I really like Suzee's Closet, and the other day I took a few of my friends with me to shop, they also loved the store.

While we were shopping, a woman came, and it was obvious that she was angry. We figured out that it was a disgruntle Consignor who had received a donation slip regarding merchandise that she had consigned and not picked up at the end of her expiration period. The Consignor was doing everything she could to cause embarrassment in front of the store customers, because she spoke loudly and angrily to the manager. She spoke so loud that everyone in the store couldn't help but to hear her business. The consignor was mad because she had failed up pick up her items after 90 days. As we listened to the conversation, the manager handed a copy of what looked to be some type of Agreement to to lady. She quietly explained that the woman had initial and agreed to each of the consignment terms, and if she had failed to pick up her merchandise that her initial and signature was agreeing that items left would become property of the store, and later donated to charities. She told the disgruntled woman that the store has so many consignors that they do not call and give a reminded, that her initial acknowledged that she was responsible for called to validate her expiration date.

The woman was totally unreasonable, but the manager, remained calm, and professional. The manager explained that the consignor's merchandise had expired 6 months ago, which meant that the items had been in the store for almost a year.

My friends and I could see that the manager was trying every way that she could to control the environment because there were several women shopping in the store.

Well, we all were completely impressed at how the manager handled the situation, because it was obvious that the consignor refused to take blame for failing to pick up her things at the appropriate time.

Not only was I impressed with the way the manager handled the situation, but with the fact that Suzee's Closet Donates unclaimed items to Thrift Store Charities, and when the items sell, the Thrift Stores give 100% of their profits to the poor, and other charity organizations. What a great way to give back to our less fortunate brothers and sisters.

And for that alone, anyone who doesn't pick up their items after their consignment period should feel good in knowing that they made a contribution to those who do not have.

When the disgruntled lady left, all the women in the store applauded the manager for her professionalism.

I'm not a real consignment shopper, but my daughter took me consignment shopping when I visited her a while back. She said that she really liked one little Consignment Boutique pretty far from her condo; but she promised that I would enjoy my experience, reluctantly, I agreed to go with her. Well, to me, it really was a drive, because we could hardly find the place. It was sort of out there, and no real signs to point you to the store. But my daughter was determined to make it to the store. By the time we made it to the store, I was already tired, and I really didn't want to go into the store, but my daughter insisted. First thing I did was to sit down in a chair next to the jewelry counter. As I looked around I quickly noticed how clean, organized, and pleasant the atmosphere was. The lady was friendly and she knew how to hold an educational conversation about fashion, style, family, school, and she was very interesting.
After a while, I got up and began to look around, the clothes were so clean, I asked her if the store was a retail store, because I saw so many tags.
Past times when I visited consignment stores, the racks were so packed that I could hardly move the garments aside, and for an old woman in her eighties, that makes your arms hurt. When I get tired from pushing clothes aside, I generally leave with out purchasing anything. Well, I didn't have that problem in Suzee's Closet, and yet she had many many clothes to choose from. I also like fine brands, and I found great ones in her boutique.

Thank you Suzee for providing such a lovely environment for consignment shopping, great conversation, and great prices.

I have consigned with many Consignment stores in my past, most of them gave me a 40/60 split even on designer items. Also, most other consignment stores have a policy when they do not give your merchandise back because of the amount of work involved to find it among the thousand of items on their floor.

Well, I consigned with Suzee's Closet and I received a 50/50 split on most of my brand names and 50/50 split on all my designer purses and clothes. Their in-take department priced my items very competitive and I sold most of my purses. After my 90 days I was allowed to picked up my items, or to turn them over to the store. I opted to pick up my items, because I would later have a garage sale on all remaining items. First, I was really impressed how well the remaining items were. I had taken my items in a bit wrinkle, and they were all neatly steamed, my purses were clean, and so were my shoes. After I got home, I noticed that one of my lease expensive purses by Liz Clairborn was missing. After contacting the store, the owner said they would try to locate it. However, I later learned that it was possible stolen. When I entered in the agreement I understood that theft was a normal part of any retail industry. I also realize that consignment stores do not carry the same type of insurance as retail stores, because they have no manufacturer to stand behind their (used) merchandise; therefore, so my property would not be returned to me. The owner felt badly, and even offered that I select a purse from the store's personal supplies. The truth is, in any establishment, people will always steal, so I told the owner that I understood the potential risk when I signed the 90 agreement.
Still I have a lovely experience, made pretty good money, especially when the things were just sitting in my closet collecting dust. Thank you Suzee's Closet and I plan on a long time relationship.
