I will never use Grady Animal Hospital again. I had taken my dog for an ear infection & ingrown toenail. The few visits were find yet the ear infection was not clearing up. , On one of the visits I told the tech Sandi my dogs ear is closed (like an abalation) she insisted that it was just swollen and proceed to stick a swab in his ear which caused him to yelp. she then said OH it is closed. My last a final visit there Dr Grady came in the room , He didn't examine my dog he went and got a book Opened to a page pointed and then closed it, I didn't even see what he was attempting to show me . He said my dog needed the ablation a surgery which was $4000. I told him my dogs ears are already closed like an ablation , he said they need to be re opened then closed surgically.. The medicine I was paying $86 for was for a skin infection not an ear infection. So my dog suffered for 3 months with out an relieve. It got so bad he had an inner ear infection causing him dizziness vomiting. I have went back to our original vet Oakley Animal Hospital it has been only 2 weeks and the infection is clearing up with the correct meds prescribed.

We have taken 2 of our cats to Grady within the last year. While the initial visit went ok, the follow up was a joke. This last time around, we took our cat for an upper respiratory infection. They did the check up and prescribed the medications The visit was $68 plus meds (a little pricey, but a must for the health of our cat). The doctor said to bring him back after a week, that the follow up visit is free unless more needed top done. We took him in for the follow up and they charged $20 for this visit. We told them what the doctor said, and they argued that a doctor who has been with them that long wouldn't say that. Although I asked again before we left that first day, just to clarify there would be no charge. This is last time Grady sees us.

We take our pets to Agri-Pet Vet Clinic in Hamilton, but they only have after hours on call until 11pm. After that they refer to gradys. So tonight I called to ask them a question about how much anti-anxiety meds to give my dog to get her to calm down from the storm. She was going crazy. I told them the name of script, her weight and age and what time we had given her the first dose. It wasnt 10 minutes after giving her another dose that she couldnt stand, or lift her head. I thought she was dead! Her head just fell to the side when i picked it up!! And when I tried to pick her up and move her to the couch, she lost control of her bladder and urinated on me.So i called back and they said if we felt like this was an ER to come in! OF COURSE THIS IS AN EMERGENCY! YOU TOLD ME THE WRONG DOSAGE FOR MY DOG & NOW SHE'S UNABLE TO WALK!

So not only do I have to pay for the ER vet, now I have to follow up w/her vet to make sure she's ok! Good job Gradys. WAY. TO. GO.

They have taken great care of our pets for years. We would not consider going anywhere else! By the way, they take care of the Cincinnati Police K-9 unit. What does that tell you? They also board our pets. I do not understand the occasional negative feedback. They give TOP QUALITY CARE, and you get what you pay for!

I have two dogs. One is eleven months old and one is 12 weeks we just got her on Saturday. I had been going to another vet with the older puppy, she had issues with her ears. They tested for ear mites and it came back negative and then gave her medicine for eat mites anyway. Her ears became swollen and gross. Very painful. Grady Vet Clinic gave us an appointment around our work schedules and immediately in less than 30 minutes had us on our way out the door with meds and ear wash that cleared it right up. Today we took our puppy in and found out she had Parvo. They were very straight forward about how much it might cost to treat him and how long it could take. They also made sure I was aware that even with treatment he might not make it. I appreciate them being upfront and honest. They may be a little expensive but it's worth it to know you're pet is receiving the best care. And if you go after hours it's just like a regular doctor....if you go to the emergency room it's very expensive and costs you an arm and a leg vs seeing your family doctor. Those vets who are available 24 hrs a day must get paid. Do you want to work 24 hours a day? I don't.

I don't live near this vet, but have taken my pets to them over the years for emergency treatment. My latest experience was recently when one of my dogs was badly injured. They were busy the night we arrived but we saw one of the techs who took a history and assessed her wounds. They took her out to sedate her and when it looked like they would be unable to get to her soon, they suggested we leave her for the night and they would make her comfortable and we could pick her up in the morning. We were not charged for her overnight stay. Yes, the bill was over $600, but she had to have x-rays and in addition to her initial treatment, we have been back 7 times for them to check her, replace sutures, remove sutures and staples, change her medication, etc. They were very compassionate with her, gentle, and seemed to have her best interests at heart. She is healing nicely. We have had nothing but excellent treatment there. I would recommend them to any of my friends with pets.

