I took my puppy there for the vaccinations and to be spayed. The spaying went well and she got all of her vaccinations. Their shot records were something to be desired however since I was turned down at a place to board her for not having all her shots when I knew she did since they were rough enough with her that she's so tramatized when she goes that she screams before they ever touch her I remember every appointment clearly. I insisted she did have them all so we called and they said that I missed the appointment for her last shots. When I confronted them about it when I got back from my vacation they said she did have them all that there was no way they would have said that. decent procedures for the cost...sucky on the service and handling of the animal.

It's very sad to see these sad occurrences to those on here that are genuine animal owners and have had to experience these things. It's easy for others to react especially if you work there. Why would you agree with a bad review. It's your job to try and justify immoral care. My heart goes out to all animal lovers that have had to face such a traumatic event and my sincere thanks to someone that actually observed this behavior and sharing this to make us aware like any other consumer would want to see. What's disturbing is that there are more negative reviews than positive which unfortunately includes mine. I took my kitten here to have what I thought was a simple procedure resulting in a nightmare. My kitten was spayed and after lack of instruction I was informed that my kitten was taking a very long time to come out of her anesthesia. It was recommended to have her transferred to an emergency clinic to monitor her overnight. No one could give me a clear answer of why this could happen. The next day I'm positive after assurance that everything would be fine when I picked her up the following day only to find out that my kitten is now blind. Again no clear answers, no empathy, no sincere apologies just we are not sure, maybe this and could be that. I understand that this is a cost efficient service but there is no tolerance for lack of care. Human or animal. What also bothers me is that no one was willing to accept responsibility for their actions but agreeing that maybe she had too much. It broke my heart to see my kitten and know she couldn't see as I'm sure she may be wondering why this happened to her. I fostered his kitten with good intentions and now she will remaining in my care. I can't worry about what her future will be like not knowing if she will be in good hands or not especially now. Everyone is accountable for their actions and this facility should accept accountability. I have no doubt this will not be the last time this facility will hear my complaint because its necessary to make those aware. My kitten will see another vet who I have no doubt will take good care of her and communicate professionally with sincere and honest care as she deserves and will grow up to be happy fit and well.

I have had many personal experiences with this facility and it runs well because of HOW THEY RUN IT! Shame on any veterinarian that has to "bad mouth" a facilty that they were only present in for 3 days. In my professional opinion, you were only allowed to be there for 3 days due to YOUR demeanor! On another note, why would a veterinarian have to travel hundreds of miles away to find work????? HMMMM....

Worked there for 3 days as a veterinarian.I came a thousand miles from where i was working to help them because they said they were having to let a veterinarian go because of their bad behavior and poor bedside manner and other things. In 3 days there, their other veterinarian who had been working 2 days a week, had one case i saw treated by them for a bacterial skin problem,YET THE VET MISSED THE PET HAD MANGE ALSO ,DEMODECTIC MANGE ANDTHATS WHY THE PET RETURNED IT WASNT DOING ANY BETTER,THEY MISSED THE DIAGNOSIS.On the same day a dog, also, returned for an eye problem not getting better, and was being treated for a bacterial problem.IT WASNT GETTING BETTER BECAUSE THE DOCTOR NEVER BOTHERED TO CHECK TEAR PRODUCTION,AND SO THE DOG HAD DEVELOPED AN ULCER AND THAT WAS THE PRIMARY PROBLEM THEY MISSED.They are a clinic to be used only if finances do not permit the opportunity to go to a higher quality facility where you are given the time you and your pet need.Furthermore,THEY CONSISTENTLY FAILED TO BE RUNNING THE PROPER TESTS TO DETERMINE IF PARASITES COMMUNICABLE TO PEOPLE WERE ASSESSED THOROUGHLY,many services that could easily have been done at the palm bay location were not done, and a 100 lb employee tryed to restrain a dog nearly her size and stronger ineptly, whereby had they maintained a reasonable supply of easily acquired drugs the pet could have been relaxed, been comfortable and not been under anxiety.Poorly run business.Only for those financially compromised which sadly is many these days.

I've been taking my pets to FAA for nine years and every single visit has been a positive experience. This clinic was established for the very purpose of providing low-cost spay/neuter services to help reduce the overpopulation of unwanted pets and to offer low-cost vaccinations, not to be just another veterinary office. They also offer humane declawing for cats. They are providing the exact service they intended and are saving pet-owners hundreds of dollars in the process.

As for those negative reviews, any doctor who performs hundreds (if not thousands) of surgeries every year is always cautious to warn of the potential risks of anaesthesia. My pets were altered there and I was carefully informed of the risks in advance each time. Not all animals (or people, for that matter) tolerate it well and some do, unfortunately, die. I find it *very* difficult to believe anyone at FAA would tell a grieving pet owner to "get over it" or "it's just a cat." I've dealt with these people for years and I have never seen anything less than warmth, genuine care and compassion.

