First time customers, my friend and I decided to check out the new Santorini restaurant in Eden Prairie. We arrived there around 10p on Thursday evening and to our surprise there was live entertainment. We sat at the bar and had great service from the bartender. I was not familiar with their wines and the bartender let me sample a few until I found the perfect one. We ended up buying the bottle plus some. The evening specials were a steal but more so very delicious. The Mediterranean Quesadillas were to die for. A gentleman sitting beside us was overwhelmed with his $2 sliders that also came with fries. We not only enjoyed our wine, appetizers and the surroundings but we also found ourselves out on the dance floor which we had not done in a long while. We give this restaurant 5 stars for a GREAT night out!!! We can't wait to bring our families here for dinner or a Sunday Brunch.

Pros: Close to home, unique offerings and values, great music

Cons: Higher end prices for wine

Santorini reopened mid-November after a two week hiatus to move and fine-tune it's new location at 13000 Technology Drive, Eden Prairie (SW corner of Hwy 5 & Prairie Center Drive). The location has been home to three or four different restaurants in the past few years including Pickled Parrot and Canyon Grill. Nearly the entire staff made the move. The menu is familiar with some interesting additions (a wood fire oven adds several grilled items as well as wood oven pizza's). The Mediterranean standards are still there. Our party of four shared Flamed Saganaki and Calamari a la Romana for appetizers and a family sized Horiatiki salad (tomato, cucumber, feta cheese and olives in an olive oil dressing). Two ordered the Gyro dinner, one had seared Ahi Tuna, I had the Lamb Shank. All were magnificent although the Ahi was a little overdone. The wine list has been updated somewhat and the selection is more than adequate with some notable changes i.e. fewer Greek wines, more Sonoma and Alexander Valley. Parking is adequate and valet is available at night. There are several small to large rooms which could be utilized for private parties. In the Summer, the large outside deck looks as though it has it?s own bar and a great view of the lake across the street. At night, just look for all the blue and white lighted trees and signs.

Cons: Can't think of any.

Now with Santos moving to a new building in Eden Prairie we will miss them. As a businessman that
visits Santorini every other month I am happy for the move.. I normally stay in EP and drive to SLP for dinner. I talked to one of my favorite waitress Monday night when I was there and even she was excited for the move. I think she was happy to have a building that didn't need a lot of updating. She said it was like starting a new job but knowing what to expect.. She told me that the kitchen staff is all coming with so I know that my South American steak will be as wonderful as is always is. After 9 years of traveling to Minneapolis I will still go to Santorini's to see all of my friends that I have made ( I hope they will be there) and I am very glad that the managment is keeping the wonderful staff that has been with the family for so many years Good luck on the move November 2.. I will see you in January

Just read a terrible review of Santorini and must say I have been to this restaurant many times and have always had great service/food. We usually go for their over the top brunch. Tonight was perfect start to finish. I strayed from the usual greek fanfare and ordered the south american steak. I was a little worried about ordering steak at a greek place. I LOVED it. It was cooked perfectly and came with a side sauce that I am going to hopefully try to reproduce at home. Our waitress was also very helpful while we were trying to decide what to order. Very nice night out. Thanks Santorini!!

I was excited I got to bring all my boys out to lunch. Then we sat down and this mean angry "because she is still working at 60 year old" devil lady introduced herself by throwing the menus at us. After about 20 minutes she came back for our orders. I ordered the greek salad without peppers and she snarled at me. Yes fangs in all, she snarled. My husband ordered a gyro and my dad ordered the salmon salad. My one and a half year old was with us and no one told us they had a kids menu or even gave us one. No big deal he ate my husband oven cooked french fries. Another twenty minutes passed and our food had arrived, it wasn't bad but wasn't good. I guess average but with a hefty 55 tab. At this time I asked for warm milk for my son, the demon woman again snarled WE DON'T NORMALLY HAVE MILK!! 1o minutes later she returned with a warm cup of milk, I swear she acted liked I was asking for her first born child, but I think she ate her first born child. The waitress if you would call her that never ask how are food was or anything. The whole time she acted like we were a inconvenience to her and her devil worshiping.

