Legacy Animal Hospital in Henderson is by far the best team of Animal care professionals in Nevada. Dr. Susie Costa has been my Animal family's Vet for 18 years and there is no one more caring or skilled. The entire team at Legacy is dedicated to your pet's. In the years I have been bringing all my animals big and small to this great team, I have never been disappointed. Dr. Susie will never do anything that is not needed and has our family's complete trust,we recommend Legacy with the highest regard.

This is my story and you can draw your own conclusions. Our cat was an outdoors cat, after six years of going outside she came home with a big gash on her belly. The wound area and her leg were swollen and bloody. My partner rushed her to the vet, and Dr. Costa received her. She told my partner that she will stitch her and everything will be fine. Which gave us so much hope; because we thought her condition was fatal, thats how bad it was. She had been like this for four days before she made it home and we feared the worst. After the surgery, the vet told us that she had to cut a lot of flesh to get rid of the dead tissue but that she will be fine.
My partner came to visit her and the assistant brought her out holding her by the upper body letting the belly with stitches and wound drainage hang, like if this would be a perfectly healthy animal that didnt go through trauma the previous day. My partner had to tell her, can you please handle her gently. When I went in to see her, the attendant was more delicate, but this is not even the point. When I saw my kitty she was in excruciating pain, she smelled as if she was rotting from the inside out, (she didnt smell like this when we first brought her in, but we understand that her condition could have deteriorated even after surgery). My partner and I prepared for the worst, but the vet looked me in the eye and told me that in the worst case scenario she would have to do another surgery to remove more dead tissue, which I was fine with, because money was not an issue. She even said I might be able to take her home in two days.
We brought her in on a Thursday, we visited her Friday and Saturday, on Sunday the vet called us to let us know that she was improving slowly, but she still had a fever. On Monday, I called twice in the morning to enquire about her health. They told me Dr. Costa will call me when she had a chance. She called at 4.50 pm, and told me that my kitty had eaten a little by herself, that the fever was going down and that the second surgery was most likely going to be necessary and to call her the next day to discuss that. I was very happy with the news obviously.
At 5.20pm I received another phone call from the Dr. Costa saying that she went to feed her, she took a breath and collapsed and she couldnt find a heart beat. THIRTY MINUTES after getting a good prognosis my cat died. Needless to say Im devastated, hurt, enraged and feel cheated.
My kitty suffered a lot, I feel that she wasnt handled properly, they didnt even put a cone collar to prevent her from licking the wounds, which I see all the time on sick pets, including my neighbors kitty when he was neutered, which is a simple procedure. This facility is too busy, they cant offer a personalize service, and I dont trust this vet. I will never take another pet there.

I whish I had.\n\nI spent thousands of dollars with them over a few months trying to keep my cat alive, then when it came time to put him down, they couldn't wait to charge me the $60 fee (what a slap in the face).

Dr Terry and his staff were the most compassionate and professional vet that I have been to. They understood the love that I had for my dog who was in extremely bad shape and they were understanding of financial limitations and offered ways to care for him from home. I cannot tell you how grateful that I am for them. I will never take another animal anywhere but to them.

Dr. Muratore is a consummate professional and is knowledgeable about a wide variety of animals, from dogs and cats to owls and everything in between. He is also good with all ages of pets. He is just as good with younger dogs and puppies as he is with senior dogs, like Lady, my Jack Russell mix. His compassionate manner and decisiveness are second to none. I would trust him as my own GP, and trust him implicitly with my 3 "Four-Legged Daughters".

Terry is by far and away the BEST Vet I have ever encountered. His office staff are compassionate, detail oriented and second to none. I am amazed that they don't make mistakes considering the volume of animals they see on a daily basis. The place is always spotless. I have boarded my animals there, and their grooming services are fantastic. Dr. Muratore is an honest, caring, vet and I am lucky to have him as my animal doctor. Thankfully, his son, Anthony, is following in his footsteps.

Excellent man. Has a deep, sincere interest and passion for animal husbandry. Knows you and your pets as individuals. Personal attention and sincere desire to help. Very, very competant vet. A bit pricey, but gets the job done well. So, if you care about your pet, it is worth it.

We recently lost Maverick our Golden Retriever about 6 months ago to lymphoma cancer and all of the staff was so caring and understanding from the beginning til the end. Hard to come by these days. Dr. Muratore and Karen went above and beyond any call of duty. I have recommended them to several friends and still use them for our other babies. Very top notch service.

