THE BEST!!!!! The Chef is world class out of New York. After my first visit I came back the next 4 days in a row and always ordered the same dish. Since my first visit I have tried everything on the menu, it is all Great! I have eaten Italian food in North end of Boston at the oldest Italian Restaurant in the United States, iL Forno's is better! The last time I had food this good I was in Rome! Chef Daniel has a true passion for his pasta dishes, makes his own cheese, bakes his own bread, makes his own pasta, and uses the absolute best ingredients. Pizza is Great too,,, Price is Very very good since the food is the absolute best.. This place is well worth the drive, this is what I tell all my Frisco patients; iL Forno's has the Best Italian food in the North Dallas Area!!

We've been recommending Il Forno to all of our friends. It's by far the best Italian food in the northern suburbs. The bolognese is very traditional, and completely outstanding. The baked ziti is the biggest hit with our kids, who cannot stop eating it. Even something as simple as the complimentary garlic rolls are excellent. Go as often as you can!

This restaurant just opened in the old Viola Bakery location near Alma/McDermott and we have already been there twice. Their calamari is EXCELLENT. Besides that we have tried the margharita pizza which was also great. The second time we went, I had the eggplant parm which I would not recommend, it was really chewy. Another person with us had the chicken parm and liked it, he said the chicken was good, and someone else had the stromboli which he also liked. Their iced tea is also good. The only issue I have with this place is the waiters come over almost too frequently and they try to train at the table which I don't agree with. I have been a trainer at several restaurants and I don't think they should be explaining things to the trainee at the table while the customer is trying to talk to the waiter. Explain over to the side after you are away from the table. Otherwise we will be back. Yummy sauce.
