I really hate to give any business a poor review because one person's experience does not make a well-rounded judgement. However, before getting overly excited about the company promises, be sure to consider "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is."

I was excited about the claims of VRP when reading their very energetic website and the promise there about never seeing another pest- guaranteed. Unfortunately, despite the apparent knowledge and experience of the owner, the person assigned to actually come out and service my home was far less than qualified. He was unable to identify common waterbugs/carpet beetles, spring tails and had never heard the term "wood roach." After a first visit, it was clear we had been sent just a hired hand, not an expert. To further disappoint, the service tech was not very knowledgeable about his own company or the various service offers. What's worse, he did not complete the job he was sent to do.

I found myself going back and finishing the job after the technician left. The insects died down a bit but after only three weeks, we were again fighting off every kind of pest, just as before. There was a lack of thoroughness, experience and overall knowledge of how to deal with our pest problems- especially when it came to understanding the source of the issue.

As a positive note, I believe this company would in fact stand by their claims; however, I am not willing to have them return again and again and again to fix and re-do their work in order to eventually reach the promised outcome... something I am not convinced is really even possible.

I am a person who likes a job done correctly, thoroughly and to the fullest intent of the claims made about the company. If you are like me and you hire Volunteer Rid a Pest, be sure to talk directly with the owners and make sure they properly manage your expectations. I would also insist on a trial period before signing a service contract.
