If service matters, and it does to me, this place has a long way to go. We stopped in after work, about 5:15 PM. There were 2 people at the bar and 2 tables with customers. Behind the bar, 2 bartenders talking. We sat at the bar, 6 feet from the bartenders ... 3-4 minutes passed and I said "Pardon us, could we get a beer?" Well, you would have thought that was the biggest insult possible because the resulting service was slow and with an attitude. Totally inappropriate, especially in this economy, when every bar wants and needs more customers. First time and never again.
J Gilligan's is a fun place we rarely get to indulge in very often. Located in the heart of Arlington, it's a little more than "down the street" from us. In any case, J Gilligan's is a family friendly place that serves really good food: salads, hamburgers, nacho's, sandwiches, etc. The Irish Nacho's are the killer. Think of a potato sliced into coins on a mandolin, covered with cheese, baked in the oven and topped with sour cream, guacamole, peppers, tomato and onions. Absolutely FABULOUS!
Pros: Good food for the price
Cons: A little crowded on the weekends
Great bar food before a Cowboys game or other event in Arlington. We went there before the OU/BYU game and they had a big tent set up in the parking lot and the place was rockin. Lots of TV's to watch the other games while your getting ramped up for your game. They had a shuttle to Cowboys stadium when we were there but not sure if that is regular. Forget about paying $75 for a tailgating pass at Jerry World. Go here and eat and drink cheap and then go to the game. Jerry killed tailgating anyway.
Pros: Close to Cowboys Stadium, Sports, Shuttle
Cons: None