Cons: service was terrible, rude, and unfriendly

Last Wednesday night, 3/26/2008, out for dinner with friends, we all had the most fantastic time at Santorinis! Wonderful server, great drinks and by far the best Sea Scallops with a cream lobster sauce. Our meals were definately made by a culinary chef. The atmosphere in the bar/lounge was wonderful too.

The quality of the food is inconsistent. Service is however consistently horrific. The wait staff is unenthusiastic at best and the management is down right rude and condescending. Save your hard earned money for another establishment who still believe they should work for your dining dollars.

I've been to Santorini a few times now, and have to say I'm largely unimpressed. The food is 'okay' - I'd honestly prefer Dino's Gyros to this place. The last time I visited for lunch, a 60-70 year old woman was our server (seriously), and she wasn't personable at all. In fact, she made us to feel like a bit of an inconvenience to her. I asked for a dessert menu after lunch, and instead, this AARP-er had to heft a giant tray filled with a dozen disgusting-looking faux representations of their dessert selection. I decided to try the baklava, and by the texture, it tasted as though it had been made the day prior. Also, It was well after Christmas, but they appeared to still have Christmas-like decorations about the dining area, and cobwebs to boot!

This is hands down my favorite restaurant! I have never had bad food here. The pasta bar is the best in town. It's not only great tasting, but it's HUGE! We always look forward to the leftovers the next day.
A few people mention bad management or wait staff... It's true we have had a couple of bad waiters over the years, but we only see them once. The waiters/waitresses that have been there for a long time are wonderful! We always get seated right away and our drinks always are delivered quickly. I would reccommend always making reservations since they do fill up very quickly!

We attended Santorini last weekend. They were very busy but the waitstaff still greeted us with a smile! We had a cocktail and were promptly seated in the dining room. We started with the flaming cheese appetizer, Greek salad, and Avegolemono soup. Very, very good and filling. We ordered the Peasant Platter for our main course and were given so much food that we couldn't possibly eat it all. The food was delicious and I can't wait to go back! I highly recommend this restaurant! Splendid!!!

I love Greek food and have been to many Greek restaurants in Twin Cities, but Santorini was definitely a disappointment. First of all, me and my partner were seated right next to the place where all waiters/cleaners were disposing of dirty dishes and leftovers (nothing better than loud clinging and scraping of plates to perk up your appetite). I guess the first glance at the menu should have alarmed me to the impending disaster: the special of the night was Filet Minon with mashed potatoes and Italian Salad. Sounds very greek to me, no? We were brought a basket of bread - white bread, instead of tarditional pita bread. We ordered some wine (please note, that there are 2 red and 2 white Greek wines on the menu of about 30 wines), and had to wait for about 20 minutes before getting it (it was 9.30 pm, and half of the tables were empty, which left me wondering to whihc store our waiter had to run to get the wine). It was not particularly delicious to discover several pieces of ice in my glass of red wine.
Next we ordered appetizers and main dishes. Situation on the food menu was very similar to that on the wine menu - there were a couple of staple Greek dishes, but most of them were a mix of America (burgers) and Italian food (according to our waiter, pasta bar is the most frequently ordered dish in the restaurant - very Greek, no?). I can't complain much about food, although my shrimp with tomato and feta cheese were stone cold and drenched in olive oil (not Greek, btw) and my partner's lamb was overcooked. Next came dessert: we were brought in a plate with desserts whihc had an amazing variety of New York cheesecakes, chocolate cake, apple cobbler and baklava as the only Greek dessert (which ended up being stone cold when we ordered it). even ouzo shot in the end couldn't save it..
Summary: there is nothing Greek about this restaurant, the most Americanized ethnic restaurant I have been to (and freaking expensive). Perkins with a Greek twist and $100 bill!!!

