I am so inspired by this school's mission, by the diversity of students (yes race but also level, age, interest), and by the scope of classes available. It feels like a safe place to be myself and explore my songwriting. I have used the tools I learned here time and again and can't wait to figure out what I'll take next. The sense of community is wonderful, being around other musicians on regular basis talking about my greatest passion in any capacity is definitely how I want to spend my free time!!

Pros: Songwriting haven and springboard.

Cons: A little far from home and yet so very worth the drive.

The Songwriting School (and teacher Rob Seals) gave me a place to do something bigger than learning to write great songs. It's a community of creative people - who are also really great at directing that creative passion into song.

I always leave energized, inspired about my songwriting.

But it's their passionate, personal approach to teaching that leaves me with something more powerful each time: The realization that it is MY personal story that can make great art. What they do is teach how to harness that unique story - and turn it into something universal ... a song.

I know that sounds cheesy, lofty - but it's exactly why you'd choose The Songwriting School over "How to write a hit song" kinds of classes. Here you learn how to write YOUR best songs - which is the only kind of "hit" I'd wanna write :)

Kudos!

Pros: Teachers teach Creative Process - not just nuts & bolts!

Cons: none!
