This posting is in reference to the below posting: ??Just Saying? by consultant Douglas Berry.

The advertisement states ??rooms over 200 square feet will be considered as two rooms.? This statement is ambiguous. The technicians did not measure the living room therefore quoting the living room at 450 feet is an assumption by the employees of Pacifica Air Care. Previous professional carpet cleaning companies quoted and charged the living room as 2 rooms, Pacifica Air Care charged us at the rate of 3 rooms.

Previous professional carpet cleaning companies did remove all the stains in the carpet. Stains can in fact return. Google it, you will find several sites regarding this information. George was judging the work based on what we could still see in the carpet. Based on the ??professional carpet cleaning service? done by Pacifica Air Care, a rented or borrowed machine may have done a better job. Secondly, as a professional carpet cleaning service I would expect stain removal to be included in the price.

The dryer vent cleaning was a complete joke. Yes, they shoved a hose into the dryer vent. In fact they returned a second time because the dryer went from taking two cycles to dry the clothes, to taking three or more cycles to dry, not much of an improvement after a ??professional job.?

After purchasing a ??Lint Eater? and cleaning the dryer vent out ourselves we pulled a grocery bag size amount of lint out of our dryer vent. This is after TWO ATTEMPTS BY PACIFICA AIR CARE.

I have one question: Does the quality of service depend on who pays the bill? Pacifica Air Care??s representative states: ??BTW: The bill was never going to be paid by George R. as he would have people think, but rather by his landlord.? Does it really matter whose pocket the money eventually comes out of? I expect a service to be done and done completely no matter whom eventually pays for it. Secondly, as far as Pacifica Air Care is concerned we did run the charges through our bank account, therefore wouldn??t that make us your customer?

Regarding the ??so called profanity?. There was none. Yes, we were upset after the technicians showed up three hours later than the scheduled appointment, them finish cleaning the carpet and still seeing several spots and speaking with the ??supervisor? on the phone and being treated horribly. I guess profanity to Pacifica Air Care is telling them they are not doing a satisfactory job. I am also curious where the profanity is in the review by George R. below? Apparently Douglas Berry needs to read the review thoroughly before posting things that are untrue.

Lastly I would like to point out that after the second visit by Pacifica Air Care to clean the dryer vent, and still being unsuccessful, the owner, if it was the owner of the company, told us to ??stop calling.? Hmm so let me get this straight?.we paid you for a job we were able to complete on our own!

Pacifica Air Care needs to refund the money for the job they were unsuccessful in completing!

I also called this company from a mailer. Should have read reviews before.
My wife could smell something coming out of the vents so I picked up the mailer and called. They came out when they said they would for the $55 cleaning, then tacked on $35 each for two of my 3 air intakes (only one was free...)
There was mold in the system (I don't know if that was true or just dust...) but we had them clean that out for $100 for this another $100 for that. My wife is still reacting to the smell that is still coming out of the system.
We decided to buy the $600 UV light (free installation) you can buy the same thing for less than $300 online and it takes 15 min to install or so they say. The UV light they had in the truck apparently was defective, so they installed the unit without the light. They said they'd install it when the filters got here (1-2 weeks) ... I still paid the $600... over a month later still no UV light...
We also baught two filters to the tune of $129 a piece. You can buy the same filters online for $40. Plus you get the same delivery because they come in the mail you install themselves.

My total bill was 858 for filters and uv light and 1123 for the anti bacterial, sanitize, labor etc. With tax our total was $2169.20

I've called multiple times durring buisness hours on different days to get them to come back out. I've not been able to talk to a person as of yet. I left one message and all the other times I've called the answering machine says that their voice mail is full so I can't leave another message. No call back...

I felt we were mislead with the advertizement, the workmanship was reasonable at best, price poor, and customer service so far has been terrible.

And it appears that quite a few customers experienced what I did. I should have read this before I called Pacifca Air Care. We have a small house with 5 registers and 2 cold air returns. At the end of the day we were charged $119 for our cleaning because "the cold air returns were extra." Still can't figure out how returns cost $70-80 more, but I think that's a joke. In addition, I examined each register and return after they left, and they either did a poor job on one of the registers or they didn't do it at all. Significant dust bunnies were still present. I'm glad I didn't have to experience multiple add-ons to the tune of $500+ or more. I'll go with a local, reliable provider next time like Olson Energy Service who cleaned our furnace and ducts when we first bought the house.

