knockout was recommended to me from a friend of mine, so we tried it out and i knew instantly that this was the gym for me. the workouts keep you interested and there are different instructors so the workouts change up with each one! its a great environment they treat you like family the minute you walk through the door and its honestly the greatest way to stay in shape! Its fun, great instructors and overall a very well ran gym! i tell everyone i know to sign up there!

I joined Knockout Fitness about a month ago knowing I had to lose weight for health reasons. I am already down 10lbs and it has been the most enjoyable way of doing it. The classes are an hour long butt kicking and yet it is fun at the same time. I get such great stress relief from the punching bags and walk out feeling refreshed every time. My friends are already noticing my results and have started working out with me. Couldn't be happier!!

Best decision so far, my neighbor told me about knockout fitness and invited me to come join her in one of their classes. Let me tell you
this was non stop action, from the warm up to the time we put on the boxing gloves and started hitting the bags. Never had a workout this hard but that was actually fun, thanks guys at Knockout Fitness!!!

I have been going to Knockout since it opened and I couldn't be happier. There are times I get lazy but as long as I get my bum into the gym I am good to go. The classes are just as good as personal training in my opinion, without the discomfort of one on one that I don't care for. Out of the hundreds? of members I have only seen very happy people. The gym is very clean and well kept. You are in and out in an hour with an amazing workout and the staff is better now then it has ever been before.

Knockout fitness sucks straight up! If I could give them a rating of 0 or less I would defintely do it! The instructors can't even throw a kick or a punch let alone teach martial arts, lol. Don't waste your time or money there. Your better off learning martial arts from a "billy blanks tai-bo cd" than learning at "stupid knockout fitness", lol. The owner of the place is an A hole and like a "snake oil salesman". He would be the type who would sue a paralyzed person. He just wants to suck you into these impossible 5 year contracts you can't get out of, just to make a quick buck.

I love taking the noon classes at this gym, it helps me get through my day. The high energy classes that always kick my butt, to the staff who always very welcoming. Not to mention the gym is very clean which is a plus. Thanks knockout for being a part of my everyday.

I joined Knockout 3 weeks ago knowing that i need to lose about 160 pounds. Now i am the last person who has any motivation or even likes to workout but the instructors give me the confidence I need to be successful. I like that they tell me what I am doing right and wrong. They push me and tell me how great I am doing which is just what I need. Joining this gym is going to be life changing for me. Thank you!

This is a great place to workout. Daniel is a great instructor and keeps me coming back. I feel stronger and am getting my bikini body back. More of a mom and pop joint than a commercial gym which is another reason I love it.

Let me start by saying that this place is going downhill FAST. I just recently terminated my contract with them for personal reasons & I am happy to have done so. I have friends that still go there (NOT FOR LONG) & friends that are still trainers there (NOT FOR LONG). I just found out that another 1 of their trainers left (not sure of the reason) & now they only have a couple left there. My friend just told me that they are looking to hire a new person as a trainer & that he has had NO REAL EXPERIENCE of any kind. This shows the owners do not value their employess, customers, or even what they are trying to sell/promote. It's a JOKE! How can you do that to your current employees & members?

I WOULD STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS JOKE OF A GYM AS POSSIBLE!

My husband, son and I have been going to this gym for the past 2 1/2 years. We have taken advantage of every aspect of this gym, from regular classes to personal training. We have trained with instructors in MMA and participated in the fight nights. We have always had a blast and always been treated with the upmost respect. The staff is always friendly, helpful and encouraging. I have been training with Dougie for the past 4 months and would highly recommend him as a personal trainer. He keeps the workouts fresh and helps build on both your strengths and weaknesses. My husband and I are having alot of fun learning new techniques in jiu jitsu and plan to continue to train at this gym for some time to come. Thanks Knockout Fitness!

