I have been going to Juut for years, and every time I go in, I come out feeling ridiculously gorgeous.

Certainly, Juut Uptown is now the training facility for Juut artists, and so you get what you pay for. I get my hair colored by one of the master colorists and cut by one of the never-ending revolving door of trainees, but skill level aside, they have all been just exceptional.

I believe that the artists at Juut take their mission seriously. They strive to not only make you look better, but they strive to make sure that you have an exceptional experience at Juut, and to make your day better.

Any negative reviews posted on this site I would not even consider.

Pros: AMAZING!!

Cons: There aren't any.

I've been to Juut a dozen times, each with a new and different trainee. I went last night to Ali and her fake fingernails *dug* into my scalp during the shampoo so badly I wanted to cry! Someone teach this girl how to give a gentle shampoo! Her cut was alright, she did take the time to listen to what I wanted. But then when it came time for the styling at the end, once again, brush wacking me in the face, fingernails poking my ears, hair pulled SO HARD during the blow dry that it took a half hour I wanted to scream! She styled my hair like a Snooky with boofant height, I looked ridiculous. I was so annoyed and in pain after I left, I'll never go back again!

Pros: Nice environment

Cons: Painful haircut and wash by trainee

Jutt Downtown has been my salonspa for two years. Typical I get my haircut by Pearson K. He has great skills {even works at NYC Fashion weeks every year} and looks good using them. I have really thick and course hair, so it is hard to find a stylist. He does an amazing job and listens well sometimes.
I have also gotten mani/pedis, facials and massages there and they were all wonderful. The front desk staff seem overworked or just senseless.

Cons: Price and front desk staff

What can you say!?! A day before a big event, this b****h unevenly chopped off my hair and subtly insulted me.

The only thing green about this salon is the $$$.

Stay away from this chain!!!

I found another place and got a $40 fix. Very expensive experience. But I have learned my lesson!

I honestly won't be surprised when they go under.

I heard JJ left and went to a salon called John Richards Salon in Minneapolis. I've already made my appointment with her. I just LOVE the way she cuts my hair too!

When I lived with my parents I had a fantastic stylist and colorist at a salon in my home town. When I left for college, I began with what would become a continuous search for a stylist who would make me feel/look great. I tried the salon near campus, which had cheap student cuts and was a quick walk and was never terribly impressed. Then I got a gift card to Juut . I had never been, so when I called to make an appointment for a cut and foil, I was not caught off guard by them giving me only one appointment time and one name. Halfway through my color, the colorist asked who was cutting my hair and I said that I didn't know. When he checked we learned that no cut had been scheduled. Thankfully they were able to find someone to blowdry my hair. So, I scheduled an for a cut appointment with that stylist. The color I got was fine, not inspiring or amazing. It looked nice and natural, but most people, even my close girlfriends, didn't notice, which is disappointing after paying almost $200. The cut I got a week later was also fine. Not exciting and not better than the cheap cuts I'd been getting while in school. I expected more them.
Recently, I had another appointment , I called the Roseville location and asked for a stylist based on price. I got a cut with JJ. She was AWESOME! I got a great cut, she listened to my input and also helped me find something that would flatter my face. I was so happy and have gotten so many compliments. I had found my stylist! But, alas, on Monday I received a call from Juut saying that JJ is no longer with them and asking me if I'd like to reschedule my next appointment with another stylist. I haven't called them back yet. I just don't know what to do based on my inconsistent experience I've had with them in the past.

I guess I've never had a bad cut or color, but I don't think they necessarily deserve all of the hype they get. Maybe I'll try the stylist my friend uses, and if that fails just try another salon.

From just moving to from Boston to Minneapolis I was left with a really over grown hair cut! I was referred to Haley at uptown salon but after calling there I found her at the southdale mall location! Pulling up to the mall parking lot was diffrent but easy to park! The service she gave me was outstanding! By far better than the $120 haircuts I was paying for on the east coast! She is easy going and really a good listener! Because I have difficult hair I'm always weiry about the first cut with somebody new but she was amazing! She even gave me a special style for going out that night!!!!!