Dr. T is without any doubt in my mind the greatest DVM we have to offer in this Valley. He has shown nothing but compassion and the utmost in veterinary care. A+++++++++++++++++++++++

We started with Dr. Muratore about 5 years ago when we lived in Henderson. We already had 2 cats and got a Jack Russel puppy. He is so good with making our animals feel safe when they are getting shots and he went out of his way the second time we had to take our puppy in for shots.\r\n\r\nThe first time she had a bad reaction to the shots so Dr. Muratore broke up the shot session into 2 visits and did not charge us more to do this.\r\n\r\nWe now live in Pahrump 60 miles NW of Las Vegas and make the hour drive one-way just to see him.\r\n\r\nDo yourself and your pets a favor and visit him for all your Vet needs.

Dr. Muratore is the best Veterinarian in town. He is caring and compassionate. The staff is always welcoming and happy to help with anything. My animals have always loved seeing Dr. Muratore and he always seems happy to see them. The prices are always fair. They offer many different types of insurance plans from reimbursement plans to discount plans. They are always there when you need them most. I highly recommend them

Doctors King and Muratore have shown nothing but caring and compassion in the treatment of our pets. Our two mixed lab dogs have been going to Legacy Animal Hospital for over 7 years and they cared for our cats for years before that.A word about Dr. Muratore - In the same year that my wife suffered a right forearm amputation, our cat which we had raised for 12 years became very ill. Dr. Muratore worked valiantly to save our cat's life and make him comfortable until we finally had to have him put down on Christmas Eve.The courtesy and compassion Dr. Muratore showed our family which was already going through emotional and financial hardship after my wife's illness was extraordinary. Dr. Muratore even arranged to have some very expensive tests performed on our cat at no charge to us.For all of this I will always be grateful to the Doctors and staff at Legacy. I highly recommend this facility.

Dr. Muratore was grossly negligent with the care of our dog back in 1999. He was working at another animal hospital (he has worked at many). Our dog was treated for pancreatitis. The treatment was very expensive and he was still sick. We took the dog to another vet, and they noticed in the first 5 minutes of the exam that his abdomen was quite large. It turned out our dog had a massive malignant tumor on his pancreas and had no chance for survival and we had to put him down. I would not trust him for anything more than routine treatments.

We have two animals and have taken them to Dr. Muratore for over 15 years. I would follow Dr. Muratore anywhere in the Las Vegas area. He is the best vet in town. Legacy is a clean and caring hospital and the fees are always fair and equitable.
Thank you Dr. Muratore and Legacy.

I have taken my dog there several times, and after comparing costs to other vets--I realized I have been overcharged for routine visits. When I asked if there was anything I could do about my dog's dry skin, they told me that it is just the climate. I later found out that putting her on vitamins can help!! Whenever I asked a question, they gave me a vague answer.

We are fortunate enough to have the caring staff at Legacy care for our pets. Recently we purchased a puppy from a puppy mill and five days after purchasing it we lost her to Parvo. All the staff from the front office to the Veternarians provided us with the most sympthay and support during this very difficult time. They did everything in there powers to try to save our littel ones life. Caryne in the front office always has such a pleasant smile and would do anything to help. Thanks Legacy for all you do!!!

We have three animals that we take to Legacy Animal Hospital. The front office staff is very friendly and helpful when you call with questions or to make an appointment. We have been going there for ten years and have seen both Dr. King and Dr.Muratore. They are both excellent doctors. There a vets that are closer, but I prefer to travel a bit further for great service. We took our cat in for a head wound and Dr, King gave her an antibiotic and she got well within a few days. We were so greatful.

We've been taking our dogs here for quite some time. They are always friendly with the dogs and the facility is very clean. The dog we had previous to our current dog was nursed back to health after a vicious attack from another dog. Dr. Muratore is a great doctor and a funny guy. I highly recommend this animal hospital, you will not be disappointed.

Whenever one of my pets needs something they always manage to get me in. And I always get to talk to Dr. Muratore if I need to do so. Also, the vets do go to seminars & keep themselves updated on the newest techniques. The receptionists don't put you on hold & make you wait forever to talk to a vet. They board animals there as well and each time I take my animals the kennel is clean. The kennel help is caring. And they also try to find homes for the occasional animal who is abandoned by it's owner. I know, I've adopted a couple from them. It's a little far away from me. Also, a little bit hidden behind some fast food restaurants. But worth finding.

PROS: Vets who are up to date on new information
CONS: A little farther away than I'd like
