If you don't want to bring your own food or get stuck eating the concession food at the zoo try this place. The food is actually very good and the prices are better than what you will find inside the zoo. You won't be disappointed.

The Denver Zoo does allow you to bring your own food onto the grounds, and there are several places where you can sit & eat. However, the Samburu Grill, the zoo's main eatery, located just west of the main entrance, is definitely worth checking out. The food is more diverse and less expensive than many people would expect. Not only that, most of it is of higher quality than many people would expect as well. The pizzas and burgers are not so great, but the burritos are large, tasty, and a good value. The tuna is delicious--and the zoo is careful to get it from supppliers that are on 'the green list' of sustainable seafood! Be sure to also check the list of the day's specials. They are often the best food of the day. You can also feel good knowing that your 'plastic' untensils and plates are actually made from scraps of things such as sugar cane or potatoes that might have otherwise ended up in the trash. When you have put them in the trash, they will decompose fairly quickly.
