I took a client to Pisces for lunch but was not impressed. The service was lagging; we had to ask repeatedly for things like napkins and our food. The sushi was tasty but took ALONG time to get to our table and appeared to be sloppily made. I won't be going back to Pisces.

We've heard about this place from few people of all you can eat sushi lunch. I was very pleased with the food, price and service, I don't understand why people complain being charged for wasting the food. Our server told us about it and the warning was literally printed in their menu. Frequently, I dine in here with my clients, dinner sushi is way more extensive than lunch, as always sushi is really fresh/presentable. One thing that people might want to consider is that when the place is packed, it will take a while to get the sushi. We usually order few kitchen items and kick back with few drinks special from the bar while waiting for sushi. Overall, this place is great for the sushi, presentation, and customer serivce at its best

A friend and I went for the all you can eat lunch. I found the sushi to be very basic and sloppily made, but that isn't the bad part. We left four or five slices of sushi roll on the the plate. the waitress informed us she would have to charge us five dollars for what we didn't eat.Now I don't believe in being wasteful but you better be a part of the clean plate club if you decide to give the lunch a try

Hearing Pisces offered a $11.95 all you can eat sushi lunch menu sounded awesome so today, myself and 3 others went to check it out. Half price bottled wine was a good value however it took FOREVER to get our sushi. There was only one sushi chef - in all fairness, it was after the rush but come one guys the $11.95 offer was still under the clock! Honestly unless you have 3 hours to spare and can take advantage of all you can eat, it's really not worth it. Atmosphere is pleasant and the wait staff was nice. Food was decent but certainly not the best I've had in Charlotte. Press, in downtown Charlotte (Trade St.) is much better (and if you request it, they'll make something new for you).

I went to Pisces last night with a coworker after seeing ""great reviews"". My half-priced $6 Mojito was $4 (Oh but that was a misprint). The limes in the Mojito had brown peels and there was only one mint leaf (which was also brown). My coworker's Club Soda w/Lime also had the brown skinned limes. This was not a great first impression, since everything about Sushi should be fresh.

We ordered the sushi boat. It came out after a good wait and was adequate. The fish was pretty fresh, but not the freshest I have eaten. Fish portions were of a good size and the presentation was average.

The Caterpillar roll was scrumptious.

Our waitress, the wait staff and even hostess were all standing nearby, but looking rather inattentive. When one of my flimsy chopsticks broke, it took a while to flag someone down (and the place 50% occupied).

5 Stars? No
1 Star? No
2 Stars? YES - But they could improve by focusing on the details. (Please get better chopsticks)

There are really cool restaurants in town, and most of them serve sushi, Enso, Niko's, but this place is awesome! I took my girlfriend and sat in the little booths that are like you are all by yourself... really cool!

the sushi is awesome, and she had Hibachi that rocked as well. They had $2 domestics so all in all our tab was pretty low considering Sushi... I will definitely be back there soon!

Great lunch for $9, I prefer going there for dinner because I do not want to rush through it during lunch. The sushi is better than I can describe so you just have to try it out yourself. They have specials daily but I love their sake bomb and saketini. As for sushi, my favorites are their bobcats roll and crunchy spicy tuna. Last time I was there with my husband, he ordered this okonomiyaki (looks like a pancake with toppings) which was so good that I had to steal it from him and ate the whole thing. Overall, amazing sushi, friendly servers at a great price

I couldn't ask for more out of this place. My boyfriend and I sat in these really cool booths, and felt all alone. Our appetizer was great, our waitress was very friendly, sake-tini's we awesome, I had the cucumber one. Then there is the sushi. I ate 3 rolls! My boyfriend doesn't like sushi, but he had the Hibachi Fillet and it was to die for! Can't wait to go back!

This place has the freshest sushi, they make it right after you order them so there's no way it is mass-produced. I dine in on average 2-3 times per week either for lunch or dinner. You can't beat any place in Charlotte that serves lunch sushi for $9, given with a wide variety of sushi (mostly places would only serve you rolls not that many types of fish to pick from). They do get busy during lunch especially on Thursday and Friday. Usually I get my food on average of 15 mins or so (1 time it did take them about 30 mins but the place was packed with people waiting outside). It doesn't make any sense for someone to get their sushi after an hour and half no matter how busy they might be. I do suggest order everything that you can eat at the beginning but do not waste anything including rice because their menu and servers clearly stated that you will be charged if you waste the food (i.e. picking out the fish of the rice is a No No, I have seen people done that few times and tried to argue their way out of paying). During lunch, there are 3 sushi chefs and this week I noticed a new sushi chef so I guess they just hired another one. Overall, I like the interior design, friendly service and most importantly their sushi is really fresh.