While celebrating a big milesone we were greeted by the bartender and were given a free Saginaki! this was a great touch. The bartender was able to attend to our dining needs even though he had many coustomers to serve. The Food was great, it was a polished performance of culinary skill and should not be overlooked when you dine out! I liked this place better than all others in the area.
I had the Steak degreco (I'm sure I misspelled that!) it was fantastic the prices are high but worth it.

Last evening my wife and I had dinner at Santorini's, I had to see for myself just how bad the service had recently been, we have been dining here for years and before this we were huge fans of Nicklow's. But never once has the sevice or management been nothing but outstanding, as was the case last night. To top off the great service the food was wonderful. The Lamb chops were on special and they along with the entire plate was very good. Drinks were refilled, our waitress striked up fun conversation, the food had such great flavor that no additional salt, pepper, seasonings or sauces were required. The booths are a little tight but O-Well. I think maybe some people cannot be pleased or just have really bad luck. We will continue to frequent this restaurant and would recommend it to anyone. And don't forget to order the Saganaki for and appetizer - they do it perfect!

I've been to Santorini's a couple times and have never been impressed with the food. The service is poor, but does not compete with the awful management. I guess if you are related to the owner you don?t really have to try to manage this place at all. They think management walking around the bar with free shots is good service. I had my purse stolen while I was there one evening. I was in the bar, which was empty, next to the kitchen. When I told management what happened they just looked at me, then walked away!! I kept coming back and they wouldn?t talk to me. Finally they offered me a pencil to write down a phone number for a locksmith.

My wife and I frequent many restaurants in the Western half of MSP. We return to Santorini's from time to time, despite the very valid complaints that service is from average to poor depending on... well... luck, I guess. We have had experiences where the service was acceptable, the seating was decent and that was sufficient given the food. We have had times when we really thought the waitperson should seriously consider a different profession.

The dinner menu is relatively good Greek faire. The prices are a bit high for MSP, but out-of-towners from the big cities will find them very reasonable. The Sunday brunch is spectacular food, though again, a bit pricey for the market. The restaurant simply needs to be remodeled. There are some nice booths, but the rest of the restaurant looks old and not consistent with the prices.

If you go to places like Red Lobster for non-special events and you feel like Greek, Santorini's is a good choice. The brunch is what we recommend. However, if its an anniversary or a first date, try Ichiban or Manny's or Ruth's Criss. Santorini's is just not going to give you that special memory.

I would definitely NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone! The management here is horrible! I called a week in advance before mother's day to reserve a table and the woman I spoke to said they were booked and to call that morning to see if their patio would be open and they could seat us then and she took my name down. That morning of Mother's day i called and spoke to the extremely rude manager, he cut me off when i started to ask if the patio would be open and put me on hold and when he FINALLY came back on i asked him and he said they didn't know yet and didn't offer to get my name or anything and was very short with me. The visit before , the service was horrible and noone there is overally friendly. They need to step up their customer service big time...not impressed!!

My coworkers and I stopped in for lunch yesterday. To my surprise, the place was fairly busy. We were seated right away and decided to order from the pasta bar. (Its like ordering mongolian bbq but greek style) There were varieties of meats, seafoods, veggies, pastas and sauces to choose from. I had a seafood and artichoke pasta blend with white sauce. (you also get salad and bread) The portions were huge (could have been shared w/another person) and the prices were VERY affordable! All in all, the pasta was good enough for me to go back and order take out. The restaraunt wasn't exactly my style... it was old fashioned, fixures seemed outdated and the bar/dance looked like it was homemade, literally.

We have visited Santorini?s several times in the past. We?ve had some rough experiences at this restaurant, but we wanted to give it another try. We will NEVER go back. The food was cold and the service was mediocre. More importantly the management was horrible. We had an issue with a gift card that was expired and the owner would not honor it. It had been expired only be a few weeks. We were accused of not leaving a tip (which we did). He told us that he didn?t need our business. I?ve lived in NYC, LA, and Chicago. I travel each week for business and frequent restaurants all over the world. I?ve never had an experience like this. I could NEVER recommend this restaurant to anyone. Minneapolis has too many GREAT restaurants. In my opinion don?t bother with this one.

