I have always wanted a Chrysler 300, and checked out the David Ellis website online. I saw a used one that I thought might be good, so I went in for a test drive. The car I drove had too many miles, so they upsold me on a newer, used model that was much more expensive.

They told me that they would "throw in" a lifetime warranty to sweeten the deal if I bought the car that night... So I made the deal.

Unfortunately - and this is my bad and I take full responsibility for this because I should have known better... They didn't throw in the warranty, they rolled it into the price of the car ( it cost me $2700.00). And there is a $150.00 deductible for service on top of that! This was completely misrepresented to me when I bought the car, and is potentially fraud.

I didn't know my credit score when I went into the dealership (again, My bad) And their finance department said I had a score of 620 - and that put me at a disadvantage in the negotiations. I agreed to a loan with an interest rate of 4.25 % fixed - when I got my first bill, I was shocked (and PISSED) to find out the rate was 5.25% and it was a revolving interest rate that was already spiraling upward. And I found out after the fact that my FICO score was 795! Fortunately, with that great credit rating I was able to refinance the loan elsewhere at 2.5 %, saving me a few thousand over the life of the loan.

Their finance department insisted I HAD to have $900.00 in GAP insurance - which was completely untrue, because I put a down payment of almost a third of the price of the car. More fraudulent behavior.

Its only been a couple of months, and I've already had to take the car back twice for problems. I was completely fed up, so I insisted that they refund the GAP insurance and the extended warranty. I was supposed to get a refund within 30 days; it's been 6 weeks and still no refund. Now I have to spend time and money taking these shysters to court.

Beware of their sales manager Al, he's slick as babyshit and twice as nasty. He'll do anything to close the sale, then it's AMF.

I won't make the same mistake twice. You shouldn't make it the first time - DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE FROM DAVID ELLIS CHRYSLER!

All I really have to say is wow. I felt like I was the most important customer in the building, which I couldn't really have been since I was one of about 5 AND I was only looking at used cars. Not exactly the kind of person most

Ok, first of all, their service department is open practically all day on Saturday, which I was not expecting at all. Amazing! You always hear bad things about service at dealerships, like that they charge more than an independent mechanic or a chain like Pep Boys or that they are always trying to sell you more than you need. NOT TRUE!

I have never, ever been over charged (I've checked their price against the Pep Boys closer to my house a few times). Also, everyone from the service manager to the guys who drive your car up once it's done are friendly, helpful, and really willing to answer questions. Once, when my car was brought up after service I asked the young man for directions and he stood there with me for a few extra minutes, even though he probably had a ton of other things to do. I have had a few sales people come up to me while I've been waiting for my car, but they never try to push me when I tell them I'm just there for service. They usually let me be, or talk to me for a few minutes, but they never try to sell me a new car.

Even though this place is a little out of the way for me (and expensive to get towed to!), I really wouldn't want to take my car anywhere else.

They never called when they said they would. They were constantly trying to up sell me even after i told them i was struggling finacially. They fixed the problem i went in for but there were new and additional problems that i discovered only after i got my car home. they placed the blame on me when i merely asked them what it could be. they neglected to tell me about simple fixes that might hurt my car in the long run that my brother had to point out to me (corrosion on the battery)
Overall... I feel very unhappy with the experience.

Pros: Close

Cons: poor service

It is a real shame that the people that write some of these review have no idea what they are talking about or they work for another"dealer ship". There is no bases that the seveice dept takes cars on joy rides. If they were to go on joy rides it would be much easier to take a dealership car. Also they do not make money if they are not working on a car as they get paid for the cars they work on and not an hourly wage. So these rumors do not make sense at ALL... Your friend is completly wrong and needs to recant his statement as he is way off base.

A very good friend of mine told me that the mechanics at this shop take your vehicle on a "joy ride" while your vehicle is in their control. I was familiar with the vehicle in question and the on going service issue with her vehicle. When the problem was brought up to the sales manager, & the previous sales person who sold my friend the vehicle, they were of no use whatsoever in resolving the dispute. They were told to seek resolution with the franchise's owner. If you purchase a vehicle from these folks make sure you have it serviced elsewhere...buyer beware.