WOW! Its quite obvious that the majority of these reviews are fake! Me and my son have been members for 2 months and are both very pleased. We spend as much time there as we possibly can. All the trainers are very friendly, and energetic and make the classes VERY fun! I have never seen them treat anybody different from another. All the members are also very welcoming and friendly and always try to help eachother out. Its very sad to see all the horrible reviews when the place is such a great place to be, and they have a great group of trainers. I was more happy than i would have ever thought i would have been after i joined. Its a great workout., plus you are learning technique. To anybody who has read these reviews i think you need to give it a chance, i swear you will be pleased and then you will be right here with me, agreeing that these reviews are from people in competition with them and are just being jerks, its sucks that people can get a way with writing false reviews!!! ITS A GREAT TIME!!!! YOU WILL LOVE IT!!! Amy :)

I am a Brown Belt from Lotus Club jiujitsu.... the jiujitsu program is legit at Knockout. The brown belt instructors, Doug/ Russell, are the good instructors and care about the art of BJJ and students progression. Ryan Eniem is Bruno Ewalds first black belt and Bruno recieved his Black belt from Royler (Gracie Humaita). It doesn't get more legit than that. train hard guys. Osssss!

* I am instructor at another gym and gain no benefit from this.

Does anyone else think that it is strange that just recently the "owner" of Knockout Fitness rebuttals many concerns of member/ individuals that are having issues with his place of business, and in his response names off a place that does not exist as far as a Google search engine says!!! "My two jiu-jitsu instructors both have brown belts under the Ryan Eniem black belt academy." I thought the whole Dangerous Groundz team being ran by someone who has a brown belt from a non existent place seems rather strange?!?! Can the owner rebuttal that also, or try to make an excuse, or lie about it?1?! I say that is Ludacris in other words it is ridiculous! If there was a way to give Zero stars, that would be my overall business rating for Knockout Fitness!

I??ve seen various sites with low ranks about this place that provide great information, and I??ve also seen some high ranking sites too. I decided to test it myself and I think the readers should know the truth. This gym is filled with arrogant trainers that think their way is the only way to do things. They all seem to be thugs that party all night and bring their problems to work the next day. Also, it doesn??t matter if it??s your first time kickboxing or you??ve been a devoted participant, they train everyone the same. Not cool, and this tale about their two ??Brown? belt Jiu Jitsu instructors, they both say they were trained in Hawaii and have been here in AZ for a few years. However, I can??t find any information about them or their credibility except for the knockout fitness website. As for Ryan Eniem black belt academy, that Dave Muir (owner) states they trained with and received their brown belts under, I can??t find any info on it either. Ummm? Maybe this explains why their BJJ or MMA classes are a bit shady. We all have different preferences and we can take our business elsewhere, which is what I am doing.

I walked through the doors of Knockout Fitness a little intimidated, but that all went away as soon as I was greeted. The entire staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. They made me feel welcome, helping me and instructing along the way. They know what they are doing!
The classes are incredible! I have never felt so good after a workout! And I haven't felt like I do, transforming my body! I take the am boxing and kick-boxing classes, and the instructors are amazing! They push you out of the comfort zone for yourself, letting each person gauge their own workout to their needs and level.
I give a huge recommendation for this gym. The classes are outstanding, plus you have the cardio equipment and weights as an added benefit...all included in one membership price.
Truly an incredible place worth trying! If you love a great workout, you will fall in love with Knockout Fitness! I know I have!!
*** I have to comment on the negative reviews...I hope a prospective client will be able to read into these and see that they are written by people who must have too much time on their hands...a bunch of teenagers trying to cause drama. Don't believe any of it!
Come in and try it out! Seeing for yourself is believing...the workout will knock you out, and leave you wanting more!***

I can't believe how pathetic some people are. You sit here & try to post NOTHING BUT LIES about AWESOME PEOPLE.

THE ENTIRE STAFF AT KNOCKOUT FITNESS IS AMAZING! Their customer service is by far the best. They make every single member of their gym feel right at home.

Nikki- Everything you posted about KNOCKOUT FITNESS truly shows your ignorance. To say "they are asking people who aren't even members to post reviews"??? How do you review something if you don't know anything about it?!?! Who would the staff know well enough to ask them to post a review that wouldn't already be a member?!?! I can tell right now that you're probably a lazy, overweight person that can't do their workouts & is miserable with yourself. GET A LIFE!!!

KNOCKOUT FITNESS IS THE PLACE TO BE!!!

Becoming a member to knockout fitness was one of the best decsions i've made. The staff is welcoming and the classes are very rewarding for me. After I had my daughter i've been having trouble losing the weight but since joining the gym i've lost 15 pounds so far. The classes are fun and full of energy. Thank you knockout fitness for helping me to achieve my goals and more. I would recommend this gym to anyone.

