Prospective Clients,

Do not hesitate to use Rich on any of your projects. He asks all the right questions and answers them in a timely fashion. Not always the norm in the construction/supplier realm of business.
Even though my project was a small job he still took the time to walk me through the process. I had never worked with copper and did not know what could be done and what was not feasible. He suggested solutions alond with costs which aided in the decision making process.
This project turned out very well for me & my family.

Thanks again Rich & his Team!

I very rarely write positive reviews, it??s much easier to trash someone. I was searching the internet for chimney caps and by accident stumbled across Copper-By-Design??s web site. Thankfully I contacted them. This by far is a 1st class operation so much so that I do not believe they have any competition. If you are looking for anything made out of copper there is no other place to go. They will assist you from initial design through installation. Their design knowledge is well above average, craftsmanship outstanding and communication throughout the project excellent. You will be hard pressed to find anyone better.

I live in the Northeast, we just got hit by ??super storm? Sandy. Wind gusts measured in excess of 90mph. Hundreds of thousands of trees were knocked down. Branches flew through the air like arrows. The chimney caps produced by Copper-By-Design came through this disaster unscathed. A real life testament to the quality, design characteristics and installation methodology. Contact them, you won??t be disappointed.

I had my shingle roof replaced, but the roofers (http://www.hproofingllc.com/) failed to properly build a shingled cricket and flash the chimney, so it leaked. They tried three times to fix it with caulk, but it still leaked, and then they quit returning my calls. I knew that there were major problems they refused to address, primarily that the cricket had to be metal and that their shortcut to reuse poorly installed leaking lead flashing from 30 years ago just wouldn't work.

Everyone in Vermont uses lead flashing, so I couldn't find a coppersmith who also knows about solving roofing problems.

I found the Copper By Design web site and their description of unethical roofers was on the mark and their flashing kit/custom copper cricket was just what I needed. So I ordered the full kit (with plywood structure, which I recommend) and it arrived a few weeks later in a sturdy shipping crate. Everything came as promised and I could tell it was expertly crafted.

I sawed out the old grout with a diamond blade in my old circular saw (base plate removed, as suggested) and chiseled out the old lead flashing without problem. In my case I pulled off the shingles around the chimney so I could use sticky membrane to help prevent ice damming. (I had several leftover bundles of shingles.) But otherwise I could see how a retrofit of the step flashing could be done without that extra work.

The installation went smoothly and I am confident that there will be no leaks. The heavy copper will stand the test of time over any other material.

Copper by design met every expectation I had and I am totally pleased with my interaction with them via email and phone and am very happy their hand-crafted product built to my chimney's exact dimensions. It is refreshing to find a company like Copper By Design with excellent workmanship, quality materials, and honest/fair business practices!

Found this company online. I was looking for a copper cap to install on a gazebo I just completed. Quotes from my local contractors seemed a little high. My quote request to Cooper By Design was returned promptly and for my small project was very reasonable. Their web site answered most of my questions and their emails provided clear instructions on ordering the product. The product was delivered to me in 15 days from the date the order was confirmed. Installation instructions were helpful and I am very happy with the product that was provided. I am located in Oklahoma and the shipping was handled by UPS with no issues. I would strongly recommend this company.

Beautiful work I wish I could have him create something grand for my home, but even the small custom copper work he does is beautiful and worth the cost
