I recently completed a 28-day + detox program at this treatment center. Although I feel I got my moneys worth it took a LOT of kicking and screaming for them to not treat me as a number.

One thing you need to know about this, and most treatment facilities, from the get-go is that they are a revolving door business. You will be treated like a number by a good portion of the staff and will have a "template" applied to your treatment.

For a lot of people this is ok, but this business has very little clue when it comes to any special cases or extreme detoxes. I've seen multiple seizures during my stay there from people who were kicked out of detox early to make room for new intakes. Things that would have never happened in a hospital setting and also people who are caring for clients without even the most basic medical treatment. Not knowing CPR, not knowing how to deal with a seizure. Dispensing medications incorrectly. Medications with severe interactions being dispensed and triggering seizures in patients. One client has a asthma meds they gave him after he already has his first seizure. I also saw a housemate on literally 15 different prescription medications, many of them unneeded or compounding the effects of others, prescribed by the in-house Doctor.

The actual business logistics and operations are terrible. Expect to wait an hour or more between rides from location to location on certain days because the office has no one to drive you back home. Expect that if you tell a staff member you need medication that no one in the office will take care of it. I've seen clients miss several doses of heart medicines and others miss meds they need in order to eat multiple days in a row. Also clients not getting their money on specified days and missing lunch because noone gave them their cash. The ball will be dropped I assure you.

Now on a positive note, there are many staff members here that truly care about the clients well-being and recovery. They are the house managers, counselors, and therapists. But most of the people in the business office are fueled by greed and minimizing costs.

For example, this company makes around 50 - 80k a DAY in revenue. I'm estimating that number off of the amount of client spaces and cost to be here. At the main office the breakfast food they give clients is frozen corndogs, sausage biscuits, and frozen waffles. They have 2 toasters for 40 guys in the morning to use and both of them are broken. Food is cheap, unhealthy and goes against the businesses own education for clients to eat right.

On that note. I wouldn't trade the time I spent here for anything in the world. You will make friends for life here. You will learn things about yourself you never imagined, and if you believe in yourself, you will get better.

This is one of the best rehab treatment centers in its range in the country. I'm just saying, we can do much, MUCH better. Oh also, if you talk to someone in intake about working out any kind of a deal for your treatment, make sure you get it in writing BEFORE flying out here and signing everything. Remember, this is a business.

Please research other facilities. This facility does not have the properly trained counselors and directors that they advertise. The counselor, Kara let my son curse at me during the sessions we had on the phone. Which I find out now they tried to mislead me by misspelling her name, Cara. She scheduled a session to figure out where he was going when released, ONE day before he would be released. She then tried to negotiate the time he would spend and a different facility than the one we had picked during the session with my son. She hung up on us about 6 times because the phone system was having problems. I got back on and heard her say, "I can't do this cause she thinks I am hanging up on her." I ask to speak with her superior and she would not comply. I got off of the 3 way call and called the director myself. The director called me back. The phone started hanging up on us.The director, Jenny said I heard you were going to send him to a homeless shelter. I looked on their staff web page and I did not see a director by the name of Jenny. SERIOUSLY?! I said what? She said my son told the counselor that. I said why would we spend the time and money to send him from GA to CA and then bring him back to send him to a homeless shelter? I also thought wow these are counselors. Dear lord we don't want junkies around those filthy homeless people do we? I am using scarcasm here. I thought they helped everyone. My head was spinning. I spoke with the network that referred me to ABT but it was never resolved. We tried to contact my son to tell him he had benefits at an inpatient facility extended care but ABT staff never got back to us. We don't know if he EVER got the message. Now my son is MIA. He won't tell us where he is. ABT won't contact us. Thanks for your help ABT.

strongly caution anyone considering this rehab to reconsider. I was led to believe that they could handle my 21 year old son who has dual diagnosis. I was reassured over and over again that they could handle all possible situations. Well, after 8 days they decided to send him to county mental health because they couldn't handle him. They charged us $4000 for 8 days. Then they held our prepaid balance of $24,000 for 5 more weeks before we rec'd the refund. PLEASE do your research. Go for a not-for profit. ABT is all about the profit. I mistakenly trusted their staff to care for my son and was sorely disappointed. He's back on the streets thanks to ABT.

