Location is convenient for me and I had used them for recycling my personal stuff in the past. I will not be using them again!

On Monday, Aug. 15th, 2011, we (3 dads and 3 sons) brought an enclosed trailer and pick-up truck full of glass beer bottles, smashed aluminum cans and smashed bottle waters for recycling. These were from our Church Bazaar the weekend prior. As a courtesy, I personally stopped by this center on Friday, Aug 12th and told them we would be bringing our recyclables to them.

On Monday, as we were unloading our bottles and cans into their large blue containers, the owner?s son began to empty our cans and water bottles into their grinding machine. I quickly walked up to the son and asked how many containers had he processed. His response was, ""I'll show you at the end"".I had followed him between his two machines and ask him no fewer than 4 times what the count was. His response was again, ""I'll show you at the end"". He proceeded with his process and simply ignored me.I told him I needed and accurate count, but no response from the son. This level of customer service is unacceptable at any level. I then went back to unloading. I should have trusted my instincts!

Shortly, other customers were bringing in their stuff and we continued to unload our material and sliding our containers into organized rows. Keep in mind we trusted the son to keep our materials separated from other customers as they were weighing and keying in who knows what into the machine. I think when they weighed each container, they enter a code to differentiate the customers' containers. We trusted the owner's son to not only keep track of our containers, BUT to actually weigh each container. At this point, because of the arrogance of the son, this was a lost cause.

In the final analysis, the amount at the end amounted to about 25% - 30% less than we collected in the past several years. We confronted both the owner and his son. The son continued with his arrogant demeanor and started to show us the printout and amount of each container. I asked him how that tells us if each container was accounted for. I told both owner and son, had the son responded to my initial request of an accounting, we would not be having this conversation and dispute. I said to the dad, if I had a food allergy and asked the waitress what was in a dish, would it be acceptable to tell me when I'm on the way to the hospital? I told owner, if this was my employee and he treated customers like this, I would fire him on the spot! Arrogant son subsequently said, ""This isn't customer service!"" I responded, ""Are you kidding me? This is your business!""

What am I saying about this business? If you plan on bringing a large volume of material to them and are NOT able to watch everything like a hawk, then ""Let the buyer beware!"" I told the owner I?m going to report him and never use them again. He said ?that?s fine? while his son had a smir
