I am not one to write reviews but I am so upset and disappointed in Mossy Toyota for what happened to me I just have to. If I can save just one other person from bearing what I had to bear these last three days, it was worth the time. BEWARE OF MOSSY TOYOTA SERVICE!!! I no longer trust them, nor will I ever take my truck here again. I have been going here for YEARS and I now think, maybe I have been screwed before and just not know it. For those that read these and care about going to a place with good, HONEST service, I am telling you do NOT go to Mossy Toyota. Here is the shortened tale of my hellish experience at Mossy Toyota. My 2006 Toyota Tacoma was having issues so I took it into Mossy Toyota, I had a feeling it was only a spark plugs issue due to all that I had researched on the web prior to bringing it in. I even let the service manager know that is what I thought it was. He stated that it could be that, or it could be many different other things as well. The first diagnostic they ran came back that I had a misfire in cylinder #3 which can mean a plethera of different things. The service manager called me to tell me that it was definitely more than a spark plug issue with an error like that. I asked him if that error could include a spark plug issue but he insisted that it most likely wasn't and that I should get a 2nd, more extensive diagnostic test done, he quoted $240-$360 for that test, and I know that to get my spark plugs replaced it was only a $150 job. I requested that this be done prior to the 2nd test due to it being cheaper and it's what I read was the issue. They did it and he called me back to tell me my truck was still having issues. I agreed then to do the 2nd diagnostic. That diagnostic came back that cylinder #3 was wet and coolant was getting into the combustions chamber, which means I had a blown head gasket. In the end they told me this was going to be a $3000 job. $3000!!! I then called a few different shops to see what another shop would do it for. I found Aiwa Auto Shop on yelp, it had 5 star and they said it would only cost $2000. So I decided to take my truck their instead. I just had a bad feeling about Toyota at this point. I had Aiwa run a full diagnostic. First they reset the engine computer and then did the diagnostic. Their diagnostic came back NO issues. They drove it around for 60 miles then called me up. I DIDN'T HAVE A BLOWN HEAD GASKET!!!! I now have my truck back and it hasn't had any signs of any issues. Toyota was going to charge me $3000 for something that I didn't even need!! Thank God that Aiwa was an honest shop because they could have taken me for $2000 due to Toyota making me think it was a blown head gasket!! Take note, this whole ordeal took 3 days for me to deal with, I had to rent two rental cars, miss 6 hours of work and pay two shops!!! The teaching in this tragic, expensive story, TOYOTA lied and they would have taken me for $3000 without even blinking an eyelash. Do you want to trust and leave your car in the care of a Company like this?!! Thanks for reading. I hope this helps someone out there!
