Word of warning: document EVERYTHING when you want to end the lease (certified, return-receipt mail), because if you read my post and others like it, they WILL try to weasle out of ending the lease. Count on it. I could tell go on to tell you a story of the AMAZING tactics they use to pretend they didn't receive our letter of intent to end the lease, but I'll leave it to your imagination.\n\nI can't give it 1 star because the machines operated pretty well, and we were pretty fortunate with our service techs.\n\nBut watch your lease.

I hate this company. They are liars, cheaters, and use a lot of drugs in the work place so I have heard....I feel bad for anyone that works or has a lease agreement with them. There lack of customer service and the way the treat there employee is terrible. I have heard them talk to there employees in the most horrible ways calling them names, making them cry, and executive doing nothing about it or joining in on the verbal abuse..stay far far away.

This company appeared suspicious to me from the start from all of their radio ads over the years and the occasional drop in salesman. I tried to stay away from them.\nOne day we bought a Sharp MX410N PCL6 from a sister company of ours and it came in damaged. Pacific Office Automation was the only authorized dealer so I held my breath and gave them a try.\nTo my amazement they have excelled in each and every step along the way. This machine did not come from them but they were most helpful at getting it going for the least amount of cost to us. They sent the appropriate tech's out here to address the problem--hardware/software types. They were always punctual and they always went beyond the call to get our issue resolved.\nNow, we are under contract which I feel is reasonably priced. \nThey are here for us and even this morning when I called and told them it was not urgent the best guy--his name is Able-- was here in about an hour. He did a great job as usual--troubleshooting and resolving the issue.\nI have great things to say about Pacific Office Automation.\nThey are a top notch company!\nBernie Mares\nPresident\nVersa Steel\nPortland, Oregon

Man, this is the first time I've ever written a bad review for any business--as a business owner, I understand how damaging they can be. However, I'm completely rankled after my shady experience with these guys!\nI contacted Pacific Office Automation about supplying me with a printer for my small business. The lease agreement was $99/month for 60 months. Yep, five years, equalling almost $6000. I emailed the representative I'd been in contact with and asked how much the printer would cost if I bought it outright or put a large down payment on it, since $6000 over five years seemed pretty intense. His email back said ""It is better to lease because you can upgrade as your business needs change and write it off as a business expense."" That's all, didn't answer my question at all, which roused my suspicion. A quick Google search informed me that I could buy the EXACT SAME PRINTER from zapcopiers online for $2400. Free shipping, delivered within a week. That's just over a third the price for the same thing. I called him to talk to him about it, and he told me that they sell the copier for $4000, but he ended up offering it to me at cost, for $2600. At that point, however, I felt like he'd been neither honest nor forthcoming with me, and wanted nothing more to do with them! If he'd simply answered my (very straightforward) question in the first place, I never would've looked online and we could've avoided the whole thing. I feel like they blatantly tried to wring the most money possible out of me, instead of offering me their product honestly at a reasonable price. \nOn the upside, zapcopiers is awesome!

this business is an absolute joke. they installed parts in my printer that i didn't need. they didn't even ask me ahead of time. they charge outrageous rates. i wrote down the guy's time and he blatantly lied and tried to rip me off 15 minutes, which equals $30. on top of everything, he tried to walk out the door with nearly $500 dollars and the problem i called him in for wasn't even fixed! seriously DO NOT EVEN ATTEMPT TO USE THIS BUSINESS! YOU WILL REGRET IT!

If you like ""used car"" slimy sales experiences, poor customer service, verbal agreements that never make the paper contract, toner that is complete junk, incorrect calculations for CPC, inflexible billing terms, sales reps that do not follow up....ever.....after the contract is signed, then definitely go with POA. \r\n

Your employees exemplify the meaning of customer service they have gone above and beyond at every point. \n\nThey listened to our needs and were able to put together a solid leasing package and sold us the equipment that best meets our needs. Never did I get the feeling they were trying to sell us something that wasn't right for us. They listened, and then fulfilled our needs.

I have had excellent service from your company. The service person calls back within an hour or so after my initial call to your company's Service Department. The call-back gives me the chance to explain what is happening with the machine and the assurance from your repair person that he will be out soon and fix the problem. No matter how serious it seems, they always are able to fix it in a short amount of time. We do not always get the same person, but they all treat our needs with the same concern and confidence that they can take care of our machines problem

We've had Pacific handing our copier/printers for several years. Recently we shopped the pricing, and they were competitive, which made my boss feel good about the money we've spent thus far.\n\nThe sales rep makes all the difference, and I really like ours.

Pros: We have a great rep that takes care of us well

Cons: tech guys are nerdy

.

I don't have much problem with these guys. My printer runs great. I had a problem with a consistent jam, and since their service, there has been no issues. The rep I worked with knew what I needed better than I did. Got my company running quickly. They solved some major issues we were having outside of just our printer. Talking with her was worthwhile. Service has been solid. Then again I wasn't expecting much to begin with.

