Theresa, the dental hygienist was very gentle and explained everything including cost. I did not want injected into the gum unless it was necessary or painful. She swabbed the gum with local anesthetic and waited. She did do antibiotic treatments into pockets and it went great. She is very nice and talks you through everything. I didn't feel rushed and felt that if I had needed injections she would have stopped and waited. Going to the dentist has never been a pleasant experience and have always had teeth and gum problems. Thank you very much Theresa for a ""pleasant"" experience at a dentist's office.\n

The Dr that took care of my root canal was great. I've always suffered from pain, even with Novocain. The Dr that took care of my root canal was great. I've always suffered from pain, even with Novocain. My family & I have been going to Castle Dental in Franklin for 6 years. I called to schedule appointments & was told that x-rays & cleanings could not be done the same day??? What?? I don't have time for this. I am a mother of 3 kids whose husband is out of town a lot. I get 10 hours a week where all 3 kids are in school at the same time & don't want to use that precious time going to the dentist multiple times. \n\nTook my son in for x-rays, we were there for 2 hours.\n\nWent tonight for my x-rays & son's cleaning. He got finished with his cleaning before I was even called back for x-rays. My appointment was for 5:40. I told them I needed to pick my twins up at 6:30 & was told that I wouldn't be done by then???? For x-rays??? Really?? \n\nMy husband went for a check-up a couple weeks ago & too was told he needed deep cleaning for gum disease. Glad I found this website to see other complaints. I don't like going to the dentist because I've been scammed before, it's a big racket in my opinion.

We have been clients of Castle Dental in Franklin, Tn. for more than 10 years. Until 6 months ago when the first of my 2 daughters had her regular scheduled 6 month cleaning. She is 24 and has flawless teeth and gums. She was told she had periodontal disease and would need deep cleaning. To make this long story short. My 2 daughters & my wife were all diagnosed with periodontal disease. I immediately read into this as a scam, and a corporate maneuver to spike numbers. \r\nI in a matter of a few weeks afterward had my regular 6 month cleaning scheduled. When I arrived at the office the morning of my appointment I KNEW before I walked in the doors that I too would be diagnosed with the same. When I was seen, as you could guess, I was correct in my assumption. Politely I took it straight to the hygienist, the dentist and an assistant, and told them of my friends, family and acquaintances that have been given the same diagnosis. It seems if you are 18 or over and walk in the doors of Castle Dental, you should expect to be told you have PD. \r\nAdditionally, soon after my first daughter was diagnosed some friends told me of a radio ad they responded to for a $39.00 exam. When they visited Castle Dental they too were told their Child had PD. Castle refused to clean her teeth until she had the deep cleaning procedure. This was the first incident involving someone outside my family that had been diagnosed with PD. This confirmed my skepticism. Oh and by the way, a second opinion revealed no PD.\r\nNow. Here lies the actual issue with this. We are insured, but insurance does not label this a necessary procedure and will not cover the procedure in its entirety. The deep cleaning procedure for all 4 quadrants costs about $498.00 after the co pay. Castle dental will not clean your teeth without this procedure. If you dont have insurance to cover a co pay the amount will be over $1000.00. We are not given an option not to have the procedure. Our option is find another Dentist if want your teeth cleaned. I think what we have here is what I call a Patient / client transfusion. Castle Dental is trying to extract money out of all of us; if we refuse to pay for this questionable procedure we dont get service forcing us to find another Dentist. This makes room for new clients/patients for Castle to scam. My suggestion to anyone who reads this and finds themselves in a similar situation, kindly remind Castle Dental to expect a visit from Date Line NBC.\r\n

They tried to tell me I need a deep cleaning because I had beginning stages of peridontal disease. I was shocked I never even had a cavity so I went back to my regular dentist and paid cash for a routine cleaning (something castle dental refused to do) and she(my regular dentist) was floored that I was told this by the previous dentists. She said my gums and teeth were great and then proceeded to tell me the cleaning they wanted to give me allows them to charge get $1200 from the insurance. It also would have caused major damage to my gums if they had of performed this extensive cleaning. They also tried to have my 7 year old daughter get 8 sealants put on her teeth. This would have allowed another $1000 insurance claim for them. All of which my regular dentist said she did NOT need. STAY AWAY from this dentist!!!!

I used this dental group for 5 years before my insurance changed. I really liked the dentists there. They were gentle and understanding of those that did not tolerate pain well. They also worked with me in a crisis where I broke my partial and let me come in immediately. Not only did they repair it, but did not charge me anything. I really liked this group and hated that my insurance changed so that was not able to use them.