Juut is a large corporate conglomerate. They don't care about their customers (or their employees for that matter). Stylists are ALWAYS in a rush, always. I walk in, sit down in the chair and leave with the same haircut I came in with. Not even refreshed. I'm convinced their sheers are blunt and actually don't do anything. I think the stylists and other employees are better off without Juut. They have talent, but they are so pressured to produce that it doesn't have the chance to come through. I have found a better salon. Referral: Salon Stella. By far. Four stylist chairs, not 50. Personal service.

I have been to many Juuts before and have never found the right stylist! Every time i go in my stylist is at lest 15 min late and seem to hurry me through. My "consultations" were pretty much telling me what they want to do and i had no say what so ever. I really was not happy at all with their recent price raise for their already high prices. The only good thing about them was their front desk people, who when making small talk with are not treated with respect from David Wagner and their corporate office. The one salon i was somewhat happy with was Uptown, but now i hear that is becoming the training salon. I was really enjoying the Aveda Products but now just started Using Kerastase and Pureology. Im defiantly going to recommend MarcDaniel Salon(read my review) in Maple Grove. So if you are considering trying Juut, i would really recommend reconsidering it! You can get a much better haircut for a lot less with a stylist who listens!

I was referred just recently to Jessica and Haley at Juut in uptown. My service was amazing. Despite all of the bad reviews on this sight I thought to myself "people don't see the good things only the bad" Instead I took my friends advice and tried! I left the salon feeling refreshed and energized! They had transformed me in to a stylish trendy almost fifty year old! So to all of those who are reading I give these to ladies top hair stylist in my book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I visited Juut on Grand Ave. for the first time since my return to Minneapolis. I went to see their master stylist. I did not receive a master hairdo. The hair was barely cut, I got too short bangs and the blowout was a joke. I spent the next hour at home trying to make it look better. For what I paid, it was highway robbery. However, Sara, the makeup gal, rocks! She does a great job and is fun to work with. Also, the staff is really nice. I would go back for makeup and maybe to another stylist. But, I would not pay the master again.

Juut is a terrible salon and spa. Their staff is crabby and thinks they are all great. I agree with the other reviews about the prices/services/etc. Take a hint and go to the other 500 salons in the area that are more qualified and lower priced.

I am so upset that I went to Juut. It was recommended that I DO NOT go there, but I had heard from others that it was ok. It was noisey and uninviting. The staff seemed put-off by my being there and was not at all accomodating. My stylist didn't give me the massage like others were getting and then breezed through my haircut and shampoo in about 25 minutes. I will never go back and I will tell anyone who mentions Juut to stay away!

Never go to Juut! It was a major disappointment. My hair was horrid. You're better off with a $15 cut!

Lindsey is by far the best hairstylist I have ever seen. I have VERY thick and curly hair and she is just a whiz with those tools, I take up two of her sessions and she never charges me more and NEVER complains. She just happens to do all of my girlfriend's hair and they have all types from thick to baby fine thin hair and they all seems to love her just as much. She is pleasent to be around and the location just happens to be fantastic. Some people may find this pace a tiny pretentious, but Lindsey makes you feel right at home!

I think it is quite interesting that the positive reviews about Juut on this website specifically mention the stylist's name. Hmmmm....gee...I wonder if these "reviews" are written by the stylists themselves. My experience at Juut was not positive. I went there 3 times for haircuts and highlights, and I do not think that this overly overly priced salon is worth the money. I have lived in San Francisco and I know what a top-notch stylist is like -- they're not like the ones at Juut. I cannot believe that I paid over SEVENTY dollars just for a haircut at Juut and my hair looks so embarrassingly uneven in the back. In addition, the sylist did not take the time to really understand what I wanted. This salon is absolutely not worth the money.

Not only is the service half a$$, but even when you call for an appointment they act rude, and in a hurry. There are so many other great salons in the same area, why give you money to a place that doesnt deserve it!

After visiting Juut over a week ago, I had to spend half an hour in front of the mirror trying to 'correct' my $50+tip haircut. I haven't been to *Great Clips* in years and my last visit to Juut reminded me of how one feels after getting a haircut at that place. This time the feeling was worse because the price tag was more than 3 times higher! I just don't think the staff takes time to work with an individual client trying to understand what you really want or give you a good advice on what haircut/haircolor will work best for you. Forget that, but giving uneven haircuts? How could that happen? I ended up going to a different salon to correct my haircut. I will NEVER go back to Juut.

