The North Cliff is a wonderful place that we keep coming back to year after year. Upon arrival, we are always greeted with smiles and a complimentary bottle of champagne. The room is spacious and always exemplary with attention to cleanliness and amenities. Though there is no room service available, everything in town is close by for a quick stroll or even shorter ride.
The staff at North Cliff is always very friendly and always nearby should you require anything. The fog horn in the nearby harbor is romantic (as well as a necessity), and adds to the overall charm of this quaint fishing village.

Pros: on the beach, friendly staff, jacuzzi, fireplace

The rooms are very nice. The downside is it's pricey and you get better service anywhere else. There is no laundry room, no lobby (it's basically mini apartments) or any other facilities outside of your room. You get what comes with the room - no service outside of standard maid service. The skelton staff is in a different building and they aren't about to go out in the cold and fog. There is no room service (even though this company's other nearby property has a restaurant) and we were told the only delivery in town is from Round Table Pizza. We unfortunately ordered from Round Table on a Saturday night and ended up waiting two hours for delivery.

I don't know if you can do better for your money in Fort Bragg (this was our first stay in Fort Bragg), but you certainly can get more value for your money at many other coastal properties up and down the state.

Pros: Nice Rooms

Cons: Poor Service

In Sept-05, our room (a top floor unit with jacuzzi and fireplace) at The North Cliff Hotel was spacious and immaculate. Amenities included bathrobes, high quality toiletries, high grade coffe, free wireless internet, and each day a small refrigerator was stocked with complimentary croissants, muffins, fruit, Mendocino chocolates, juice and water. All rooms are oceanfront. Walk to the docks for a seafood meal. Beach access. I will return, but there are gotchas with this hotel. (1) It's pricey. (2) A very loud foghorn/buoy goes off every few minutes. Closing the windows muffles it, but then you cannot enjoy the ocean air, and the rooms get stuffy. (3) The fireplace is situated behind the jacuzzi, so it is not well located for either romance or heat. (4) There is no fitness center.