We met friends for dinner last Saturday night and had a drink in the bar first. At 7:00 the bar was packed and we got the last table. Drinks were good and the service was good. We made it to the restaurant and had great service there too. All the food was good and the wine was abundant! After dinner we went back to the bar to see the live band, but there was no where to sit. We left and went to another local bar that was awful. Next time we'll try to get to the bar early for a table. We will definately be back and would recommend this place to anyone.

Food is wonderful. Service is excellent. Very fun for friends and family. But can also be a great first date spot.

Pros: Service, Food, Fun

Cons: Can be crowded at times!

I travel to Mpls every other month. The hotel recommend this restaurant as a great place to have dinner and watch people. Boy where they right. Dinner is always great. The Seafood special is awesome. and the South American steak . Service is always wonderful as over the years I know who to have wait on me. Shelley, Dana, Jen or Monica. They are a lot of fun. After go in the Bar. There is always something going on. Lots af regulars on weeknights, most are very friendly and include you in there evening thanks everyone! Watch out for Wednesday night, a very young crowd. It seems to be a hot spot on the weekends, can't wait to come back and see every one.

Came back to see all my friends at Santos and found out the rumors are true. They will be closing late this summer. They did tell me that Tony is planning on building a NEW Santorinis close by hint( down the road maybe.) The staff was not concerned as they will either stay with the Nicklows or find a new place. (Most of them will be a welcome to any good restaurant). Did notice that some of the managers and staff have left. Our server did not want to say anything about it. So I will be back. Food and service has always been wonderful. Can't wait to see a new place with all of the friendly faces.

Lamb is spectacular, drinks are good and they are always accommodating. Greek house salad is awesome and there is always plenty to eat. Can be very busy at times so I would call ahead for dinner.

My fiance and I had dinner at Santorini a few nights ago and we both thought it was awesome. My friends told me that the service is always good here, and we were not dissappointed. The food was very good and we went into the bar afterward and enjoyed a drink or two and listened to a live band. The service in the bar was great also. I highly recommend Santorini, and we will be back next weekend with my future in-laws.

I went to Santorini last Sunday to have brunch. It was amazing! They had a large variety of food from pastas, fruit, eggs benedict, gyros and even an omelet station. They even offer a variety of vegetarian dishes. The price may seem a little much but it is definitely worth it!

In my profession, I travel a lot. This past week I came to visit the Twin Cities area and heard great things about Santorini from a friend of mine so I decided to give it a shot. Wow!! I was very impressed. In NY, where I am from, we are known for our lamb chops. The ones I devoured at Santorini were by far the best lamb chops I have ever had in my life. I just want to say that I will definately be stopping to eat at Santorini again when I come back to visit the Twin Cities. I couldn't have been more pleased with their food and service. It was amazing!

My wife and I celebrated our one year anniversary dinner at Santorini and it was absolutely perfect! When we made our reservations we let them know it was our anniversary and they definitely took that into account. They sat us in the back room in a cozy booth perfect for two. The service was great and the food was even better. At the end of our meal the server even surprised us with a desert topped with a sparkler. I highly recommend this restaurant to others!

Last week me and a bunch of my girlfriends went out to dinner to celebrate my friends 31st birthday. There was 9 of us and we had a great table towards the back. We had so much fun! The server was awesome and he kept us laughing. The food was delicious. We will definitely come back to celebrate more birthdays!

Absolutely the worst dining experience I have ever had in the Twin Cities. We were constantly ignored by our server and failed to receive some of our order. When we asked to speak to a manager, we were told that she was on the phone. Twenty minutes later, the hostess came to our table and blamed our bad service on 'high maintenance' tables. If I'd known that I had to whine, complain, and throw a fit to receive good service, I never would have walked into this restaurant. Avoid this location at all costs!

The food was SO awesome! The gyros are the best in town! Whenever I go to Santorini it is ALWAYS busy and we always get the best service! Recommended servers: JoJo, Jen, Dana and Lois. They also have really good lamb chops and brunch. The prices may seem expensive but you get PLENTY of food! It has a wonderful atmosphere. I recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone!

