Finally a decent sandwich in LA.

There is simply nothing like this anywhere in Los Angeles. True high quality sandwiches made by people who obviously care about detail.

House made potato chips? House made pickels? Wow. I was seriously blown away by Soda Pop's. I live in the "Beverly Hills Adjacent" area surrounding this place and the other lunch spots just dont even come close.

I wandered in off a friends recommendation and have since been back 3 times this week.

So far I've had:

- Meatball Grinder gets an 8 out of 10 from me. The meatballs are apparently made of pork, veal and beef and I could definitely taste the difference, also the sauce is really good. At least twice as good as the "italian" places in the neighborhood (ahem.. North End Pizzeria I'm talking to you)

- Steak Bomb: 100 on a scale of 1 to 10! God damn.... this is just rediculous. To be honest I dont really often order or enjoy Steak sandwiches. Other than a few select places in Philly (Pat's, Genos and Jims) Iam usually left incredibly disappointed. Anyway, I went against instict and ordered the steak bomb since the guy at the counter said it was essentially a thinly sliced ribeye, cut with a laser incredibly thin. I was not sorry I listened!

- Flank Steak & Blue: 9 out of 10. After my affair with the steak bomb, I figured it only made sense to give the other steak a try and this one is almost as good as the bomb. They marinate the meat in something really good (balsamic based perhaps?) and top the steak with blue cheese, carmelized onions and radicchio. I will definitely be back for this one.

Thank you Soda Pops, we are going to be close friends.

Oh and one oher thing, I found out after parking a meter the first time that they have a free lot in the back with tons of spots. Good One Pop's.

Okay, this place is delicious. I get the mixed greens salad with shrimp and it's omgsogood. And it comes with this really delicious bread soaked in oil or something.

The people who work here are nice/appreciative of their customers and I LOVE the decor of this place. Adorable! Two thumbs up.

My co-workers frequent Soda Pops as well and I've never heard a bad thing. YUM!

Pros: mixed greens, everything!

This deli has pared things down and really makes you appreciates the little things. The fact that they make their own chips and provide a wide variety of them says a lot about these skilled men in the back.

I had the pleasure of their Italian Beef and in a word it was amazing. the peppers were pickled perfectly and the nothing was overpowered as is often the case with these types of sandwiches. The cheese was melted on top of the sandwich and essentially trapped the peppers in place. The aus jus from the peppers continued to impart flavor to the meat and the bread was properly toasted.

I decided to go with the sea salt and dill chips. Fantastic and light. they weren't oily and it was like having a crunchy potato salad.

All I'm saying is to come here and eat. Oh and don't forget that you will be able to find old school and funky sodas here.

Soda Pop's is a new sandwich spot in West Hollywood that offers a ton of different hot & cold sandwiches and a few salads. The decor is really clean, casual and fun.

I tried the turkey withe the Sour Cream chips -everything was really fresh and tasty. The sandwich was also so large that I took the other half home with me (still tasted good the next day). I also love the variety of different soda pops and juices. I forgot the name of the one that I tried but it had raspberry in it.

The owner, Dave is a really nice guy and definitely cares about giving his customers a quality experience & good food. He mentioned that they make fresh pizzas on some nights and are open late night. I'm excited to come back to try another sandwich creation.
