.

The service was as slow as it gets. The food was delivered cold and each dish was nearly tasteless (the crabcakes were ok). Rather than completely blow a good evening we made an executive decision to stop mid-meal,got our check and went down the street for thai food. It was like leaving in the middle of a terrible movie.

Pros: Nice decor; attractive ladies

Cons: The food

East is amazing! the place is beautiful, their drink menu isnt that big but the drinks themselves are amazing. the food was great, everything we ordered kept turning out better than the next. However; the food portions are so small we had to order so much food to barely get somewhat full! Don't go here if your extremely hungry, you might not get full. Better to go for appetizers and drinks. Overall, it was great! I would def. go back again

As a somewhat newcomer to L.A. i've found that most "trendy" hollywood places don't live up to the hype. East is not one of those places. When you first walk in you're greeted by an array of intricate and ornate decorations. The decor is somewhat over the top but very breathtaking. The restaurant is pretty well laid out, the front part is more of a bar/lounge and the back has actual seating. The food, however, is the best part of this place. They use very unique flavor combinations and everything we had was great. We really enjoyed their "dinasour egg" and kobe steak. My friend had a basil martini (which sounds weird but was actually really great) and I had a cucumber green tea concotion that was equally as good. Overall we had a great experience and will definetely be returning.
