I just got off the phone with the lady that runs the place ... I went there because I read good reviews on yelp overall and both my mother and I wanted to have our tongue examined and see what they suggested -its a new thing to us having used western medicine our whole lives- so we go there and there's an asian lady that apparently is the 'doctor' -young good looking lady- and she hands me over to some other tongue doctor who I suppose is more experienced ... the thin and tall asian gentleman was wearing a white frock like the ones doctors wear and he is very soft spoken ... he had both my mother and I sit down and he talked and listened to us very calmly and he takes your blood pressure and has a laptop hooked up to his pressure device ... very gentle bedside manner ... makes you feel all warm and cozy inside ... once he was done checking the tongue and asking a few questions ... e.g. can you poop, are you bloated, do you urinate much, what color, etc then he said both mom and I had problems with both the Kidneys and the Liver (toxicity, my mom is a cancer 'therapy' survivor ... that's another story) and he recommends some very expensive pills ... $35 bucks a bottle ... and he's recommending several of them ... and that's just treatment for the first two weeks ... it was around $200 bucks for both of us ... mom is on fixed income and already has western frankenstein medicine/obamacare 666 plan and I'm on a tight budget too so, that's $400 bucks a month really for a plastic container of pills of dubious origins ... one allegedly has about a gram of mushroom spores from a medicinal mushroom -that was the sales pitch anyways- and the other one says V liver care (first one says vi reishi on the bottom and they BOTH say 'dietary supplement' on them ... so the guy before we could say anything was already having us rung up for the first batch of pills ... -for all we know he got the pills at the 99 cent store!- ... and what was so obvious is that the 2 pills he was peddling were right behind him, the kidney one to the left and the liver one to the right ... its like he has his sales pitch down to a T ... so we stopped the sale transaction -and much to their dismay- started asking if there were any more affordable alternatives ... then the guy started saying that their brand of pills were better (they have chinese letters but say made in the US (vicareyou ddot com) its all in chinese ... anyways, the guy said that its better to start with a hard pill that is a concentrate -so he alleges- and then move to the actual herbs ... I don't know what kind of medical training this guy has, he said that chinese herbal medicine school is 5 years ... the other girl or 'doctor' is now somehow getting 'licensed' because I guess she was never licensed ... the lady that runs the place appears to be the 'doctors' mom ... they speak mostly chinese in the store to each other -they did some things we wanted to try the first time we went once before and there were some mushrooms and other weird stuff I thought we could make some stew out of ... but we opted to return to see the 'tongue doctor' ... it just seemed like a fun journey into eastern medicine ... $10 bucks to have your tongued examined did not seem too bad ... so the male doctor put on what is probably a very well rehearsed scene of indignation ... like, how can you question my professional recommendation after I read your pulse and there is some high level theatrics of how they can put a huge amount of pressure in the closing of the sale of their pills of dubious origens -which by the way my mother was having an allergic reaction to one of them -possibly because of an interaction with her thyroid medication- anyways, after a good brow beating and making us feel like idiots they swapped out their recommendation on some of the ingredients -the female doctor did and said the spore one they were really good at- apparently the male doctor brings his own pills or sells his own brand of pills within the store -so they say- but they were the same pills we saw the one time we visited before so it looks like a complete scam ... they put you in a very high pressure sales pitch position and before you know it you walked out with $100 bucks of junk that they say is non refundable. I called the lady and explained to her that my mother discontinued use 3 days later and she was very rude ... NO REFUNDS they never even gave us a receipt but they say no refunds ... I asked if 2 out of the 10 items we were pressured into buying could get
store credit (we ended up with a $35 bottle to 'relieve the kidney' and a $33 to relieve the liver' and a bunch of other $7 bottles and some teas ... it was around $100 bucks after we got browbeaten ... if you are a polite person they will run over you ... we should have told them to go shove it and walked out! ... MORAL OF THE STORY IS DON'T GET SUCKERED INTO THEIR HIGH PRESSURE SALES PITCH AND WHY BUY IN A STORE THAT HAS A NO RETURN POLICY ON ANYTHING!