I was struggling with alcohol until I called A Better Tomorrow. It was the first step to my recovery. The person on the phone was very knowledgeable and understanding of my problem. They got me right in and my recovery began right away. I've been sober for 6 months now.

I'm done with using drugs. They ruined my life. I can't fathom going back to a life of drugs. I would be an idiot thinking I can have it both ways. No, I found a clean life and I intend to hold on to it as long as I can. Going to A Better Tomorrow was the best decision I've made. Getting in touch with this drug rehab clearly gave me a life I never thought I'll have again.

I loved my time at ABT. They really care about helping people. I had a really bad drug addiction and I knew I needed help. A friend helped me find this place after seeing it on the news and I wouldn??t ever think that I could get so much support from people that didn??t know me and hadn??t met me before. No I can focus on being a good mother to my daughter and being a functioning part of society. Thank you A Better Tomorrow.

Our son has struggled with addiction for the past couple of years. It had gotten really bad since he separated from his wife and I was really concerned about him. He wouldn??t respond to phone calls and I became fearful for his life. I called A Better Tomorrow and they helped me stage an intervention with my son. The professionals sent by ABT were extremely helpful. He denied that he needed help. After a while, the professional finally convinced him that he needed to go to rehab. He has been clean since he??s been out. I get to see my grandson again and I don??t have to worry about my son any longer. Thank you!!

Thank you A Better Tomorrow for saving my son. I??ve seen this happen with my oldest son who is no longer with us. Drug addiction is a hard thing, at least for me, to deal with and thanks to the professionals at A Better Tomorrow, I have my baby back. I don??t know what I would have done if I lost him the same way I lost his brother. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

I have had many drug addiction ??episodes? over the course of my life. I??ve tried to cut it out cold turkey; I??ve checked into different rehabs, I feel like I??ve tried it all and nothing has worked. One of my friends mentioned a place in Murrieta, Ca. that was far away from all of the influences that has plagued me over the years. Their extended stay program was something I was looking for. This place is very nice. I??m in my second month and I feel great. The help I have received here is better than any other place I??ve been to. I have a couple more weeks to go and I think all will go well after I am done with the program. Thank you A Better Tomorrow for showing me a different approach for dealing with my substance addiction.

For about a year and a half, I was addicted to opiates. I lost my job and even lived on the streets for a few days before begging my parents to take me in. They would only agree if I got help. They called A Better Tomorrow and I went reluctantly. I never knew the help that I needed. It was a relaxed setting. The doctors really understood where I was coming from and they told me about past patients and their struggles. I learn ways to fight the urge to go back to using. I am a compulsive gum chewer now but my parents have no problem with that. I have a new job. Not much but it??s a start. I can??t wait to get my life back in order.

I run an Alcoholics Anonymous program in southern California. We get people that need more help than just counseling. I recommend some people to get an alcohol detox at A Better Tomorrow before coming to the program. They have the best staff in southern California. When people come back to the AA program, they are clear minded and ready to get help. Every person that gets the detoxification has a really low relapse rate. I recommend it to anyone that is trying to kick the habit on their own but find it too difficult.

I can't say enough good things about A Better Tomorrow. I used to drink a lot and it got out of control. After my husband left me I knew something had to be done. My sister helped me find an alcohol rehab and I went to A Better Tomorrow. It worked. I'm sober now and I'm going to stay that way. Thank you A Better Tomorrow!

I was really messed up on vicodin for years. I tired to get off of them myself many times. Couldn't do it. I saw a special on the news about a girl who was also addicted to vicodin and she went to this place and got off. I called them. Best call I ever made. The vicodin made me useless. Being sober is great! A Better Tomorrow is a great drug rehab facility.

My son was in a better tomorrow for 10 days he was in detox for 6 and hadnt seen a therapist or counselor until day 9.. He was calling me daily which he was not supposed to do which meant that he wasnt being watched very well.. He also discovered while being there that everyone was paying a different price and some had taken loans out for their fee while other were paying 1/2 of what they were. I think that ABTTC is not what it says it is and is making alot of money doing it... BEWARE of lies and run!!