First of all I read all the reviews before going to go try-out knockout fitness, and after going and trying it out I don't know why people are so negative. From the moment I walked in I was greeted with a smile by the general manager who made me feel at ease of trying out the workout he Introduced me to the instructor who made sure that I was ready to get thru the workout and made sure that igot thru the class. Let me tell you it kicked my butt and ever since have recommend it to all my friends and anyone that wants a intense workout. Thank you guys at knockout fitness for turning my life around, I have so much energy and can take on the world. Thx

First of all, I want to be very clear on this review. I am the owner of Knockout Fitness. My name is David Muir and have owned 100% of this company under my corporation from day one. I have personally hired each employee and stand by each one of them 100%. When it comes to instructors we do our very best to hire and maintain the best we can find, but like all other industries some have came and left. When it comes to some reviews questioning the skill level of the instructors, I will tell you this, they all have extensive fighting and fitness backgrounds. My two jiu-jitsu instructors both have brown belts under the Ryan Eniem black belt academy. My stand up MMA coach is widely known throughout the Phoenix area as one of the top Muay Thai kickboxing coaches. One of my boxing coaches, trains and works the corner for an undefeated professional boxer who is with Golden Boy Promotions, which is Oscar De La Hoya's promotion. And yet another instructor is a current amateur MMA fighter that has a 2-1 record. Needless to say, even writing this and knowing these gentleman, I am impressed and thrilled to have them. When it comes to the reviews that are unhappy about their monthly payments, I offer them two explainations for the price varience. First off, because we work strictly off of member referralls and do very little advertising, we offer a $5 reduction of membership dues to anyone who refers us a member that joins the gym. So to answer the inquiry that one pays one price and someone else pays a lower price for the same style membership, the one member probably referred some other members. The other explaination is as simple as this, gyms from time to time run membership sales. We all do it, just like airlines, restaurants, and practically every business you can think of. When it comes to the term of agreements, yes we have 12 month and 24 month agreements, but we also offer a month to month agreement. The people that are frustrated with the termed agreement are the same people that chose that agreement when they signed up. Of course our termed agreements are a little less expensive but nothing substantial. These members chose to save $10 a month to sign a termed agreement. Lastly, none of my instructors would ever intentially harm a member and in fact 95% of our members will never step foot in a ring. We are first and foremost a fitness facility that offers something different from the mundane treadmill and weight lifting gyms. Hopefully this response will clear up any misconception of the gym and my goal is to provide a safe, clean, and fun place in Surprise for any and everyone to get in shape!!!

Thanks,
Dave

This place is a waste of money. I have been to most gyms in the surrounding area and this one makes the bottom of my list. Went there last week and the instructors are horrible. How they can call this place a boxing/kickboxing gym is beyond me. Last time I checked the person teaching me is supposed to know how to throw a punch or kick before they try and tell me how to do it. Save your money....do Tae-bo or something. If no stars was an option for rating I would use it

I heard that, that one coach "Russell Morita" got his ass kicked in the ring by one of his students. The owner of knockout fitness and the staff told that student to leave and to never come back. Knockout fitness instructors sound like a bunch of crybaby sore losers, lol... If anything they should have told the teacher to leave not the student. I say if the students can beat up the instructors, then that place isn't even worth trying out, lol.

Knockout fitness instructors sound like a bunch of crybaby sore losers, lol... If anything they should have told the teacher to leave not the student. I say if the students can beat up the instructors, then that place isn't even worth trying out, lol.

Some people are so damn crabby. This gym is geared more towards fitness than professional martial arts training. I dig all the instructors laid back attitudes and joking around. All of the boxing/kickboxing classes I have been to have kicked my ass, and I'm a pretty fit chick. I love nothing more than leaving the gym soaking in my own sweat, and seeing other people leave the same way is motivating! Maybe you grumpy guys should suck it up. Next time you join a gym, try training before you jump in the ring and get your ass kicked. You deserve it for being a macho moron.

Repulisive is a great way to describe knockout fitness lol. Words can't describe how horrible and hideous that place is. Those instructors "doug gayagas" and "russell morita" are terrible instructors along with all the rest of them. doug is only a blue belt and russell is only a yellow belt lol. I would think that if knockout fitness is going to teach a complicated art like jiu-jitsu, that you need BLACK BELTS teaching, not no lousy half ass blue and yellow belts."david muir", the owner of knockout fitness wants to make the most amount of money from a person and give him the least quality service that he can , just so he can save his cheap ass money.

