5 Stars: Great Service Great buying experience (by by c garvey at Citysearch)

I needed a used car for my daughter as a car to learn on that would not break the bank.
After looking at cars on the lots of more than 40 dealerships, I decided to take a look at the cars on Jim and Jasons lot. The guys at Weaver Motorsports had recently done some repairs on another car of mine... I was looking for a gently used BMW but after consulting with Jim Weaver one of the owners of Weaver Motorsports I decided to give his Volvos a good hard look. I found a V70 wagon in my price range and was surprised how easy the price negotiation went.
We settled on a very fair price, like I said I had been looking at cars in this price range for almost four weeks.
The next day I arrived with a check and the paperwork was already done no games or gimmicks, I was also surprised when the Weavers offered me an extended warranty to protect my investment, again assurance that I was getting a good car from a great dealership!

These guys are total professionals, I really like the way they run their business, like true gentlemen!

5 Stars: Great Car and Great Service (by Jason B.)

If you want someone to bottle feed and burp you through your car purchasing experience this may not be the place for you. As a few reviews have stated Mr. Weaver (the father) does discuss those people who come in to simply drive a car with no intention of buying being somewhat of a pain. I get where he is coming from and if you ever sell anything and have a bunch of tire kickers come along and never purchase you would be annoyed too. They are after all in business to make money.

When I started my research on Volvo's and BMW's I also researched places to purchase from. I came across Weaver Motorsports when looking on Craigslist and found they had a nice selection of both types of cars I was interested in. As requested I scheduled an appointment by phone and I drove two different V70's. I was sold on the second one but I'm not an impulse buyer so I said I would be back. I went to a few dealerships over the next few days and drove a few cars to convince myself the Volvo at Weaver was the one. I could not find anything else that looked as clean and was as mechanically sound in my price range as the V70. Jason Weaver emailed and asked if I was still interested and I'm sure he didn't believe me when I said I was coming in the next day because I had missed another appointment. The morning that I went in I asked a friend about her Volvo and she said that they had purchased with the Weavers in the past and highly recommended them. When I did come in Jim greeted me with a firm handshake and called me by name and we discussed a Saab on his lot that was cheaper than the Volvo that I came to purchase. He told me I'm a Volvo guy and I should stick with my first thought. Being the knucklehead I am I test drove the Saab to make my decision more difficult. I even took the Saab to the bank to finance it but pulled a switcharoo and went with the Volvo. I called Jim and he said no problem and faxed the paperwork on the Volvo to the bank. He is a straight shooter and matter of fact but he was patient and honest with me. I believe he is a good man who loves his family and I appreciated him sharing stories about his wife and two boys to keep it from being all about business. Their cars a nice, clean, and have very fair prices. I certainly appreciate their help, communication, and great cars. Ill be back in the future!

5 Stars: professionalism and experience shows (by by silverarrows at Citysearch)

I bought my Saab here a few months back. Jim Weaver is dedicated to doing the right thing and leads by example. He referred me to a 3rd party Saab expert mechanic for a pre-sale inspection who found some discrete ( Saab-specific) issues and fixed them. All used Saabs have these but this act on Jim's part clinched the deal for me. These folks convey confidence:
-The environment is clean and the culture is pleasant and no-pressure. On two office visits I observed all the in-office communications to be very respectful of the customer.
-They have been buying at wholesale auction for a long time and know how to buy for sale to the public.
I will give them a look first for my next car purchase.

5 Stars: Buy your car here (by by JONB at Citysearch)

I bought my Volvo S60 here last month after finding the listing on Craigslist. The car was presented honestly and at a great price. After dealing with them and spending a long while talking and watching the business run I will go there first for another car. If you want to be babied and cajoled into buying a car, go elsewhere. If you want an honest broker who knows the cars and the business this is the right spot. No used car dealer can fully know what the future holds once the car leaves their lot, but this family will do their best to let you know its past. P.S. their vintage motocross bike collection is worth the visit.

5 Stars: Would do business with again! (by by CRguy at Citysearch)

After being in the market for awhile for a used Volvo Wagon and following a great deal of their advertisements and online reviews, I decided to check out the inventory at Weaver Motorsports. I'll admit the cars almost seemed too cheap online - after arriving I was taken by surprise how clean and professional the whole operation presents itself. The cars are all detailed and well presented. The complete inventoy is pre serviced in house as well as NC state inspected. Couple other unique facts - there is a Carfax report right there on the dash of every car - they obviously have nothing to hide. Every car also includes a warranty. Needless to say I did business that same day - and will refer Jim, Jason & DeJuan to as many others as I can. They have a no hassle and to the point approach which I think is refreshing. This is one of the most underated places to find a great used car!

1 Stars: Beware of Weaver Motorsports (by Michael A.)

Drove from out of state to see a vehicle. Jim Weaver only allowed me 15 minutes to test drive the car because he met me on a Saturday - apparently I was cutting into his precious weekend. I immediately became suspicious.