I adopted my first pet from the local shelter nine years ago and took her to FAA for their low-cost "Kitten Plan" (~$80). When I adopted both my dogs (a year apart), they went there for the "Puppy Plan." Those low-cost plans cover everything - shots, worming, exams, nail clipping, ear cleaning, tags. They charge about half what you'd pay at a regular vet's office. Once you pay on the first visit, the subsequent visits are free (the shots are given over time to let the medicine build up in the puppy's/kitten's system and not overwhelm it). My cat was spayed there and my dogs were neutered there with no ill effects whatsoever. I dropped my pet off at 8:00AM and would always receive at least one call to let me know when the surgery was over and how my pet was doing and when I could pick him up (typically the same afternoon). I have brought my pets to FAA every year for annual exams, shots and tags ever since. The staff - greatly overworked every single day - is gentle and sincerely caring. Yes, sometimes things do get a bit hectic with the phones constantly ringing, patients steadily checking in and out, questions being asked, people trying to make appointments, dogs barking... Still, no one there has ever been rude to me and my pets have *always* been treated gently and with great care. Most pet patients are sweet and gentle, but some are frightened and become aggressive. Charging an extra fee for handling an aggressive animal is not uncommon. These people risk bites and scratches every day. I live in Palm Bay, so it's a bit of a drive for me, but the care my pets receive is well worth it. I can't recommend them highly enough. BTW, FAA is not an all-service clinic; they specialize in low-cost, high quality spay/neuter, annual well exams, shots and tags. They also sell topical treatments (Advantix, etc.), pet food, grooming supplies, collars/leashes and some toys. Sick animals are referred to a "regular" vet for treatment.

I found out about this place from my local vet who recommended Florida Aid to Animals when I asked about having my puppy spayed. She told me they do a great job and she couldn't compete with their cost for the procedure. That was two years ago. I have now have had another puppy neutered there and both times, I was 100% satisfied with the outcome, the staff and the facility. I read the posted reviews and see how upset some people seem to be about the lack of full service. I think this place is designed to be one which hits the high notes at low prices for basic animal care and they do a terrific job. My sympathy for those whose cats died. I would be angry too but to direct it to the facility is not entirely fair. They are doctors, not Gods. My experience for spaying/neutering and getting basic vaccinations has been very positive and with 4 dogs, FAA has helped offset the cost of responsible pet ownership. We still maintain a relationship with our local vet for any other problems that may occur. Coupled together, I get affordable, compassionate and thorough care for my babies! Thank you FL aid to Animals!!!!

I have two dogs. Last year i had taken my dogs to my vet in DC. I had 2 vaccines and a heartworm check up. My bill was 285.00 with out any medications. It was your standard dog vaccines nothing special. This year i decided to take my dogs to this place because a coworker recommended it. I payed close to 120.00$ and i even purchased medication for heartworms. I'm glad i did!!. The staff was friendly and helpful. I must say they really did care about my pets well being. I did not see anything negative its a modest place and it fits with in my budget. For being a busy place its organized it works and im glad i was referred to them. We need more places like this. They make it so we can take care of our pets and keep them healthy. Thank you florida aid to animals for your services and wonderful staff.

I recently took my dog to be spayed at FLA and I have nothing but good things to say about my experience. Like others have said they were busy however they are the only clinic in the area that does what they do so I can imagine how overwhelmed they must be with people in need of service at an affordable price. In this case you dont get what you pay for, you get much much more. My dog was brought in at 8:00 for a surgery check in and I picked him up at 3:00!! I couldn't believe he had just had surgery he was bouncing all over the place like nothing happened. The staff was very friendly and they actually called to give me an update after he was done. They answered all of my questions and I felt good knowing he was in their hands. I would recommend them a thousand times over they are amazing and care so much for animals.

I took my cat in to be spayed today... I picked her up at approx. 3:30 pm... at 7:45 this evening I found her dead !!! when I called the after hours # provided, I was told that " it's only a cat ...get over it. It happens sometimes. " I was already upset, and this just pushed me over the edge !!! It wasn't just a cat, it was MY cat !! I cannot believe the unfeeling way I was treated !! I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. I give them a NEGATIVE 5 star rating..... and I'll be talking to my lawyer in the morning !! This should not happen to anyone else !!!

We just had our cat in for a standard spay. They told us everything went ok and picked her up at 3:00 like instructed. Took her home checked on her before and dinner she was alive. Checked on her after dinner she was dead. Called the after hours number and spoke to a rep and told her that my cat was dead. and she said that they do thousands of these operations and this happens sometimes. I then told her i spent over $100 dollars to have my cat operated on and now its dead and my wife and daughter are devastated. She then told me to get over it and people get operated on and die all the time. I just thought everyone should know how they treat there customers.