I have to say that I believe if you are conducting a business where marital art are being taught, there is an unstated understanding that the instructors should be qualified to teach it. With that said I also believe that there is a level of respect not only taught but should be practiced in the classroom and out when it comes to martial arts. Senior Instructor Dougie Gayagas spit in a member??s face. If the management or owner of Knockout Fitness wants to hire a person who can disrespect and degrade a woman/member, what does that say about there business? I think for anyone to spit in another persons face is more than just unacceptable. This jeopardizes the integrity of Knockout Fitness.

Whether you agree with their customer service or aesthetics of the of the gym, Knockout Fitness provides a work-out you cannot get at a standard gym. No where will you get the feel of what it's like to do a real boxing/kickboxing work-out with real heavy bags, not air. I have been working out for quite sometime, and nothing gave me the results like that of their classes and personal training. All the instructors have their own style...you don't like one, take another one. You don't want a contract...pay month to month, or drop-in. Either way, Knockout Fitness provides a quality service that can be obtained by all. You don't have to be an MMA fighter or professional boxer to walk into this gym. You can be anyone who just wants to get the best possible work-out they can. Once a week or everyday....there is nothing like it!

Well I have to say I agree with all the comments about the contracts. Who in this day and age has contracts. You can go to any other gym and pay month to month, but Knockout Fitness has some bogus contract to get money. If they really cared about the people working out and providing them the best gym around, then they would let people pay month to month with no contract attached. I have taken many classes and agree in the beginning it is great! But very soon after became bored. I would say that I'm in very good shape and it was a fun mix up in my routine, but it no longer does much for me. Take it as you may, but I would say this type of gym would do better if you could just pay as you go.. meaning stop in for an occasional change up every once in awhile. Any long term contract with this gym in my opinion is a waist of money.

I dont understand why every body wants to bag on the gym because I've been here for over a year and have done nothing but progress in my training and my cardio also. I think that the people that leave the negative coments just need to have drama to feel important and have the center of attention and have no need to be in the gym in the first place.

I would have to say that I disagree with all the negative comments. The staff at knockout fitness has been nothing but helpful to me from day one. This is the first time i've ever taken classes like this and the instructors have helped me every single time im there. They have helped me lose weight and i've never felt better. I would reccommend everyone I know to join Knockout Fitness. GREAT GYM!

Yeah I agree with you, you have to be tough for mma but when the instructor takes you in the ring and beats the crap out of you bare knuckle, thats another issue. You don't even see the instructors doing that on the ultimate fighter tv show. You might see the instructors sparring with you in grappling on the mat, or boxing you with boxing gloves but you definitely don't see them beating you to a pulp bare knuckle like you do at knockout fitness. That knockout fitness is a bad place. The owner could care less about the students needs and just cares more about putting money in his pocket.

This "gym" is ok, nothing to brag about, that's for sure. I think it is good for a small town and gives people somewhere else to go for a workout. I'm not sure about some of the trainers though, a couple of them seem to be winging it when he is trying to lead a class. Their other class seems to be a MMA 101 session for guys wanting to try it out. Other than that, It's kinda questionable when you see so many negative comments. I'd have to ask the same question as everyone else: what's the major issue here? Is it the program or the people?

Knockout fitness completely sucks! I wouldn't recommend that place to anybody! All the instructors are horrible there and don't care about the students needs. The first day that I worked out there I was beaten to a pulp in the ring by a tall hispanic instructor. He seemed not to like me for some reason and would stare me down and harass me everytime I walked in the place. There was another incident where a short stocky hawaiian instructor demanded that I sparred with him in the ring! So I did and he kicked me repeatedly in the thigh so hard that I almost couldn't walk for a week and I saw where he almost knocked out another student out in the ring and he seemed very uncaring about it. I just couldn't take it anymore! I took my business else where!

I have to say WHAT is with all the kids running around in there ALL the time! I thought this was a gym not a playground! When I signed up I did not see any sign ups for childcare. Then to have some of the trainers there bringing their kids in too. I understand there are times under emergency situations where you might have to bring your child to work with you, but on a routine basis is another thing. I want to workout, NOT worry about kids running all over, interrupting, getting in my face. This is my workout time and place! If I wanted to workout with children all around me then I would have joined Gymboree!