During the test drive I noticed that the brakes were terribly squeaky and soft. There was also a loud clunking noise from the rear when accelerating from a stop. He flat out denied both of my claims. I offered to prove it to him and asked that he take a ride with me. At this point he became rather pissed off and refused saying "there is nothing I can do about it and it won't affect the price." I insisted that he disclose the info to future potential buyers because it was the RIGHT THING TO DO. This only enraged him further.

Needless to say I walked. Jim proved to be like school on Saturday - NO CLASS. I would suggest shopping elsewhere.

5 Stars: Excellent Car Buying Experience (by by marleneandpaul at Citysearch)

I recently purchased a car from Weaver Motorsports. It was the best experience I have had buying a used car. Jim Weaver was very friendly and answered all of the questions that I had. There was never any pressure put on me to buy. Jason Weaver let me know about the car's history. Jim even had the mechanics in the service department look the car over a final time before I bought it. My car runs and looks great. I got it at a fantastic price. Jim Weaver is an excellent salesman who made me very comfortable buying a car from him. Jason was friendly and honest about the car. The next time I need a new car, I will go back to Weaver Motorsports to buy one. Another great point is that they have their own service department where I can take the car to to have maintenance done on it by people who know the car.

5 Stars: Great Service and Knowledge (by by smokeanddad at Citysearch)

I have a 1984 Corvette that I took to Weaver Motorsports Service dept to have fixed. I had taken it to several different mechanics over the last two years trying to get a problem with the car fixed. I figured Weavers would be another dead end, but I refered there by a friend so I tried it. Bryan, the service manager was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about my problem. The mechanic, Scott who worked on the car knew exactly what he was doing. I left my car overnight, and the next day to my surprise, it was fixed. I was at a loss with the car and about ready to sell it. Thanks to Bryan and Scott I can keep my baby for a while longer.

2 Stars: Sorta Good... (by by wendic737 at Citysearch)

Had a mixed experience. I purchased a car and luckily have had no issues thus far. My mother purchased a car the same day and she had to replace the brakes and suspension within a month's time (we had multiple mechanics look into these problems before fixing it, and they all came up with the same outcome). Something that should have been caught before putting the car on the lot.

5 Stars: Excellent used-car buying experience! (by by AdrianV at Citysearch)

I have a fair amount of used-car buying experience, and so took in Weaver Motorsports' ads with a grain of salt -- I'm skeptical when I see nice cars at low prices: they're either just bait to get you to call (""Just come on in and look""), or they have salvage titles, or unreported wrecks.

And so I was pleasantly surprised to learn, when I called Weaver Motorsports, that not only was the car on the lot, but Jason Weaver was upfront over the phone about its accident history and condition. When I went to look at the car, Weaver let me poke around in it for over an hour without bothering me, and even put it on their lift for me so I could more easily inspect the underside.

On top of that, Jason was very prompt with his email responses to my questions, even once responding at 11:30pm.

(Caveat emptor: Of course, with any used car purchase from any used car dealer, make sure the car is what you want and expect before you drive it off the lot; if it catches on fire 10 feet away from the lot, it's your problem. )

If/when I reenter the used car market, I would most definitely do business with Weaver again! It was, overall, a very positive experience. (And I love the car).

5 Stars: Happy with my BMW and Weaver (by by R Brown at Citysearch)

I had been in the market for a wagon for weeks and had found an MB E320 that I liked. To satisfy myself that I had done due diligence, I decided to try some unfamiliar brands. I'd seen Weaver on Craig's & I called for an appt as they asked, thinking this was strange for a used car dealer. Jim and I got our wires crossed so I was about 2 hours later than he was expecting me, but we got that out of the way quickly. I told him up front that I was doing research and wanted to drive a Volvo, Saab and BMW that he had listed. He was fine with it. I drove all three and liked the BMW best. We spent much of the afternoon talking cars, and I took the 528i out again. I was indecisive. I left, and drove the MB again on the way home, and decided that the BMW was for me. I got home to find a message from Jim that my BMW was sold just at closing, but he had a similar model coming in within a week and would call me. I continued watching Craig's and saw it posted a couple weeks later, and when I called Jim he told me that the car was not ready to show, but suggested that I might like the other one, which I had not seen listed. I went online while we were on the phone, and made arrangements to come in within the hour. I learned later that Jim put off another appointment on the same car to avoid having two of us there glaring at each other. I liked this one even better and we made the deal that afternoon. The car had not been detailed so I was to return the next day, and did so. I left after we processed the paper, and about two miles away the ""Check Engine"" light came on. I went back and It turned out that the detail guy had knocked a clamp loose and air was coming in at a wrong place. Fixed it and I left again. Five miles later, same deal. Back at Weaver, we cleaned the offending equipment, got the light turned off and I left. Two days later I had to call again for the same light, and came right in. They changed out the $400-plus part at no charge to me. Same problem arose a few days later. Their mechanic found a related hose that he felt he probably cracked when he changed out the part. No charge, and no more air sensor problem. Then a light came on for the transmission. They kept the car a week diagnosing the elusive problem and getting in the part and I expected a bill this time, because I had after all bought a ten year old car and I did not expect it to be perfect. The service manager kept me informed as the diagnosis progressed and assured me that the problem was electrical, not mechanical. I did, indeed, get a bill but it was adjusted by them, without any complaining by me, to an amount I could live with, despite ten hours of shop time and a reasonably expensive set of wiring. The car is, again, all fine and I am happy. The Weavers have not made a profit from our transaction, but they have been unfailingly pleasant, open, honest and welcoming. I recommend Weaver unreservedly. Their facility is as pleasant as their family. And the ""con"" above is not really a negative, when you think about it.

