The ER nurses and doctors are abusive if they have a patient they judge unworthy of help. If the patient complains, they retaliate with even worse treatment, and they talk loudly in the hearing of other patients about the complaint they received. They voice judgments about a patient even when they are completely ignorant of the patient's history.

In the past year, I have had 2 major surgeries at BHE. There are not enough adjectives to praise my surgeons. Dr. Werner for spinal surgery and Dr. Tien operated on my thumb. Their surgical incisions are very small and healed beautifully and at this time, minimal scarring. I do feel that I need to express my displeasure of the nursing care I received the first night of my back surgery. The night nurse did not check on me at all the entire shift. Luckily my daughter stayed with me and was able to care for me, due to the nurses and one aid's incompetence. I had severe nausea and vomitng, but the floor nurse refused to call my Dr. To get an order for an IV anti-emetic. They wanted to give me an IM injection of phenergan, which is very painful. My daughter and I both, are registered nurses with many years of experience. I already had a lot of post-op pain and did not need that compounded with a painful injection. We asked to speak to the house supervisor and she refused to get the order as well. My daughter asked for assistance to pull me up in bed and the floor nurse as well as the nursing assistant were at a loss on how to do this. They were reluctant to assist at all. The following morning, when the neurosurgeon (who assisted Dr. Werner) came in to do a post-op assessment, he was appalled that he or Dr. Werner had not been notified of my request for an IV anti-emetic. Also, during that same night, my daughter asked for a blanket and the nurse pointed to a closet and said,""They're in there"", refusing to get out of her chair to retrieve the blanket for her. As I said, this only occurred the first night of my stay. Fortunately, that nurse, nor the nursing assistant worked on that floor for the remainder of my stay. After my first night, the nurses, and other staff members were exceptional in their care for me.\n\n of phenergan, which is very painful. My daughter and I are both registered nurses

I delivered the most important thing to me in the whole word, my daugther. I had the BEST nurse that I have ever met in life Suzanne. My one and only daughter was born at Baptist Hospital East and if I have any more children this is where I would deliverer again. My nurse made the whole experience the best experience I could have ever had!

PROS: Friendly, Caring, Wonder Nurses!

I had both of my children here and i would never go anywhere else. This place is the top of the line. They have the new ultrasound. They have all the new technology and the best doctors. I had a very high risk pregnancy. And my baby was fine thanks to this hospital and its staff..

PROS: new ultrasounds
CONS: none

They staff is great and friendly. Rooms are smaller and less facilites than Norton's Hospital's. They can get backed up and busy in deliver department. The antheoligist wasn't as good as the one at Norton's. Took more than once for my epidural. Nice, clean and friendly environment.

PROS: Friendly and caring.

I really enjoyed my birth experience at Baptist East. I was in a clean room with caring nurses who too great care of my daughter and I. Everything went very well and I will definitely return with my next baby!

I do NOT recommend their ER services however, I had the most horrible experience of my life there and will NEVER EVER EVER return there again! That staff is full of the most ignorant, uncaring people I have ever met. I honestly don't know how these two groups of people can work under the same roof, they are like night and day!

The staff at this hospital really take pride in what they do. The hospital is kept very clean and well-maintained. The several departments that we had come in contact with made us feel important and allowed us to feel at ease. They have nice waiting areas that allow you to feel like you are in the comforts of your own home. The staff is knowledgeable in what they do . The cafeteria is great. Delicious healthy foods to choose from. Good prices. We all ate large healthy meals for under $12.00Overall is was a pleasant experience for us all. There is plenty of parking to choose from. It is located in a nice area and around other businesses in case you have someone staying overnight. You could leave and do some shopping or eat out.

PROS: Wonderful Staff , Wonderful Establishment
CONS: n/a