I've been to the same barber since i was 10 years old, never truly happy with my cuts...i was referred to Haley almost 2 years ago now, and there will be no going back. She took time to listen to what i wanted, gave me some well needed tips, and was one of the sweetest women i've ever talked to. I would highly recommend her, she is the best!

I have gone to Juut for over 10 years. After consistent downhill customer service, increasing prices, and unprofessionalism in the staff, I have finally called it quits. I was yelled at on my wedding day by the person who was doing my updo because I had washed my hair that morning (excuse me, but who gets married with dirty hair?). But the topper was the pedicure I had in Edina where the woman tore into my toenails giving me a very painful experience. She cut my toe and said I would have to put neosporin on it for a few days - with no apology. All that and $60 to boot!

I wouldn't go back if the services were free. I only regret that I waited so long to make a change.

I used to do the Great Clips thing but then a friend sent me to Lindsey G. at Juut. Lindsey gave me a great cut and showed me how to style my curls, which now form nice ringlets instead of a frizzy mop. Lindsey also does an amazing job with short hair and another friend got a really great style for her wedding. I also took my mom to Juut when she came to town and the stylists there helped me put an end to her soccer mom style. Although I'm sure if you wanted a soccer mom cut, they'd be happy to oblige - they are very good listeners to boot.

I took my teen aged son here. We were both disappointed. No attention to detail with a high price tag in a trendy location. I could have done a better job giving him a hair cut myself (and I'm not a trained stylist).

I have gone to this location on 3 different occassions to get my eyebrows waxed. Each time I have given the same instructions and each time I have ended up with different results from the same aesthetician. Beyond my eyebrows being uneven, there was no attention to detail. They have not proven themselves at all, and now in light of the fact that they are now raising their prices, I will definitely never be back.

I set up an appointment ahead of time, oh yes they could fit me in for a color and highlight with a cut to follow. I ended up with no color, a partial foil which since we went with the juut recommended browns v my usual blondes left me looking like my last foil job has grown out and I need another soon. My colorist wouldn't know though since I never saw him again after my hair was rinsed. The haircut was rushed and it did not include a scalp massage that all the other patrons around me were getting. I was not impressed and actually disappointed in their overbooking. Unfortunately, I won't recommend this particular shop to my friends.

I just moved here from Los Angeles, and really needed a haircut. I have read the mixed reviews about Juut, but love Aveda and decided to give it a shot. I thought the staff was helpful (no attitudes...then again, I am from LA). There is a new stylist there named Matt who just finished school at Vidal Sassoon. Honestly I thought he did a great job. Listened to what I said, gave a good scalp massage, took his time, and no attitude, and the cut looks great. Also ONLY 35 bucks- Not too bad eh?

Recently i went to Juut after my regular stylist and colorists, Minjo and Emily left, hopeing to find them or a new team. The service was aweful. The haircut was rushed the color was NOT what I wanted. Before and during the service I tried to find out where they were but no luck. After hunting down the white pages and parents, I have found them both! It's so sad that no one at Juut would tell me that truth to where these girls went. My business will not head back to Juut.

I have been to Juut once before for highlights and been disappointed. The highlights were faded in some parts. Second time i asked for the top colourist. I showed her pictures and tried to explain what i wanted but she didn't seem to want to listen to me. She ended up doing what she wanted and I ended up with worse highlights then what i had done myself with drugstore products, and the colour wasn't even close to the pictures i showed her. Plus i ended up looking the same as the first time i went - they seem to have one look (for blondes) that they do regardless of what you ask for. The only positive thing is that the Aveda products are gentle on the hair and the salon is nice and clean.

I went to Juut because of all the hype, and that's what I found - hype. As soon as I showed up, I was hit with how much of a SCENE the place is (very, Uptown...blah). And when it came to the cut, my stylist seemed a little rushed and ended up giving me a very basic layered cut. And here's where I feel torn. One the one hand, I could tell he was skilled and could have given me a better cut if he had just taken the time to listen to me. On the other hand, he didn't seem that interested in listening to me, and seemed more interested in getting the next customer in his chair. If you're quite taken by the Uptown scene and the brand name Aveda, Juut might work. If you're more discriminating, you should keep looking.