2 Stars: Thought I had finally found a trustworthy...â?? (by Amanda C.)

I found a great looking car for a reasonable price and found that dealing with the folks at Weaver Motor Sports was painless. Unfortunately, 36 hours after driving off the lot, I've already had a part fall off, get broken and damage the car itself. I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt and just ask that they fix the problem, but was told that the vehicle was sold as is (which of course it was, but a day and a half???) and they refused to replace the part. This is beyond disconcerting after just purchasing a vehicle. It does not give me any confidence in the vehicle itself or in the business. Beware! I will not do business here again and would not recommend it to anyone else.??

5 Stars: Great Cars, Great Service (by by spece3022 at Citysearch)

I recently bought a BMW 3 Series from the folks at Weaver Motorsports and could not be happier. After seeing the car on craigslist I automatically fell in love. I called to set up an appointment to test drive the car and it was nothing less than perfect. Went to the bank and it was mine in less than an hour. It looked exactly like it did in the pictures. The guy before me obviously felt different claiming ""someone knows how to use photoshop"". I tend to disagree it seems like someone knows how to use a camera. I cannot speak more highly of the Weaver Family(Jim, Dejuan and Jason). They were very professional through the whole deal and seem to be very down to earth. If your looking for a car I would recommend them any day. These guys are the real deal!

1 Stars: shady, rude, and impatient. (by by lemonjelo at Citysearch)

The old man could care less about selling his cars, which are not what they appear to be, or at least not whats pictured in their online photos. Obviously someone knows how to use photoshop! I found rust sprayed over with black paint to give the appearance of ""good condition,"" Try reading their 1st review which seems to be a better assessnent of the real Weaver Motorsports experience, unless you want to buy right now a test drive of a vehicle is ""a waste of their time and gas! apparently cash in hand is the only way to be taken serious as a buyer. If thier service department is responsible for the mechanical wellbeing of the vehicles which they have for sale, buyer beware! I don't think I'll be taking my new/used car there to be worked on either. We are in a tough economy right now, however taking advantage of unsuspecting customers or trying to, I dont feel is good business. hope this helps anyone thinking about doing business with these scheisters, too many other dealers in very close proximity to the aforementioned ""dealership"" who are more than willing to take the time to aid you in the second largest investment we as consumers make.

4 Stars: Weaver Motorsports Service Department (by by Todd Comer at Citysearch)

Finally there is a service department I trust. I was introduced to Weaver Motorsports by a co-worker and I'm excited to finally have a place to take my baby (my E320) and not worry about getting taken advantage of. I take pride in my vehicles and appreciated a mechanic who takes pride in them as well!

5 Stars: A Great Business That Shows Pride in Their Company. (by by jimmie48fan1 at Citysearch)

I bought a BMW from Weaver about a year ago. It was a great experience. I haven't had any problems with the car but if I need a new one I'll definately go back. The other day I took the car in for scheduled maintenance and to check out the new Service Department. The Service Manager was friendly and made sure I was taken care of quickly. The service area is the cleanest shop I've ever been in. The customer lounge is also great even though I didn't have to wait long. It is always nice to go to a place of business where you can tell the people take great pride in their company.

1 Stars: Rude and Obnoxious to Customers (by by enoriverfarms at Citysearch)

I just checked out Weaver Motorsports for the first time recently. \r
\r
The conversation with the Weaver ""salesman"" started off weird with him ranting about people who took test drives without being serious shoppers. (This didn't describe me, but maybe he thought it did.) It almost sounded like he expected people to buy the car first and test drive it second.\r
\r
But he finally allowed us a short test drive of one of the two cars we were interested in. We drove off, came back quickly and said we didn't want it (the ride was too floaty and the brakes felt mushy.) \r
\r
This only led to another, even ruder round in which he accused us of just joy-riding and wandered off into a rambling account of why he thought they might just stop selling cars altogether. (Interspersed with ""I don't mean to be rude, but."" -- he was, in fact.)\r
\r
Altogether, he was rude, obnoxious, and even hostile -- and remember, this is *before* the sale. I cannot imagine buying a car there now. \r
\r
This Weaver saleman was in complete contrast to the various other dealers I've dropped by during the same car-shopping experience. It contrasts in particular with another small used-car dealership, Cabriolet Motors, which has a similar selection (a lot of BMWs) and where the people couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Guess which one is getting my business?\r
\r