Brought in a group of 10 people. Orders all were delivered at different times. One order forgotten completely. When I asked that the gratuity not be automatically added, waitress left in a huff, came back and threw the bill in the middle of the table.

Brunch buffet was awesome!! Great selection of greek dishes and others. EXCELLENT vegetarian selection. Loved the addition of fruit and veggie platters. Service was pretty good cosidering the restaurant was PACKED- the waiter kept our drinks full and constantly cleared plates. There are quite a few bad reviews of this restaurant but I would say the fact that it is packed weekly is a sign that others feel differently. Give it a try!

We went last friday for a special dinner for our anniversary. We made reservations on Open Table.com and asked for a romantic seating as it was a special occasion. We were wedged into a corner and had to move the table to get out because people were seated so close to us.
The staff treated us like we were at perkins, actually I've had better service at Perkins and I didn't pay 75.00 for two at Perkins.
The steak was excellent but the rest of the food was average, and the saganaki was terrible.
We won't be returning, in fact we had a group of 13 scheduled to go there later in March and I cancelled it.

I would highly recommend this restaurant. We were seated promptly and were greeted by the server shortly after. The menu was large and filled with many choices. I had a very hard time choosing one entree!!! The pace of the meal was great, our server was attentive, and the food was fabulous! The ambience could use a slight modification however. The tables were way too close together, but the decor was visually stimulating. The prices however seemed to be a little high, although the portions did make up for it. My entree was huge!! Overall I had a great time and would recommend to anyone wanting to spend a little more for good food.

The service was lamentable. We were not greeted. The table service was poor. The waiter dismissed my wine choice. I've been to Greece and it's not just about food it's about hospitality.

This is a fun, affordable getaway to the Greek Islands! The food is always great, I have never had a bad meal here. Sometimes "iffy" on the service, but for the most part very accomodating. The owner is often on the premisis and has a smiling, welcoming and very grateful presence. It is clear he loves his business and the people who come to his resaurant. A nice place just for an appetizer, or meal-the appetizers on this menu are not your usual "Buffalo wings", onion rings and other tired items. They are unique and very much worth trying. The calamari is different and delicious, and the Saganaki & Spanakopita are in themselves worth the trip. Try a side of the "Greek style" spaghetti with burnt butter and mizithra cheese....it is to die for! Santorini's-please don't ever go away!

Based on several reviews, I visited Santorini. It's a bit hard to find for someone from out of town. The lighting was a bit dim, and the music was sterotypical Greek but not annoying. Service was excellent, and parts of the meal were OK, but just that - OK. Loved the Skordalia and should have only eaten that. HATED the gyros platter; have had much better in Germany, of all places. The wine (Naoussa) was excellent, however. It was not a bad meal, just a so-so one.

Quite simply, Santorini gives the Twin Cities their finest Sunday brunch for miles around. With their flair for presentation, to say nothing of the bountiful and tasty food selection, we have come to know this restaurant as the best value and best Sunday eating experience. Both Greek and non-Greek specialties are available. And be sure to try a bottomless Mimosa or Bloody Mary if you dare!!

We dined at this restauruant while visiting the area, and found it VERY disappointing. We ordered saganaki as an appetizer, but because our ditzy waitress forgot to add it to our order, it ended up being served as dinner was wrapping up. Since it ended up tasting like an old grilled cheese, our waitress then offered it gratis, but still added it to the bill at the end of the evening. She also confided to us that she had never tried saganaki, which I find very sad for a waitress at a Greek restaurant. The one good thing I can say is that the pastichio was very good, but I cannot recommend this place in any way, shape or form.

The service is HORRENDOUS. I have been there three times, and each time the wait once we ordered was an hour. The food, while good, is not the best Greek in town, and is overpriced. Nice bar, that's about all I can say.

Order the Pasta Bar baby! Pick out all of your fresh favorites and watch it cooked in front of you. Hang out in the bar after - interesting crowd and different but fun atmosphere.