When I first moved to the Twin Cities, I thought Juut in Uptown was the place to go. On my first visit, I had a cut and highlights. I thought my highlights were ok at first, but upon returning home I realized how much of my roots were still showing! And the cut was a generic, cookie-cutter trim that they must give when they don't feel like taking the time to understand what the customer wants. I tried to get the results I desired TWO more times! Each time I told the colorist and the stylist what I wanted different this time and each time I came out looking the same. They even sent me out in the cold December weather with a wet head! The staff simply cannot be bothered to pay attention to detail, which is unacceptable to the hefty price!

I've been to Juut SalonSpa a few times and I've been disappointed everytime. I've asked for a new look, something fresh for the season. I come out looking pretty much the same as when I walked in. I do have to say that the massages are GREAT!

JUUT UPTOWN IS THE BEST SALON IN THE CITIES!!! Getting my haircut at Juut is always the highlight of my month. The stylists and color techs are knowledgeable and very friendly. I feel totally relaxed when I'm there as I know I am in the hands of true professionals. The shampoo beds are a must-long, relaxing massages that get your hair and scalp ready for the professional treatment it is about to receive. MinJo and Emily are easily the most talented, friendly stylist/color tech combo in the state-truly a class act!!

Sure Juut is a little more expensive than say, Great Clips, but it's well worth it. The people here are crazy friendly, just real nice. Guys don't go here! I am a guy and I am having too much fun being one of the only guys in that place with all those beautiful women. If you go here ask for Beth, the most gorgeous girl is the world, oh and she ain't half bad with the scissors either.

Everyone I have come in contact with at Juut Uptown has been friendly and helpful. The massages by Don and Mike are some of the best I've had including ones in NYC and Tahoe. Facials by Alysha are heavenly. The use of all natural Aveda products adds to the sensory journey. They have a hair salon but I haven't use those services. Highest recommendations!

Tthe stylists at Juut are generally very good. I've always felt that I get a quality cut, however, I find that I'm typically a bit disappointed in their ability to spend time with me understanding what I want and working with me to get that affect. I feel like they want to rush the analysis time a bit to get onto the cut and onto the next customer. It's a pity really because of all their great training almost seems to make them feel they know better than you what you want and they could make you so much happier if they'd spend a bit more time working together with you on the cut and style you really want.

I decided to try a different spa so I went to the Wayzata location. Everything from the start to the finish was not good. I wasn't greeted, my service started late, so I received less service, and I did not get the entire description of the service. Even the check out was terrible - I felt like a number. I will be hard pressed to go back.

I go to Juut everytime I need anything done to pamper myself. If I'm just getting a cut or color, I usually try the training salon in Roseville. They do a great job, and it's cheaper!

This is my ideal of what a spa should be... staff is friendly, peaceful, relaxing, accomodating... I would definitely go back. It's a nice little area. The massage was good, but not enough pressure. I would choose someone else next time. The cucumber water was so refreshing I think I'll make it myself next summer. The footsoak was a great start.

i went to juut for an "up-do" and was in a great hurry to make it to a wedding. the normal updo is supposed to take 1 1/2 hours, but the stylist did it in 50 minutes. she did a good job, but ended up charging me $75!!! the staff is very professional and provide good service, but don't expect great value.

I always am picky when it comes to choose a new hairstylist.I moved from California to Minneapolis and was looking for a new salon.I did go to the Aveda institute but they didn't do much for me.So because i have very long hair and wanted a new haircolor i hear Juut Salon was pretty good so i went there today and i was suprised. The Staff was very nice and friendly,my Hairstylist Mara was really nice, she understood what i wanted and she did an amazing job.I went from light brown to a dark raven black with many golden highlights.I would recommend it.I went to the one on Nicollet mall. And i only paid $100 for everything.

Go to the cheaper stylist... I tried a $50 stylist, and got more satisfaction from the $35 stylist. But either way.. they do an excellent job. However the last time I went, I was jipped out of my head massage.

I had my hair foiled at the Juut Salonspa in Uptown and was extremely pleased. Emily was my colorist, and she took the time to listen to what I wanted and was honest about what would work and what wouldn't. I think it is worth every penny and all the employees were friendly and most helpful.
