Dr. Pirotte and his staff are top notch. He reviewed xrays from another doctor I had xray my dog Max. As I wanted a second opinion. I sent him a disc of Max's x rays. My dogs had been a patient of this great doctor for several years. He did not charge me for reviewing the XRays and he gave me good and solid advice. As Max is improving.

Roughly two days later the front office girl called me to see how Max was doing. Now remember since Max is going to daycare where there is another doctor in hand Max is not under Dr. Pirotte's care. HOWEVER, he still felt the need to call me to see how Max was coming along.

Needless to say Max is returning to Dr. Pirotte as a patient BECAUSE OF THE CUSTOMER SERVICE. That one phone call reinforced everything that I admired about KC Animal Hospital and so many doctors forget that customer service is important. He showed genuine concern and that one simple two minute phone call made me feel good and that Max was important to him and his staff.

We dropped our dogs off for a 2 night stay and advised them that one of the dogs had a food allergy and we were in the process of changing her diet and our regular vet was treating it.
When we picked them up we were herded into an exam room and told that they had treated the dogs ears against our instructions and without our permission. The cost was 3 X what we had just paid our regular vet for the same medication. This was an unauthorized expense arbitrarily added to the bill by the girl handling the boarding kennel. We never saw the vet and they never called us for approval. We were furious. We felt gouged and taken advantage of. This was opportunistic and the cost was wildly excessive.
Emergency care by all means. Not just any old reason to pump up the bill without our permission.
Since then, weve been hounded by reminder mailings which then escalated into phone calls. I emailed the office and asked that they stop. I mentioned how irritated I was about our bitter experience with them. Dr. Pirotte left me a voice mail offering a refund of the unauthorized charges.
Needless to say, we havent received the refund.

Dr. Bates has been very professional and compassionate, just what we want for our four legged members of our family! Their health concerns are taken seriously and treated promptly. She has been outstanding in helping keep our animals (two cats and two dogs) up to date on their shots and healthy. Can't thank her enough!