I'M TRYING TO FIND OUT THE COST OF RABIES SHOTS AT FLA. I have gone to this FLA BEFORE AND THEY WERE VERY GOOD WITH BOTH MY DOGS. AND IF I CAN REMEMBER THE PRICE WAS RIGHT. BUT CAN ANYONE REFRESH MY MEMORY ON THE COST OF THE YEARLY RABIES SHOT.

This is an extremely busy clinic and even though they are only minor medical they do the best they can to help everyone as much as possible. They will refer you to "full service" when it is something they can't do there which is much appreciated. All you have to do is call and ask about your pets problem and they will even give you a number to call. The vaccines and products are the best priced in town and the quality of service is great.

Great place to bring your pet and have confidence that they will be treated with kindness. These are true animal lovers and will treat your pet as special.
We brought our golden retriever to get spayed and had no problems. She was treated with love. The staff is as good or even better than a private vet.
We also got shots for our pug and we received the same kind service.
My wife and I give FL Aid to Animals a big thumbs up!

Honestly, this business can go both ways depending on what you want. I took my dog there to have tests run. When they drew her blood on her front leg, they didn't hold the spot long enough to "clot" and she bled profusely all over the place! I was angry. A few years earlier I brought a neglected dog I adopted(malnourished very skinny) in to be checked over. They put a treat in his mouth while checking his ear(infection/painful) and as they were taking this poor starving dogs treat away AND poking at his sore ear, the dog snapped at one of the techs(did not bite!). They charged me a $30 fee!! To me, that isn't devoted caring animal lovers. Plus, I called a couple days ago about teeth cleaning and was told they will NOT do anything of that nature unless your dog is spayed or neutered. Ridiculous! BUT, cost wise for annual vaccines is great. The staff most times I didn't find friendly at all..just in a rush to answer your question and didn't take time to help.

They only seem to care about their spay/neuter.
I had to take my dog somewhere else to find out he had a bad staff infection.
They actually told me on the telephone that I needed to take my dog to a "full service" animal clinic!
Shame on you!

This facility is very well maintained. It is clean and there is always someone cleaning the floor after a patient does a "number." The staff is professional, caring and courteous and genuinely cares about all the animals they treat, and they thoroughly explain all charges and fees. The only thing that keeps me from giving this business a five-star rating is the fact they have only one phone line, which makes for great difficulty in getting someone on the first or second try. Otherwise, I highly recommend this business to anyone in need of low-cost, high-quality animal treatment.

As for referrals, this facility is not a "full service" animal hospital. Their main emphasis is on desexing, although other issues will be addressed as necessary. If something is beyond their scope they will refer you to a full service animal hospital or private veterinarian.

My sixteen year old Beagle (Petey) diagnosed with kidney failure. After all the tests and taking to a Vet for treatment the following four days for sub-Q fluid injections my beloved member of the family passed away. When I informed my Vet and asked about arrangements for cremation his charge was $208.00 for single cremation and returning his ashes to me. I called Florida Aid to Animals and they said to bring him in and you will have his ashes in a week for $20.00. When I dropped him off the office was very busy with children and their pets. A staff member came out to the car and took my Petey around back and was very sympathetic for my loss. They are very professional and handled my situation quickly, discretely and with dignity. My impression is that they care more about doing the "right thing" for your pet than weather you are able to pay. I have recommended to all my friends who own pets about Florida Aid to Animals. A few days later I received a sympathy card from Florida Aid to Animals. I have yet to receive anything from Petey's Veterinary Clinic where he has been getting his annual check-up/treatments for the past fourteen years.

I took my five month old kitten here to be spayed. The staff were very nice, even though very busy. I dropped Gracie off at 8 a.m. and by 3 p.m. she was going home!!! She had the surgical adhesive instead of stitches so no need to return to remove. She acted no differently than before the surgery and wanted to play right away. I had to try to calm her. Dr. Leeks is a wonderful doctor and the low cost also helped alot.

We recently got a 6 month old cat, I have never had a cat before. The vet tech was wonderful gave me a lot of good information to start caring for our cat. Very good service, great prices and wonderful staff. Couple of days later went back for the cat to get neutered and he recovered beautifully. Thank you FL aid to animals for the services you provide.

We have been taking our dogs here for regular yearly shots for a while now. The staff is attentive and very good w/the animals. They are much better than 2 other vets we had used in the past and far more economical. If either dog has a medical condition I use their regular vet, at the Holistic Animal Clinic.

My mother and I have taken our animals here for basic shots and other basic services for many years. They offer GREAT prices on regular shots, spay/neuter, and things like that. They are friendly, caring, and personable. They are always very nice, and they love the animals they treat, which really shows. They are always helpful, and kind. It's not hard to set up an appointment, the location is good, and there's ample parking.