My wife and I have been taking our dogs to Grady since 2006. They have saved my 2 of my dogs lives more than once when they were puppies. The staff is very friendly and I dont have to wait for a long period of time. They are more expensive, but they are open 24/7; so having that option is a relief if an emergency were to happen, which on one occasion did for us.

I have a 4 year old Boxer mix who one evening became very lethargic and was having uncontrollable bowel movements. When I would call him and he would maybe have the energy to walk he limped. It was awful and pathetic to see him this way. So, I looked some places up and found Grady. I took him and we waited longer than a human would at the E.R. When they finally came in the room to ask me questions i felt as if I murdered someone and was about to be locked up. They asked what I fed him or what he got into. I kept explaining nothing...he is never unsupervised...EVER! She kept asking me and was asking in a very suspicious attitude. Finally, after becoming firm with her, she told me she wasnt sure what was wrong. That was pretty much it. She rubbed his belly and gave us a bill for over 200 dollars. The assistant was sweet but the doctor was a total rude bia who had a chip on her shoulder. I forget her name but she was short and had dark hair and dark skin. I will not return.

Do not take your pet here. Done it several times. All pets died! Recently, pet who could have been saved died while waiting - they were too insensitive, too cheap, to call in another vet. STAY AWAY! They may work out sometimes, but as an emergency clinic they are overpriced killers!

This is by far the worst excuse for a Vet hospital ever! All they want is money! I took my VERY sick dog there and all they wanted to do is run a ton of tests and get you for every penny they can. I told them I didn't have money for all the test they wanted to do and she told me to take my dog home and maybe he'd make it thru the night so I could go to a place that I maybe could afford. My dog was unable to breath well and couldn't even stand and the Vet sent me home without letting me know if he'd make it. I was also told by the help that if I cant afford to care for a pet I shouldn't have one. There was no compassion on dollar signs in their eyes! I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS HORRIBLE PLACE TO MY WORST ENEMY!Every time I hear the name I love to share my story so NO other pet owner makes the same mistakes I did. Thank god my dog didn't die and was able to get great care the following day!

I had 2 pet??s that I have had for fifteen + years die in their care/advise. Sure they say they are sorry but wanting to do tests that killed both my pet??s is very unprofessional. Just due our pet??s age and stress they were under in reality no tests should have been preformed sadly it was their time to go; the veterinarian??s avarice overpowered their moral obligation. I believe it would have been much better for the whole family to take our pet??s home and let them spend their last few moments on earth, at home & in peace with their beloved owners of 15+ years not scared getting poked and prodded. That should have been the advice given but it was not; of course we have faith in those of the medical profession with our pets and people and therein lies the problem with trusting strangers, giving advise based on their plaques, degrees & schooling. But they felt doing something is better than nothing & in some cases that is not the fact and that my friends is where professionalism/morality comes into play and in my opinion they have none in that area with the two of the veterinarian??s at this office. I know there are other vets there and I don??t know about them and I never want to even test the waters with them just due to the past. It??s not about the money for me, sure it cost me 3000 + in 3 months time I don??t care about that it just showed me that they are really on in it for the money. This has left heaviness on my heart I can??t even begin to describe because after the fact I would have never made that decision now knowing what I know.
I WILL NEVER EVER AGAIN GO TO THIS veterinarian??s clinic and I WILL NEVER recommend it to ANYONE EVER! I WILL BADMOUTH YOU AND SHARE THIS STORY WITH EVERYONE WE KNOW.

My cat ate a hair tie and got a GI block. Before I found out about Grady Vet Hospital, I took her to another vet in Fairfield. I was devastated when I found out, and I was handed estimate after estimate and never really understood what was going on. Overwhelmed, I left without surgery, hoping the block would pass (it wouldn't). I found out about Grady's, and decided I would go there if my cat showed more symptoms. 2 hours later we were on our way. The staff at Grady's was caring and kind, and helped me though a very tough time. My cat needed IV fluids and I was able to sit with her while she got them. She was in a bottom cage, and one of the techs thoughtfully found me a blanket to sit on while we waited. She went into surgery, and it went well. I was able to visit her whenever it was convenient for me (on night at 10 pm, and another at 11 pm- when she was released). I highly recommend Dr. Grady and his staff, I will not take my pets elsewhere.