Pros: Friendly Staffs, $9 Lunch, Fresh Sushi

.

During lunch for their ?all you can eat sushi? they only have two sushi ""chefs"" for the entire place. It took one hour and a half for us to get the first part of our order. The sushi is mass produced at a very rapid pace and it is not accomplished artfully. Very, very sloppy presentation. The fish and other seafood used was very low quality and not diversified enough. Borderline fresh and cheap. You definitely get what you pay for (if they serve it to you on time). The servers were polite and did their best under the circumstances. We had to leave before we could get the second half of our order. I am glad since the food was terrible. What is most concerning is that I approached one of the managers/owners and told him about our experience. He was arrogant and defended his flawed system. He actually told us that we should plan to have at least two hours for lunch there... LOL. Good luck serving the busy professionals in the vicinity with reasonable time for lunch breaks! He did not even offer an apology for the awful service and food quality. I hope they improve their service and food quality, but most importantly their attitude.

Had dinner last Friday with a group of friends celebrating an engagement and was not disappointed. We had quite a large party but they accommodated us very well and we actually had a few servers for our table so that we were never without drinks or food.

The sushi is pretty good. The rolls are fairly sized and priced competitively for the area. The maguro sashimi was a little odd because it was rolled up thin cuts of fish rather than a chunk which I am accustomed to, nonetheless it was fresh. Next time I will probably try the nigiri but fear that it may be a thin slice on rice. The good thing about nigiri/sashimi is that it is very inexpensive ranging from $3-MP (toro/Giant Clam) We had ordered a couple appetizers, one the edamame which was a pretty large serving and the other were the veggie rolls. The veggie rolls lacked flavor but were very crisp and fresh. Could use a dipping sauce to add some flavor.

As stated in other reviews, the beer selection is quite nice for a small place like this. With plenty of choices in Japanese beers ranging from Tsing Tao to Sapporo and Asahi ( I recommend the 32oz Asahi).

Overall great experience, friendly staff and management and even offered us a free deep fried oreo and mint ice cream dessert which resembled sushi and wasabi. Will definitely go back.

UPDATED: Just had lunch here today and they offer a $9 all you can eat sushi menu which is actually very good in selection for the price. They offer about 8 different sashimi (actually was served nigiri), about 20 different rolls, rice, noodles, veggie spring rolls all inclusive of this 9 bucks. One thing to remember when you order these rolls, they are only 4 pieces per roll. During the lunch rush it can get busy, so I would suggest ordering all at the beginning so you're not waiting your full lunch break. Keep in mind you can order as much as you want, but don't order too much and not finish it, or else you may ruin it for everyone else!

Pros: High Quality Food, Friendly Service, Convenient Location,

Cons: Gets Crowded Quickly, No Valet

I was pleasantly surprised that a restaurant this size could comfortably accommodate a party of 14. From the outside, Pisces looks rather small, but open the doors and you'll notice a classy atmosphere and adequate space for larger gatherings. They also have private booths, tucked away around one of the corners...perfect spot for date night. Quality of sushi was excellent and menu came equipped with one or two rolls I've never seen before such as the XOXO, (highly recommended) topped with grilled scallops and honey mayo eel sauce. Drinks came at reasonable prices with a great selection of asian beers and some fairly decent drink specials -Friday night was $3.00 sake bombs. All in all...our group had a blast ---recommended!

I have tried various sushi rolls at Pisces and haven't come across one roll that I do not like. The service is amazing and the people go out of their way to assure you the best service possible. The atmosphere is very relaxing and inviting. I would recommend Pisces to anyone that is looking to eat sushi in the Charlotte area.

I went for lunch last weekend and loved it! I had the cucumber special roll, the Hawaiian and the Tuna Tataki. My friend doesn't eat sushi so she had the noodles, skewers and pot stickers. Everything was delicious!

The decor is modern and super comfortable. The staff were very friendly and the owner's even came to our table to say hello.

I've found my new favorite spot!

I almost forgot!! They have the best dessert! It's green tea ice cream with tempura Oreo's! Def worth cheating on your diet for!
