My children have been at Abacus since their opening, and we wouldn't send them anywhere else! After touring some other day cares in the area, we picked abacus based on their program that was unlike any of the other centers we had visited.

Cheaters!! that's how I describe them. I went there personally to admit my son there. She asked me to fill an application form and asked me to pay $95 like application fee. I filled the form and paid the fee. She said she will call me back in 2 weeks and the school actually starts in spring. 2 weeks passed, they never called back. i waited few more days and called them. There was a lady, Sheila. She was telling me that my son is in the waiting list and they don't have any idea when there will be new fillings. I asked them why did you not tell me this information before like when I was there to fill out the application. They haven't told us anything about this when we were there. they took the money and now are telling that my son can't get admission. i asked them to refund the money because i was never informed that it's for waiting list. who would pay non-refundable money for waiting list. she is saying she cannot refund the money now. cheaters, liars.what will our kids learn in a place like that.

Don't be fooled with few good reviews. it is waste of money whether you pay $600 or $800. Most of the staff are very rude. If you are tired of changing diapers at home and you dont want you kid to learn anything then, yes you can absolutely send your kid to abacus and they are very good with the diapers. That it all it. my kid has been going there last year and half and learned nothing, nothing and nothing at all.

I have finally found the best! My experience at Abacus has been so refreshing. They really do provide the best possible care and learning environment for children. The owner and director both go above and beyond to ensure excellence in all aspects of the school. My child looks forward to each and every day and loves her teacher. I highly recommend touring the school because seeing is believing. You will not regret it!

Some parents get treated well, but some don't. Maybe as long as you do nothing more than pay and smile then they will treat you well. But if you have a concern the administration staff first try to BS you and then are condescending and rude.\n\nCommunications are best described as ""didn't you get that?"". It seems as though they have an idea of what they should do - but assume someone else did it. It is currently September of 2011. Go to their website and select ""About Us"" and then ""Newsletter"". It says ""Our newsletter, ABACUS, is published monthly to insure timely communication with the parents and the children we serve."" followed by ""March 2010 Abacus - Coming Soon"".

My husband and I looked at over 15 schools before we chose Abacus at Avery Ranch and we have been so pleased. Just walking in the door and having Ms. Joanne and Ms. Rolla meet every child every day is so comforting. As is having Ms. Sheila and Mr. Dave, the owner's on site as well as their own children. It was a huge decision as this is our only child. After 6 months he grew leaps and bounds. They have a very strong academic program and very low ratios per student and teacher. And GREAT TEACHERS. I was amazed after 3 weeks that every one new our son's name. I highly recommend the care for your child that they provide. It is a great learning enviroment and a very loving enviroment. He is enrolled in on site swimming lessons and by the end of summer at age 3 he will be swimming. We did not see another school that offered on site lessons. So we are thrilled with that as well. Abacus hast it all!!

Abacus is not what I thought! This school promised me that my child would have a wonderful experience but she did not. The teachers do not inform you of what is going on with your child they always direct you to management who will make a excuse and not handle the problem. The front office personal staff are not very nice once they enroll your child. They reel you in and then its down hill. They told me how every school in the area was not good, that should have been a red flag. Before enrolling in Abacus visit ALL the schools in the area. I currently enrolled my child at a school they recommended I should not. So far it is great! I can view her in her class and everyone in the school is wonderful and I did not have to leave Avery Ranch to find this school.\nFor all the parents who are thinking about leaving, do it NOW!!!

Our child attending the Abacus School of Austin was a great move after having been at Kids R Kids and Primrose. The preschool was recommended to us by a family friend that joined the school just after the grand opening. After being given our tour by the schools director, Rola Smith, we made our decision on the spot. After meeting with her we were confident that we had found the right place for our child. The facility is clean, well maintained, safe and secure.\r\n\r\nRola and the staff at Abacus have conveyed a sense of family and community that is hard to find in a pre-school. Our daughter loves her teachers and classmates and misses school when she is not there. Not to mention she has already learned to write and is now more interested in reading and art!\r\n\r\nAbacus also offers many enrichment programs in addition to their curriculum which offers convenience for busy parents.\r\n\r\nWe are so happy with our decision to join Abacus!
