.

Shoaleh Teymour is a Middle Eastern Belly Dance instructor. She does not have one set studio, I believe. She teaches through the North Penn Community Education Program and at Grand View Hospital. She also does private lessons and is available to teach at "girly parties."

She's been dancing her whole life as this type of belly dance is part of her culture. She took structured classes years ago and became a teacher. I have been going to her classes for 6 months now and I love them. So far, I have stuck with her beginner's class, but she is going to be offering an intermediate class in the Fall through the North Penn program. She is very knowledgeable in her art and believes it's something all women can do regardless of dance experience and abilities.

Classes are very fun. She is a very gentle teacher and doesn't make you feel bad if you can't get a move right. She offers individual attention to each student. She is very encouraging. At the end of each session (usually 8 weeks through the North Penn program), she does a performance for the students and let's other students give a performance if they wish. She begins each and every class with gentle stretching exercises.

The prices for her class through North Penn are very reasonable. She also sells some belly dance attire, such as hip scarves, but doesn't get mad if you choose to buy them off eBay.

I highly recommend her classes as they are fun and very good for you. Women of all ages and skill level can enjoy her classes. It's great for pregnant women, too!