Most of these complaints are just plain stupid.\r\n\r\nPeople did not read contract.\r\nPeople did not seek help. ( 100 service call, really? )\r\n\r\nThere are many of the same people making the same complaint over and over.\r\n\r\nThere are zero unresolved Better Business Bureau complaints. A company of this size will always do business with somebody who ends up with an ax to grind but the facts speak for themselves.\r\n\r\n

First, I'm not sure why RB42 thinks that just because he is happy with POA no one else has a right to complain about them. Just because he hasn't had a problem doesn't mean the company is good to work with. Apparently those of us who have been screwed by POA don't have a life if we attempt to warn others so that they don't get stuck in the same position. \r\n\r\nI contacted two people at POA one month before I thought our 3 year lease expired and notified them that we did not intend to renew our lease. All I was told was that our lease did not expire for another 3 months. I also told them the machine no longer worked and asked that it be picked up. The machine was not picked up, and nothing else was said, so two months later I contacted one of them again to have the machine picked up. At this time, I was informed that we should have mailed a letter of intent to the company that leases the machine. I'm still not sure who the leasing company is because the notice I get is signed from Pacific Office Automation, but the two people I have talked to claim it is a different company, not POA. I immediately mailed a letter of intent to the address I was given, but it was too late. Now the ""leasing company"" is demanding that we pay $8000 to not renew our lease or else renew our lease at a minimum cost of about $8000. I talk to someone at the ""leasing company,"" and he says I have a signed contract. I do not have a copy of the contract. I talk to someone at POA, and he states that it is my fault that I do not have a contract, all I had to do is ask for one. He also states that he was under no obligation to tell me that he was the wrong person to contact regarding not renewing my lease. He also blames the new leasing company for not telling me what I needed to do to not renew my lease with POA. Let me be perfectly clear: I am not even talking about breaking a lease; I am talking about not renewing a lease. I paid POA over $30,000 over the last 3 years, but that isn't enough for them. No one will take responsibility for not pointing me in the right direction even though they clearly knew what my intent was. I own a small, struggling business, and $8000 could put me out of business, but POA doesn't care. They will take no responsibility for withholding vital information from me that is going to cost me $8000 and possibly my business.

Cons: deceitful practices; terrible customer service

I bought and paid for a machine. They were a month late providing it. The contract stated I would be paid a stated amount as a buy out of my old machine. They never paid me.They took my old machine and never returned it to the company that leased it to me. I am out thousands of dollars now. This is criminal.

This company does not know how to deal tactfully with its customers. Customer Service is pretty much non-existent after the purchase. Buyer Beware.

We bought a Konica from them, and this machine barely stays functional. We have had over 100 service calls, sometimes multiple a day. We are a printing company, so we need a high level of up time, and we were sold a machine that won't do what it was advertised as doing. POA refuses to replace the machine, only replace parts (probably OEM equivalent i.e inferior parts from China). Stay FAR FAR away from this company, and buy direct (our other machine we have we bought direct and it is night and day difference!)

I have been a local business owner in Portland for over 25 years. I've had the same rep for about 11 of them. Pacific Office Automation has been a great company to partner with throughout my business career. It bothers me that people below have the time and energy to mis-represent a company that has proven itself and has almost half of the market share in Portland (so I've read). The privately held company has been good to me and I have recommended them to numerous clients that have been happy with their service and quality of salesmanship. Finding an office solution company to do business with can be a difficult task, but Pacific Office Automation has made it very easy and I couldn't imagine doing business with some public companies like IKON, ABS, CTX, or any of the other companies in town. POA is growing and I am happy to do business with such a company.

I recently had a machine through Associated Business Systems. After my experience with them and other companies like them in Portland I thought that all copier companies were con-artists. That was until I started working with Pacific Office Automation. The pricing was competitive and my sales rep did a great job of evaluating my whole office work flow. All the other companies tried to sell me a copier but POA sold me a solution that changed the way I do business. I have been with them for over two years now and the service and equipment have been great. I encourage everyone to give POA a shot, they will not disappoint.

Never in my 31-year career as an attorney have I done business with such a downright dishonest company. They'll coax you with an impressive sales pitch & make it sound like they'll always be there for you & then you'll quickly realize how badly they lie once the lease goes into effect. They NEVER respond to any of my requests for help on our copy machine & don't return calls. The worst part? THEY SIMPLY DON'T CARE!! You can complain to any management member & it doesn't matter to them... they seem to have adequate business so they clearly don't care about their reputation (YET). Look at the other postings on Citysearch and notice the consistency! Avoid this rip-off company no matter what!

As a small business owner, Pacific Office Automation is by leaps and bounds the worst company that I have ever had to deal with. I wish that I had seen the other reviews on CitySearch before I decided to do business with this extremely questionable company. Their sales practices skirt the boundaries of legality and their service is non-existant. If you actually like getting lectured and called names by a ""top level manager"" or not being able to reach a customer service individual for over a week then I suppose this company would be perfect for you. I could not even begin to explain how we have felt scammed, cheated, lied to and deceived by this horrible sham of a company. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Do not trust anything that they tell you, do not sign anything that they give you, do not even give this place a chance because you will be the next one writing a bad review on CitySearch.

I own a small business in Portland with 4 locations. We needed a commercial grade color printer for our corporate office and got quoted what seemed to be a good lease deal on the surface. What we didn't know, however, is how LOUSY this company is at helping you when your leased equipment breaks down. They NEVER return phone calls, and they love to put you on hold forever and then are often downright rude on the phone. Regarding the contract, they had small print (that I obviously missed) allowing them to charge me an insurance fee that I didn't even need! When we finally got a hold of a representative to fix this obvious rip-off, we were told ""too bad!"" and lost thousands of dollars. I WARN EVERYONE: this compay is corrupt in more than a hundred ways... stay away from them if you want to protect your business!

I think the copiers are okay. They are definitely overpriced. The problem my company has had with POA is that they accidently left a copier at our office and we tried to return it but they refused to accept it and kept sending a bill. Now they have decided they want the copier back, but instead of coming and taking it they call and ask questions about the copier and then hang up when we ask what company they are from. Very very sketchy.

As an office manager I have to deal with several different leasing companies and of all of them this one is the absolute worst. I can never get a straight answer and I am constantly being transferred from person to person. I currently have two machines that are still under contract that do not work at all. I wouldn't recommend them to even my worst enemy.
