gotten better. The selection of Accords was great . I got to pick the color I wanted with the V6 engine that my husband just had to have . I would have preferred the smaller engine for the better gas mileage but that just wasn't going to happen . Terry Atamian came right over to us and remembered me from years ago . As soon as he introduced me to Jim Tringale I remembered that Jim had sold me a used car for our son 6 or 7 years ago . It was old home time all over again. This place really makes you feel like you are apart of there family. Jim went through all the features and once again was apleasure to deal with . I think he has been there 20 years or so. Thats a long time for this type of business. Well I have to tell you agian this place rocks. I am so glad that we went back to driving a Honda and Atamian Honda is the only place to buy your new Honda.

After having just left Atamian VW with the 5th new VW that I bought from Terry Atamian i felt compelled to write and tell everyone how nice it is to be treated like family. Terry Atamian has always gone out of his way to make sure that both myself and my son were taken care of like family. We have been customers of Atamia VW Honda since the early 80's and has been a pleasure everytime we go to Atamian VW Honda either for service or to purchase a new or used car. Today was no exception. Once again we were treated like family. Thank you Terry Atamian and yes we do Love Atamian ! 3/15 I just had to go back to get a tire fixed ( i hit a curb in the snow we got the other day ) and I just have to thank Terry Atamian again for how he always helps me out . This man has always been the most kindest individual I have ever known . I mentioned to him about the Claddagh Fund and what great work they do and what did Terry Atamian do ? He wrote a check to them after he researched the work that Ken Casey has done. He also gave me tickets to Family Fun day which is a Genesis Fund event taking place in my home town at the end of April. Thank you Terry Atamian for all that you do for so many people . Your life has touched so many in such a warm way. My kids can't wait for Family Fun Day April 30th. I love my new car !

I just had to write in about what a great deal I just got from Atamian Honda / VW. The internet department with Bill was buzzing with excitement. I had to look twice at the email Bill sent me with the lowest price by over $400 from 3 other stores in the area. Bill even went as far as to get me the color I wanted and delivered it to me at my office. The whole experience at Atam ian was wonderful. I have been servicing my car at Atamian fro over 2 years and they knew the maintenance that I had done to my old car and they were able to give me more for my trade even after they beat all my other offers. There was never any pressure to buy just a family atmosphere all around . The feeling i got at 2 other stores made my stomach upset but everytime I go to Atamian I am relaxed and feel like I am with friends. I love Atamian !

I went to Atamian to lease a new CRV and it went very well. I tried them first because I was trading a VW CC and well they have both Honda and VW. It took me a few hours but in the end I drove out with the new CRV for my wife. I worked with Steve R and one of the finance managers and I couldnt be happier!

I am very pleased with Atamian Honda and today I took delivery of my 4th new Honda Accord and I have bought them all from Terry Atamian. The place is 1st class from the owner to the guy out on the lot who even went and ran an errand for me while I was waiting to get my new car cleaned. Terry Atamian even went and introduced me to all the other departments and his nephew whom I already knew because he serviced my last 2 Accords I bought from Terry Atamian. I love my new Accord so much I have to tell everyone what a great place Atamian Honda is.

Recommend this dealer? No Purchased a vehicle from this dealer? No, Poor experience with dealer personnel
Atamian Motors

I had an unbelievable experience with this dealership over the past two days. Day one I started with getting a a pre-negotiated price through USAA bank for a 2010 TDI (500 under invoice). The dealer agreed to honor it. I brought in my trade which is an 09 Jetta SE. KBB has a trade in value of 13,900 and their first offer was 10,500. After calling out the used car guy he came up to 11,000, yup....a whole 500!!! I understand they don't use KBB but it's not a bad start for us consumers. The salesman actually challenged me by looking up to verify the KBB estimate. John...you didn't believe me? I left at that point. The next day I was emailed by the internet sales guy(not a bad guy and at least he has some people skills). After some going back and forth they came up to 12,000. Still too far off but I agreed to close the deal. Still think I'm not being flexible John? After work I called the salesman to let him know I have the title at home. He told me they will need the title in order to drive it away. I drove 30 minutes home and 30 back. I verbally confirmed the deal we made again. We filled out the finance app and he told me that I'll have to bring a paper back from the registry after getting it done. He says "we're not supposed to but we'll be able to make it happen anyways". Silly me, I should have questioned that one. When I arrived John and I went to get a coffee upstairs and he was acting like a human being. We talked for a bit then he got paged. He put a video on the computer about paint, I was not interested so I got up to look at the other cars in the show room. He clearly knows I wasn't interested in it before even putting it on, I told him I don't want any extras....that crap just jacks up the price for no reason. It showed Model T Ford with black paint then went on talking about how paint today isn't as tough but it's good for the environment so buy our product to protect your car!!! What? 80 years later their paint quality is worse, and they're admitting to it? John came out and asked me how the video was going, in a smart guy tone. I was across the showroom, how do you think the video was going? I was greeted by the finance guy, not a bad guy either. I explained to him that I don't want the extras and he quickly went over them and I signed the waiver....pretty painless and I thanked him for doing so. After signing he told me I couldn't drive it because the "notary went home at 5:30pm". You didn't know that when I was on my way in at 6:00pm John? Really? I told the finance guy that sales guy is going to hold his end of the bargain. Sales guy asked if I wanted to end the deal. I replied yes I do. His reply is great as he's walking away....."you're a [violative content deleted] anyways". Yup, a car sales guy said those exact words and didn't even stop there. He followed me into the finance office as finance guy was shredding my paperwork and said "you know, you haven't been flexible at all". I reminded him about calling me an [violative content deleted] and he said "those words weren't meant for you to hear, but you did". I questioned him again on it and he said "you got a problem with it?". You're a salesman John, you're supposed to be professional. I wrote an email to the general manager last night and called him this morning. I was continuously told he was in a meeting. The clerk that answered was VERY nice. I told her what a salesman said to me and think it would take priority but not a chance, I called back a few times and waited on hold. I told the gen manager this story, apparently I was on speaker but was not told that either. After listening to him defend the sales guy I asked to be transferred to the Owner. There was a bit of lag time then he transferred me over. I started to tell the owner Terry(you should Google that guy sometime it's a good read) my story. He cut me off and told me about how good Johnny is. "I hired him 18 years ago, he is the best I've got".
It's obvious that they don't care about keeping customers around. Do yourself a favor and stay far, far away. The owner Terry doesn't give a damn about hearing my complaint and just played games. Not even a sincere apology. Never again will I go there and I will be sure everyone I talk to hears my experience.

I have had the complete opposite experience with Atamian than several reviewers. My VW Phaeton's power steering suddenly went out and I was expecting major repairs but Atamian found that a bleed screw had come out and dumped all the PS fluid. They replaced it, bled the system, all for $100. They could have screwed me, but didn't. Their parts folk have always been very helpful.

Bought a 'new' civic, discovered sometime later many after market suspension components on vehicle and evidence of collision damage. Plenty of other Honda dealers to go to other there here.

The sales person is very frank and helpful. The price is reasonable. We liked one of the car on the lot and just negotiate the price on the spot. But the car we bought has some defects... The salesperson is very friendly and down-to-earth. The place is a bit too far from us. But it is a spacious place with many cars for inspection.
