Towed my car with valid tags while I was deployed overseas. Owner refused to release car even after proper documentation was provided. Complete pompous jerk on the phone.

S L Recovery is running nothing but a racket. My eighteen year old daughter's car was towed while she was spending the night with me at my apartment complex. It was towed because she had failed to put the renewal sticker on the license plate. The registration card along with the sticker was in the backseat of her car. We went to SL Recovery and explained the tag was not expired. We pulled out the registration and placed the sticker on the tag. S L Recovery would not let us pick up her vehicle without paying $120.00. We had the current registration card and the current sticker THE TAG WAS NOT EXPIRED!!!! We explained that she just started college and was going to be late for her class and we did not have $120.00. My daughter explained to the owner that she works two jobs, is going to school and did not realize she had to put the sticker on the tag that she had made a mistake. She started crying while talking to the owner, because she was upset and he told her "HE DOESN'T TALK TO CRYERS". All of her books for college were in the car. We asked to get her books out of the car and we were told no. After calling the police then we were told we could get the books out of the car. We had to pay S L Recovery $120.00 (money my daughter had made in tips and was going to use for gas money to get back and forth to school) and she missed her college math class on the second day of class. The owner of S L Recovery had no compassion for the situation or towards me or my daughter. THE TAG WAS NOT EXPIRED!!!!!! An exception could have been made due to the fact THE TAG WAS NOT EXPIRED!! The owner chose to take a young girls hard earned money who was trying to get to school to get an education. She paid the $28.00 herself for the renewal sticker. She just failed to put in on THE TAG THAT WAS NOT EXPIRED. Clearly this company only cares about the almighty dollar.......what a racket!!! They should have to verify with the DMV if someone's tag is expired or not. To the owner: Great judgement call.....what comes around goes around!!!!....karma is a.......!!!!!
