I took a friend who was visiting Chicago for the first time, from Buenos Aires. I had watched a great segment about The Purple Pig on the TV show 24/7 with Catie Keogh and Pete McMurray -- everything looked great. Key word, "looked."

Its rare to find a truly original concept in the food industry, but the chef's here have gone above and beyond. If your looking for truly cool, fun experience - then this is it! It has a great waitstaff, and bar staff was truly fun. I

Great wine list and a well trained staff. The food was a joke. stuffed olives were tasteless. The Waygu Beef with fingerling potato (yes ONE tasteless fingerling potato) was not good...pretty sure it wasn't Waygu anyway. Maybe a good place

i was always curious about the purple pig when walking by and finally ventured in with a coworker on an early saturday evening! it was FABULOUS! not only one of the best dirty martinis i've had in a long time but also an incredible wine list! the small plates are perfect for tasting and sharing a few. beet salad with goat cheese and pistachios is great! so is the deviled egg!! highly recommend!

Amazing small plates, cool wine list - and all very reasonably priced! definitely a welcome legit addition to this typically touristy area!

As the name suggests, there's plenty of pork-centric items on the menu at this Michigan Avenue wine bar. To wit: pork-fat-fried almonds (try and eat just one), pork liver pate, pork blade steak with Nduja and honey, and pig's ear with…