George R. claims that other companies were ??able to remove the same stains easily?: If so, why were the stains still there? If those are new and different stains, how does George know someone else would have been able to remove them?
George R. believes he could have done a better job himself, using rented equipment. George R. saying so does not mean it??s so?George is judging our performance against his imaginary carpet cleaning.
No legit carpet cleaning company can claim or guaranty the removal of all stains. To expect complete removal of all stains, no matter what caused them, is unrealistic. In this case, we might have been able to remove the stains, would George have allowed us to apply stain remover, but when George R. was offered an application of stain remover at $25.00 per room, he declined. George R. Wanted the stains gone, but didn??t want to pay for removing them.
As to George R.??s claim that the dryer vent was not cleaned properly: If so, why has he not called us to let us know he had a problem? We would have come back to look into it.
Georg R.??s final bill came to $130.00. This included $55 for cleaning an unlimited number of vents of a single furnace + a free dryer vent cleaning + steam cleaning 4 rooms of carpet. George R.??s hallway was cleaned for free, because our technician needed to get to the next customer and didn??t want to listen to George R.??s use of profanities, a habit evident in his review.
BTW: The bill was never going to be paid by George R. as he would have people think, but rather by his landlord.
Making customers happy is most important to any business. Pacifica has approximately 2,000 new customers each year, most are happy but few are not. Websites such as The Insider give customers opportunities to complain, rant, and submit claims with no oversight or verification, yet gives vendor no venue or opportunity to address those complaints. We are responding to this complaint in hopes The Insider Pages will give us a fair chance to explain, thus allowing the potential customer the opportunity to really be an ??Insider?.

Finally, please consider the following: If this site had a customer ratings system, George R. would get zero stars and would not be recommend as a customer to anyone. He will take up a lot of your precious time to try to get a free service with perfect results, and subject you to profanities in the process.

We thought some kudos should go the way of Pacifica Air Care, as we had a good experience with them after a string of bad experiences with others:
We just bought our first house and were excited about moving in. We didn??t have a big fat budget for extras such as cleaning carpet, but the carpets needed cleaning. We shopped around carefully, asking lots of questions supplied to us by friends with some bad experiences. A couple of companies actually came out only to give us different prices from the prices quoted on the phone, once they were at our house. We sent them away. We called the Pacifica people from a mailer we received. They gave us an estimate over the phone. We decided to try them. When those guys came over, they mentioned a couple of other things we should get done such as scotch guard and a deeper cleaning, but considering our budget, we declined. They went ahead and did the work, got very good results, charged the amount we agreed to pay on the phone, and were very nice throughout the process. We would use them again in a heartbeat, and recommend them to all our friends.

I wish i could rate them 0 stars the service and job done was that bad.....

So they showed up almost 2 hours late with no phone call (I had to call them) when they showed up they proceeded to tell me my living room was over 600 sq ft??? my whole house is only 1600 sq ft so my living room is 1/3 the size of my 4 bdrm 2 bth house w/2 car garage????? WTF. they said i would have to pay an additional charge for the living room because it was the size of 3 normal rooms (I measured when they left and its 400 sq ft, and i'm being generous) so i argued with them and he said thats what they had to charge.. i said "whatever" and agreed.. the job they did was pretty bad, i told them i could have done better with a rented steamcleaner. there were still stains in the carpets that the last people were able to remove easily. they also cleaned my dryer venting as it was "kind of" clogged (would take 1-2 cycles to fully dry the clothes. when they left the venting was COMPLETELY clogged and took me $175.00 to have a professional come out to complete the job they thoroughly messed up. I wouldnt reccomend these con artists to my worst enemy let alone any one i know. if you value your money and sanity just pay a little more and have ther job done correctly the first time....

