Pros:
-Nice location
-In unit washer and dryer
-Dishwasher (albeit a cheap one)

Cons:
-Old building (windows need replacing, intercom system is broken, insulation is very poor, sound proofing is nonexistent)
-Maintenance is very poor. The guy who fixes things has zero skill or knowledge. We used to just laugh at some of his projects (who used only one screw when a piece of hardware clearly has two screw holes?) and we had to fix several things ourselves, such as re-hanging a cabinet that he didn't know how to put up.
-The management company is pretty lousy and the on-site manager is a bit batty. Liz does in fact usually seem drunk or high. Her apartment reeks of cigarette smoke to the point that she can stink up the hallway. When we moved out, she accused us of altering the apartment in ways that we definitely hadn't. She forgot conversations that we had had even a week or so prior. She definitely wanted to keep every penny of our deposit and was a bit shady about it. We also have reason to believe that she snooped around our apartment while we weren't home. We decided to just let it go so that we didn't need to deal with her anymore. It's actually a shame that she has a job when so many good people are unemployed.

If you do live in this building, document EVERYTHING. Do a very thorough walk through report that marks absolutely everything. If you have any conversation with Liz about money or the terms of your lease, make her write it down. If she takes anything from your unit, such as a broken door, make sure she gives you a receipt or she'll forget that she took it and charge you for it. Make sure you're home any time she wants to come in. Fix as much as you can yourself--even if you're not "handy," you'll likely do a much better job. And I'd try to be nice to Liz. Anyone who is that out of it but still has a job must be related to the owner or something. When she talks to you, just smile and nod.

the apt. mgr liz is crazy. she always seems stoned or drunk. no upkeep and maintenance was done. garbage everywhere. rusty gates, cigarette butts, trash, unkempt grounds with overgrown bushes and trees. i lved in a 2 bedroom bottom floor unit and hated it!!! they only give you one parking space and the street parking sucks in the summertime. i remember when i moved in the place was so dirty and they still didnt give my deposit back after i left the place cleaner. if your looking in alki beach, go for alki beach properties instead. i've been living in an apt 2 blocks away for the last year and i have to say theres a major difference.

cheap apartments! the price is low, for a reason. i lived here 3 years ago and my girlfriend was looking at them just 2 weeks ago. everything is dated, the intercom system is ghetto with sharpie pen written for numbers. my neighbor had her car broken into twice and the trash was always full. you can hear your neighbors above and below you. the walls are like paper, and the building is maintained really poorly. it wasn't a total dump, but i wouldn't recommend it at all! the managers are nice, although a little odd and very forgetful. not a fan of her bf/maintence guy

Apartments are very nice, and the building is in a good neighborhood. It's a little dated looking on the outside, but nice inside. Off street parking is convenient, neighbors are friendly, and the appliances are good. You can often hear the people above you, as well as sounds from the hallway. The manager, Liz, sometimes appears under the influence when she talks to you, but she and the maintenance guy do keep the grass mowed. Note that there are a fair number of smokers in the building, and Liz lets people smoke on the balconies.
