First, I would like to preface that it is almost impossible to find an overall 'good' vet, one that you can trust, that does not rush through the visit, and one who provides a thorough explanation and more importantly one that you trust with your pet's life. With that said, I would qualify Dr. Loyer as a 'great' vet, one who has all of the abovementioned qualities and more. Dr. Loyer examined and performed several tests on my Brussels Griffon and from the moment he entered the exam room until the time we departed I felt absolutely confident with his diagnosis and treatment plan. I would recommend Dr. Loyer to any pet owner whose pet requires special attention.

My 10 year old cat, Mickey, was diagnosed with a third degree, atrioventricular (AV), heart block. Translation for a layperson like myself: Mickey was in danger of dropping dead. Dr. Dan Brod of Deer Creek Animal Hospital referred Mickey to Dr. Carroll Loyer, a DVM who is board certified in Cardiology as a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. I was immediately impressed with Dr. Loyer??s compassion, his love for his profession, and his sincere desire to help Mickey. Dr. Loyer was supported by the most well trained professional staff I've ever encountered in any medical establishment. Because Mickey was in good health with the exception of his AV block, Dr. Loyer recommended a pacemaker. Before scheduling the operation, I received detailed, verbal and written estimate of the cost. The estimate included contingencies ?? one of which was that it could take two, separate attempts to insert the pacemaker. Mickey had to have two operations, but my prior knowledge of this possibility as well as of the cost, made it bearable. Before and after the surgeries I was informed of Mickey??s progress. Knowing that someone would be with him 24 hours a day and that I could call at any time, helped alleviate my anxiety. On March 22, 2011, Dr. Loyer and his highly competent staff gave Mickey a ??new lease on life?. Thank you, Dr. Loyer, and thanks to your team for extending Mickey??s life!

We have been taking our ailing cat for almost a year now to Dr. Loyer as he is board certified in cardiology as a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. Our feline was literally on her 'ninth life' when Dr. Loyer provided us with experimental heart medicine that is approved in Europe. She has survived 10 months more, perkier than ever, and doing well. We attribute this to Dr. Loyer's research and cutting edge technology/knowledge. Moreover, he is gentle and genuinely adores our furry friends. You're in good/able hands should your pet need a cardiologist.
