I will never take any of my animals back here.\r
My 5 year old cat was steadily losing weight and was lethargic. He developed foul smelling breath and refused to eat. The vet said he needed to have all of his teeth removed and this would cost about $2000. I started asking questions and she came down on the price to $1200. I thought I had no choice. The vet knows best right? He started on antibiotics and within 2 weeks was his old self again. He still has all of his teeth.\r
Against my gut feeling I took my other cat here about 6 months later. The vet prescribed a very lengthy protocol: ear wash, ear drops and eye drops-twice a day. Who can get their cat to allow all of that for any length of time?\r
After 3 months, 4 prescriptions and 2 office visits my cat was beyond sick and I felt she was on her death bed. I requested the vet to admit her to his hospital and treat her there. He refused. He said for me to take her home and make her comfortable. To die?\r
A friend suggested Dr. Tierce at Camp Bowie Animal Clinic. He met us at his clinic after office hours that same day, admitted her and kept her until he got to the bottom of her illness. It was advanced ALLERGIES! She takes a tiny pill twice a day mixed in her food and she is just fine.\r
VCA would have let my cat die and charge me an exorbitant amount. Stay away! They just dont know what they are doing!

I took my cat to this vet last week after a couple days of him vomiting, having a bulging anus and squatting to have a bowel movement with no success and seeming very uncomfortable (This has happened before, records were sent from previous vet showing result of the cat simply being dehydrated). The vet made a physical examination and found no abnormalities in his abdomen and took him for the afternoon to observe him. Later that afternoon I got a call from the vet suggesting we run $400 worth of tests. I denied that option as the cat is very old and the amount of money makes no sense for a cat beyond his years. I suggested we put an I.V. in him as this was the result from the previous dehydration diagnosis, the doctor refused - Charged me $54 for his 'exam'.

Sensing this vet had actually done little to exam my cat, the next day I took my cat to another vet. After examining my cat for 3 minutes she diagnosed him as being constipated (she let me feel the abdomen, the contents were compacted to the size of a golf ball and roughly 3 inches long, easy to feel and something a knowledgeable vet should be able to detect! This didnt happen over night, it was very large!) and dehydrated (previous exam showed other vet this, he refused to hydrate my cat), total fees were $64 for an enema and I took him home to eat and drink. Problem is since resolved.

BEWARE... I called to get a refund for this hack's 'exam', to no avail. This vet is out to make money on unnecessary tests at your expense. Seek out other options so you don't get suckered like I did!

In all the visits i have had to fossil creek i have never been disappointed. When you walk in you are instantly greeted with a smile and you know all the girls there are there to help you and your pet. I have been to a lot of vets before moving with the military but have never met anyone close to these guys. They are amazing! I highly recommend the to everyone, because you know your pet is in the best hands when you go there. They take the time to go over things with you, and CoCo never liked going to the vet anyways but they went slow, and now i think they are better friends with her than i am! A wonderful staff, and great doctors. If you want the best for your pet definatley go here!

Best experience!! I recently moved in the area and needed to take my 12 year old dog in for an exam. I found a free exam coupon on their web site. Everyone was warm and friendly, and really seemed to care about Oliver, my dog. He had some serious issues going on, and both of the dr.'s there that I have dealt with took tons of time out of their schedule to make sure that I understood what was going on, and what steps I needed to take from here. I know my appointment was only supposed to be 30min, but was much longer because they took the time to go over everything with me.

This clinic seems to have made a complete turn around in the past few years. I read a few reviews that seemed disappointing but thought I would check it out for myself. The Dr's there are great! They go over everything with you in detail on what needs to be done for your pets. They have great staff, and are understanding that I cannot afford everything that they recommend. They helped me get my pet taken care of at an affordable rate. They followed up with me after my appointment to make sure my dog was feeling better. They even had a free exam coupon online at their website, that I used for my first appointment. Overall, this was the best vet experience I have ever had. You can tell they are here for the animals they work with.... **highly recommended!**

I took my dog in for yearly check up and was encouraged to purchase a package that was a little over $300, I wasn't expecting that but since my senior schnauzer(8) hadn't had some of these shots/check ups I went for it. One week later he was attacked by a golden retriever and I took him back to see them, it was the most traumatic experience I had ever dealt with and they were wonderful!! They really worked with me and the cost, helped me cut out what wasn't completely necessary and everyone was sooo nice! I am thrilled I picked them for all of the services they provided to me. I dealt with 2 different Dr.'s and both were so professional and helpful, the staff was excellent! I have to add that I did try another clinic up the street for an ear infection and they were a mess!

I took my dog in for heartworm testing and discovered my normal vet had left. Office staff was unprofessional and I realized my old vet made that clinic what it was. Very disappointed with most of the current staff. I am looking for a new clinic.

I'm one of those people that was probably in the same boat as Ken. However, I understood exactly why they wanted me to come in with my pet. She had only seen the Dr. who had left. Therefore, we needed to reestablish a Dr/Patient relationship to get more medication. The Dr. didn't even charge to see her, just did a courtesy exam so that this relationship was established and my pet could get her medication. Love the place and the staff. Just doing what is actually required by law.

Don't go there. First, they couldn't find the records for my visit less than 6 months ago. After calling back, and waiting, they finally found the records. I need medicine for my dog's ear infection, and they said I need to bring my dog back for another visit because the doctor who saw my dog no longer works there. It's the same exact type of infection he had last time. What a bunch of morons.

I changed to these guys because they were close and because my old vet started gouging me. I so wish I had done it sooner!!! What a wonderful group of people. They do many other services including home sitting. They saved a very sick puppy I had gotten from the humane society. I love these guys.

Two times we've had our cats stay with the VCA Fossil Creek Vet. Once one cat was being borded while we were out of town so he could be watched...we couldnt leave him at home because was sick and very dehydrated. Another time we needed to leave our other cat with them so he could have some tests run. Both times our cats escaped from their cages/handlers, and both times the cats were injured. One broke one of his nails off at the base trying to get away; the other bit through his own tongue. \r
\r
We have had cats for a long time, been to many different vets, and borded them before. NEVER had we had this problem. The handlers dont appear to be trained to handle/control cats. If the animals were controlled appropriately, they would have been kept safe. I understand that freak accidents happend, but EACH TIME they've held onto our cats, they have gotten injured from mismanagement.

I applied for employment at this clinic. I have never taken one of my own animals to this clinic, only because we have a hometown clinic that we use. However, this clinic and it's personnel really impressed me. There was a "help wanted" sign on the sign and I really wanted to get my foot in the door so I applied. I was 4 months pregnant when I applied and mentioned my concern of handling cat litter. The woman interviewing me was unbelievably friendly and said that if I was concerned I could wait until after I had my child. She said I was definitely what they were looking for. During this entire meeting there were tons of people coming through the door and each animal was greeted as if it were a well known patient. It was almost childlike...a very appealing atmosphere, both for customer and employee. If we were to relocate to that area, I would more than likely switch to the Fossil Creek Clinic.

PROS: Great personal service
CONS: None

We have used this vetrenarian office on a few occassions and felt that they did a good job. One of the times we went, they seemed to be understaffed. Overall, our dogs have received good care for the services they received. The prices are a little higher than other vets in the area. We had no problems with this facility but would probably go to another local one for better price and location.