Awesome! These guys did a very good job, charged fairly and were nice too!
Beware: They set appointments with arrival window of 2-3 hours. I had to wait an hour and half into my arrival window before they showed up. (Well worth the wait thought!)
I suggest you call them on the morning of your appointment to narrow down the time of arrival.
I would give them 5 stars for value, but must take one off for waiting an hour and a half. Awesome people!

Pacifica technician rid my duct system from a persistent mildew problem. He was the third to try, but the first to succeed. Didn't cost an arm and a leg as those who couldn't do the job right did. If you have a tough problem, these are the people to fix it!

Pacifica Air Care technician did a good job cleaning my carpet. He managed to eliminate some pet spots I didn't think he could, and improved the appearance and smell of my carpet. The promotional price was very good as well. However, they did not tell me in advance about the noise level made by the carpet cleaning equipment. Scared my birds half to death. I would give these guys 5 stars for the quality and price of their work, but must take one star off for scaring my birds. I recommend these guys toanyone, but find a quiet place for your birds before they turn their machines on...

Had my carpets cleaned by these guys. they did a great job but cost a fraction of what the regulars charge. they were polite and quick. Most importantly, they got the stains out of my carpet. I would give them 5 stars, but they arrived closer to end of their arrival window, so 4 stars it is!

When I turned my heat on in the end of october, a foul odor came out of my ducts. I scheduled a negative pressure cleaning with one of the companies who offers this service for $29.00. in the coupon envelope. They showed up, but when they left my ducts still smelled bad. I called Pacifica Air Care and explained my problem. They told me they will stick with me until the problem was solved. The technician who came out was very knowledgable and patient. He explain how my heating system worked. He drew some diagrams and gave me options for action. I felt I was fully informed at each step of the way. He ended up scrubbing and sanitizing my ducts. Although the final bill was higher than the basic $55.00 flyer offer, I felt I got a great deal! My odor problem disappeared, my family was relieved, and we also noticed there was less dust in the house. I recommend this company to anyone who has a duct problem!

Pacifica Air Care special coupon offer is a great bargain. After a bad experience with another company I called from a coupon, I was apprehensive to try Pacifica. My wife talked me into it, and it turned out to be a good bargain. Catch them during a special and you may never use those big companies again.

These people were fast, efficient, thorough and polite. They were about half the price of some well known competitor! They are on my calender for next year! I warmly recommend them!

I had a coupon for $55 air duct cleaning. When they arrived he said they had to inspect first. He inspected and then proceeded to take pictures of the furnace and said there was alot of mold. The price of the work continued to grow, and finally the ending price was $1076 so I thought, but to my surprise he calculated in some other things that we did not discuss, and the price was suddenly $1314. I believe he took advantage of me because of my concern of having mold and mildew inside of my air ducts. I do not reccomend these people. They are ripping people off. Do not be taken in by the $55 coupon they are a bunch of money hungry people who do not have your best interest at heart.

