Please keep in mind this place is relatively expensive and claims to be ?luxury?.
Upon returning home from work I find a letter from management stating that bikes (PLURAL) are being stolen from inside of our ?secure? apartment complex. I have been living here since the building first opened and this was the first time management notified tenants of thefts in the building. I go downstairs to check on my bike and find that it is gone and the lock was broken. Notify the concierge who does nothing except say that they suspect someone is loading them into a car because they don?t see anyone riding away on them.
Here is where my rant begins about this place:
1.The overall security is very sketchy and management is doing NOTHING about it except collecting rent. Why did management wait until a bunch of bikes were being stolen before notifying tenants? I know the answer to this (they do not want to look bad). However, after the first bike, people could have moved their property to a more secure location if they were notified of the thefts. Further, it just makes you wonder what other criminal activities are going on that tenants are not being notified about. Car thefts, break-ins, etc. Not reporting crimes that occur in the building is very irresponsible. Even after notifying desk that property was stolen, no attempt was made to view security cameras, heighten security going fwd, etc. All that was done by management was to wait until many bikes were stolen and then suggest getting a kryptonite lock (which is what I had).
2.Even with a ?24 hour concierge? common areas are still being abused, i.e. thefts, leaving common area dirty, etc.
3.What is the point of having cameras if nobody is checking them and they are not keeping an eye on people?s property?
4.Why is the garage door always open, even when there is no parking attendant on duty?
5.Why can anyone (resident or public) leave the parking garage as long as they have a car (sensor operated)? If you pay to have access to come in, you should also be required to have access to leave. All someone has to do is follow a resident into the garage. Once they are in, they can leave whenever they want without having to get past a parking attendant or using a remote to open the door. Which apparently is occurring which is why many bikes are being stolen.
6.The coffee machine rarely works and when it does there are no cups. Why can?t management manage a single coffee machine? If it is contracted, find a new company.
7.How come it is procedure for parking passes to go to the concierge desk that in turn just sits on them and does not notify tenants that they have arrived?
8.Too frequent (for a brand new building) scheduled visits by maintenance staff who have their own keys to our units. Great that they are maintaining the building, but not great that they do not work around your schedule, just give a couple hour time window during the middle of the day and ask that you secure your animals. This way I have to leave my dog locked in my bedroom all day while I am at work for what appears to be about once a month.
9.They also promised a dog-run, but I am yet to find it.
Needless to say, we will not be renewing our lease.
