I love the atmosphere, but the parking is a pain in the neck. The overall feel though is the BEST!!!!

Mann Village Theatre in Westwood Village is my favorite theatre in the Los Angeles area. It often gets overshadowed by ArcLight Hollywood, the Grove, Landmark Westside Pavilion, and other theatres. These other locations are trendier, but I prefer classic over trendy mutliplexes which is basically what these other theatres are. You still can't help the fact you're gonna be packed into these other theatre auditoriums like sardines on a busy Saturday night and I hate that! With over 1,400 seats, including a balcony, Mann Village offers a great seat everytime without the added inconvenience of an irritating stranger seated right next to you. This theatre boasts digital projection, awesome loud surround sound, GREAT popcorn (AMC be damned!), a raised curtain that exposes the screen (remember those days??!!), and a cavernous viewing experience. This theatre was meant for Big Event films.

I saw Hillary Duff come out of a limo to a permiere here. The food is lousy, not enough theatres, too crowded, and the movie projector seems to have a problem. I saw rodents and the quality of sound if always having an off day.

Pros: Movie stars come and there are premieres

Cons: Prices Prices Prices

when a movie opens (and youre a fanatic with a star wars/superman/pirate costume to tout), then you go here. grab a bunch of friends and stock up on jose bernstein or bj's pizza followed by a diddy ice-cream sandwich as you wait in line. the audience is lively--be prepared to hear people react to the film. when i saw Killl Bill here, the audience got so into it that at each chapter and everytime Uma kicked butt, everyone would clap. im not big on sound quality but you can hear the difference here. to top it off, the place is classicly beautiful.

park at broxton for two hrs free and after 6pm, the flat rate is only $3.

Pros: premieres and opening day, active n' enthused audience, sound quality

One of the many theaters in and around Westwood/UCLA, the Mann Village is a nice choice for students wanting to grab a movie. With $7 student specials and even $5 matinee shows, this place is a hit with the students in this area. The only down side is that it is not a multiplex so you can only see one movie and wait until another one hits the screens. But since the area already has so many of these stand alone theaters, it is usually not a problem!

Recommended stress-buster!

If you love to stalk celebrities then this is definitely the place to go. Movie premieres are held here on a regular basis and celbrities such as Tom Cruise, Jessica Alba, Nicole Kidman, and many more have graced the red carpet here in Westwood. In addition, this is also a great place to go as it offers an expansive screen in a giant auditorium that immerses you in the movie going experiences. If you love movies and celebrities and don't care much for the opulence of the lobby, then this is the place to go.

What else can you say, except this is what viewing a film is all about. Experience this film the way the directors vision you viewing it. The theater is exceptional and despite the usual extravagant cost that come with movies today, get ready for the experience like the stars that view the movies for the first time.

The sister movie theater of the Mann Bruin, it is a little smaller but still offers a wonderful viewing experience. The location is also a popular place for movie premieres.

PROS: Nice atmosphere
CONS: Parking!!!

Everyone needs to see a movie here once - it's one of the rare single theaters left in this country - and one of the best. Of course, many movie premieres take place here, and that alone is worth the price of admission. Surprisingly huge inside - 2 levels. You don't get the fancy stadium seating here, but the screen is big enough to make up for any obstacles in your line of sight

There are very few single-screen theatres left in Southern California. The Mann Village Theatre is one of them, and you are in for a treat well worth the terrible parking situation in Westwood Village should you see a film here. This is one of 2 theatres where the bulk of Los Angeles movie premieres take place, and you can just imagine yourself walking down the red carpet toward this theatre. The theatre has been gloriously maintained, with nice but classic carpet, interior decor, and red plush seats. The screen is huge and beautiful, and it seems that there are 1000 seats in the theatre. Even the bathrooms are gorgious and plush. You won't get modern frills here, and there is no additional entertainment at this theatre...but who needs it? You will really enjoy yourself while patronizing this theatre.

There are many movie theaters in Westwood, but the Mann Village stands out not only because of its towering "Fox" sign, but also because of its sound and picture presentation. This is a movie theater built in 1931 and although its interior is not as elaborate as the Chinese or the El Capitan, it still has that wonderful feel of an old movie palace and so hosts many major hollywood premiers. If you want to see an event picture on the West Side, this is the place to go.

The Fox Theater is great on opening nights with a lively college crowd. If you can manage it, try the movie from the first row in the balcony. Sometimes the movies can be loud, so this is a great place to see it all, yet be back from the speakers a bit.

Also, this is a great place to watch the crowds for the eventful premiers found at the theater around the year.

While it's no Grauman's, the Village place is a great place to catch the latest blockbuster. I'm lucky enough to live near the Village, and I prefer seeing a movie here over another theater, unless it's something like the Matrix or X2, which I catch at Grauman's first. Big screen, great atmosphere, student discount, wonderful THX, digital projection for certain movies, and a charming decor you won't find at a multi-plex, what's not to love? Buy some $.35 cookies from Diddy Reese to munch on and you're in for a great evening.