I've brought my dog here since she was a puppy and have since moved but go out of my way to come here. We see Dr. Russell and I highly recommend her, I've seen a couple of the other vets at Grady but they are nowhere near as good as Dr. Russell. She is very knowledgeable and thorough and saved my dog's life. She is willing to spend the extra time to make sure she's done everything she can possibly do and will make you and your pet comfortable.

12-15-05: @2 a.m. took my cat to Grady with a saddle thrombus (clot blocking blood flow to back legs). First vet said next few days would be critical. Left my cat there. At 7 a.m., I called and was told my cat was given pain medication, but was not told his condition had changed. At noon, I went to visit. My cat was lying on his side, eyes open but unaware, rapid shallow breathing, with heart slowing (I wasn't told that) after second vet, at 11 a.m., had given him maximum does of second painkiller despite, I found later, warnings in drug manual. I wasn't told my cat was dying, just that the vet was worried about his heart (which every vet had said the last two years--he had a very irregular heartbeat). I sat with him two hours, he was just on a towel on the table. No one ever checked on him. I was going to go home and come back later, but as I was about to leave I was told he would die in the next couple of hours. In shock, I stayed with him. Two hours later, no one having checked in on him during that time, he seized. I asked a third vet for the first kind of pain medicine, but she brought the second pain medicine that I had specifically told her I didn't want. She argued with me--acted like she didn't want to be questioned. She left, he died. I was in tears. I went to find tech to turn off the IV machine. Waiting, I turned it off myself. When the tech came in, he turned it back on, I objected, he flippantly turned it off and rudely said "you're welcome." When the third vet finally came back in, all she said was, coolly, "Are you going to have him cremated or take him with you?" No word of sympathy. I was given the phone number of pet cemetery. I called them, and when I came back, the IV was still in my cat's leg. No tech available, I couldn't find a scissors in the drawers, so I pulled the IV tape off myself. The receptionist walked in and I said, in tears, I could not believe that place and she said "Nothing seems to make you happy." I packed up my things, picked up my cat, pushed myself out the front doors as two receptionists watched, and I cried all the way home. I never received a sympathy card--just a bill. I will never forget the living nightmare that was the Grady Veterinary Hospital. I called to talk to Dr. Grady. He never called back. I wrote him what happened. He wrote back that they had done nothing wrong. It makes me sick.

Both my humans and I are thrilled that such an incredible hospital exists and is fairly close to home. Because of the caring, dedicated staff at Grady Vet Hospital, I am alive and not a memory. I swallowed a cat toy and it perforated my bowel. Two major surgeries, bandages, medicine, and loving care and I am back to being my happy Tee-Bone (aka Monka) self. The staff treated my humans with with great compassion and kept them informed about everything. They allowed my humans to visit with me, which aided with me healing. Dr. Brown was my primary doctor and and a fantastic surgeon!!! Dr. Swinney was my fabulous night doctor!!! Dr. Grady was professional and concerned, as always. All the techs treated me like I was their own dog. I was there for a week and a half.

Worst experience of my life. They charged close to 900.00 for a bunch of outrageous tests, they got offended when I took my animal out of their hospital to another one, they got offended when I didn't want them doing 250.00 more worth of tests, they didn't get the lab results to me the next day like they promised, (I was advised that they didn't have time). Another Doctor was waiting for the tests results while my cat's health was slowly deteriorating. My vet, ran there own blood tests and found that the cat had FIV and feline leukemia. (the blood work costs 55.00 and results are back in the same day). Grady Animal Hospital was called 3 times on Monday, 3 times on Tues, and again on Wednesday before they would fax the results to my veterinarian.

this place is a 24 hour veternarian.this is the closest 24 hour veternarian to where i live.i like this bussiness because they have nice staff - the staff is very fast - they are very helpfully.i do not hate this bussiness.i think they are expensive but they do has much as they can with animals (trying to save them, etc).they specialize in saving animals (and making them well).when a animal passes away they are nice enough to send a sorry for your loss card to you in the mail (which i think that is thoughtfull of them).

Grady veterinary hospital is open 24/7 for emergencys they saved my cats life twice once from an asthma attack and once from poisoning from what we read on the internet about the poisoning our kitty shouldn't have lived but its been over a year and he is doing wonderful with and has no side affects. I wouldn't trust anyone other than the grady staff to take care of my pets.

PROS: great care good staff
CONS: a little expensive but worth every penny