I called this company after receiving a coupon for carpet cleaning and Upholstery cleaning. I asked them how long it would take for the carpets to dry. I was told 3-5 hours. We went ahead and scheduled for the next day from 1-4. We did get a call at 12:30 stating they would not be there until 4. at 4:30 still not technicians and I called them. My concern was the carpets and furniture would not be dry by the time we were going to be going to bed. The person I spoke to assured me they would be there momentarily and that they would move the furntiure back and it would be dry. I explained that one of the rooms needed to be dry so we could put the bed back. He assured me they would clean that room first. they finally showed up at 5:15 and started on the floors and the furniture.. They almost immediately try to sell me stuff for the carpet and the furniture. They informed me that the cushions were not covered for the 140.00 price to clean the furniture. I opted to not have them cleaned. They then told me I needed to do deep cleaning on the furniture and that would cost more. Then a few hours into the process they asked me for a towel because they had got so much water and cleaning solution while cleaning the furniture and need to clean it up. Finally just prior to finishing they wanted me to scotch guard all my furniture and the carpets. They tried telling me that every time you clean your carpets the steam cleaning removes any scotch-guard or stain resistant product you have on your carpets. I declined the scotch-guard on the carpet but did have them put it on the furniture. All of this cost us over 500.00. Then we discovered after they left that our wood floors were soaked where they cleaned the furniture. We then went to bed and in the morning the floors and the furniture were still soaking wet. I then went to work and called them to discuss how unsatisfied we were. they were not very willing to do anything more than come back to our house to see if the floors and the furniture were really still wet. I explained no one would be home until 6pm and I would assume it would be dry by then. The woman I spoke to said she wanted her supervisor call me back. The supervisor(who actually was the owner) called me back and I explained the floors and furniture were still wet and that I was promised that it would be dry in 5 hours and that we waited all day for this appointment. We finally negotiated that he would credit my credit card 100.00. Which we have not received to date. I then went home and moved the furniture and discovered there was still water on the floors. I dried it up and then moved the furniture(that was still wet). We then noticed white marks on the floor. We tried for a few weeks to get them to come back out. I took pictures and emailed them to the owner. His solution was 2 weeks later to send the technician out to look at the floors. He came with some sort of wood putty to put over the marks and then have the floor cleaned and buffed. We tried to explain you cannot just cover the marks and that we would not be having him apply anything to the floor. We ended up calling another hardwood floor company to give us and estimate. We were told the entire floor needs to be re-finished. You could not just do the marks. We also were told by the same company that the cause of the marks was either having cleaning solution on the floor or tape pulled up. This is the only way the finished would be removed from the floor. We tried to talk to the owner about resolving the issue and he refused. He stated that the marks were from the furniture being moved on the floor and not the cleaning solution. They then wanted one of their vendors to come and repair the floors. He also said that he would fix the floors or the $100 but not both. We tried to explain the credit had notthing to do with the floors and he still needed to credit us. We have not been credited to date. I will be reporting to the BBB. Never use this company they are horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We will be taking them to court to have the cost of the floors paid by them.

If I could I would give them zero stars! I was told they would be at my home between 10:30-1:00 pm. They showed up at 2:00 after I made at least 3 phone calls. Throughout the entire process they tried to upsell me on everything. Seriously, they were relentless. It went on and on and in hindsight I should have told them to leave. After 2 1/2 hours I had an important appointment and I couldn't get them out of my house. They still continued to try to convince me to buy more services. I had to watch them as they conveniently missed several of my ducts. After I pointed it out to them they insisted they had cleaned them until I pointed out they were full of debris. They damaged my hardwood floors and the absolute kicker was they didn't want to take my check. They wanted a credit card. lol I will never use them again and I stongly urge nobody else to. I believe the good reviews came from employees or their friends and family. Be careful......

I just used their service and I am completely dissatisfied. When my wife called to make the appointment she was told it would be about a 3 hour process and made an appointment from 10 to 1. She confirmed that the $59 coupon she had would include a cleaning of all vents in the house, one return, and that the cleaning of the vents would be confirmed with a camera. We were also told to expect the technicians to call about a half hour before our appointment to confirm that we were home. Our first surprise came when the 2 man crew showed up at our door at 9:30, not a big deal, but it was only a precursor of what was to come. They started cleaning our return and asked if we would like to pay additionally to have the second cleaned, which we did. I explained that our main concern was the foul smell coming from the vents and that the smell originated in our laundry room and has since spread to other rooms.

The cleaning went on for the next few minutes and I was told, ??There is a problem?. One of the service men led me to the furnace and proceeded to take the cover off. He then scraped inside the blower with his finger and showed me the dirt that came off and explained that he would need to clean the furnace and blower as well and that he thought this was the source of the smell. He then took a look at my filters and told me, ??I can tell you these aren??t very good.? Whether he was referring to the brand or the condition I am not sure. They are 3M Filtrete High Performance filters and not the bargain brand and I replaced them 2 months ago. I told him this and he then pulled them out and decided that they weren??t bad but that I should probably replace them every 3 to 4 months.

When he came inside we started looking at the estimated cost to clean whole unit and the cost of chemicals. When he was done my $59 cleaning plus the $35 for the extra intake was now going to be $870 before tax. I explained that I did not have the money for that and he then drew a diagram of how a heating system works and explained that if I didn??t pay for the whole cleaning I wouldn??t get rid of the smell and that cleaning the vents would be a waste. I told him again that I did not have the money and he basically said okay it is your choice. They cleaned some more and then left.

When they pulled out of my driveway it was 10:33. It evidently took them less than an hour to clean the 20 or so registers that we have plus both returns. It would be nice if that were true but I went and pulled a couple of the registers up and can see that they weren??t cleaned, there is still dust and debris at the bottom of them. The registers that were cleaned look great looking down them, but I have no idea if any of the duct work was cleaned. I??m not sure if the technicians know either since I never saw them checking with a camera or mirrors.

The smell is not coming from the blower or the furnace. I cannot smell anything coming from the heater itself. It is clear and evident that the smell is in the duct, and it is still there. I went and checked my heater after they left as well to make sure that the filters were put back in place properly; they weren??t. There was a 2 inch gap above each filter where it wasn??t pulled back into place.

Maybe it is my fault. Perhaps I should have stood over the technicians to make sure they were doing their jobs. Personally, I do not like someone watching over my shoulder as I work and do not need that type of motivation do my job, but I guess we aren??t all professionals. I tried extending a little professional courtesy to their technicians and it is my loss. I have 2 neighbors and a coworker that wanted me to tell them about my experience because they are in need of the same service. Needless to say, I will not be referring their services to them, I will be referring Pacifica Air Care to the Better Business Bureau. I am so shocked at the service I received from this company. NOT ONLY did these guys not show up to the first appointment OR EVEN CALL to say they weren??t, but they COMPLETLY ripped me off. After I refused for them to clean my furnace after they inspected it, they became belligerently disrespectful and refused to take my payment claiming they put $200 in chemicals inside of the furnace???? Really? But you were only inspecting it. I had to call my husband, brother, and cousin to get these disrespectful men out of my home. I have NEVER experienced such service. I??ve reported them to the BBB, and the Kent police department, because they sabotaged my furnace my unscrewing some wires and luckily I had a HVAC specialist come in, because I had a hunch. He was flabbergasted, as it could have burned my home down, and it would have been hard to detect, that-- that was the problem!!!! I??m taking them to court, please, please, pleaseeeeeeee BEWARE.

They were nice enough, but I feel like I got screwed. They came to do a air duct cleaning and it was supposed to be $59. Well I just bought the house and it was older and the vents were nasty, but the cleaner said that I needed my furnace cleaned if I was going to have it make a difference and it was like $400 to clean it. Then he wanted me to by chemicals that were a extra 300 to treat it. It was sort of a joke. Of course I payed the 400 for the furnace,but now i am regretting it. I think I should have just went with sears for a lot better job.

These people are a joke! They had to reschedule my initial carpet cleaning service because the carpet techinician were running late. No big deal, it happens. When they finally get there 2 days later they keep trying to pressure me into buying a crazy amount of services when all i wanted was a simple cleaning. After telling the techinician about 6 times no he finally gave up. I had a pet urine spot that was that needed to be taken care of so I paid the extra $125 for the enzyme treatment to remove the smell, this was guaranteed. I noticed after a day or so that the smell has not gone away so I called them to have them come back out and re-treat. They have recheduled with me 3 times now and have been avoiding my calls. They never call to tell me they are going to be late, they wait for me to call after waiting an hour after the scheduled appointment time and they always have the same line "I was just about to call you, the technician are running late today we will need to reschedule." Why make appointments if you're not going to keep them? I've been working on this problem for 2 weeks now and it still hasn't been resolved. They were not only courteous and friendly but did a very thorough job at a much more reasonable price.
I have had this done by a more well known name. They basically did the same thing as them but not as thoroughly and certainly cost more.
You will definitely be my ??go to? guy from now on.

They were direct, knowledgeable and honest on the phone they exceeded my expectations when the came to do the job, Not only did they do what was expected, and were very professional they exceeded my expectations which is very rare in the service industry these days. I would recommend them to any body and will. A REAL VALUE!!!

The service we received was excellent!
He was thorough very friendly and pleasant to work with. We saw lots of unwanted debris and dust post re-model. We can feel the difference in our air quality. We recommend him.
