I get excited just thinking about going to The Deck. The food is 'the' most fresh in Charlotte.... def NOT bar food !! My fav is the Mahi-Mahi Taco but also try new items on the menu. You won't find me passing up their fries either !!

I have never had anything that I didn't like. I appreciate the thought & effort that goes into providing their fans unexpected flavors that tantilize our tastebuds.

Their mixed drinks can not be beat. Did you know that they make their own mixers? Not many food & alcohol establishments can tout this.

The staff at The Deck, especially Tera, Jen, Brice & John, are always pleasant. I love that they always extend themselves in knowing more about you not just as a customer, but as a person. The conversation is always genuine... something you don't find often.

Kudos for another pleasant dining experience !!

If you are looking for superb service and outstanding food, the deck is the place to go. We sat at the bar and had the best service. As our starter, Jennifer recommended margaritas and guacamole...delicious! Our bartender,Jennifer, made sure we had everytning we needed. She recommended the shrimp and grits, they were the best we have ever eaten. Food delicious, atmosphere fabulous and service second to none.

I love live music, great food and the beach. The Deck has all my favorite things, plus some cuties to look at. For a random Wed night, this is as close to that vacation feeling as I am going to get.

I was pretty impressed with the wine list, although their drinks looked really fun and different, I stuck with wine. They served it in a proper glass at the right temperature, which a lot of restaurants miss. Next time, I am trying one of their mojitos or cucumber cooler (Hendrick?s gin & tonic).

Ordered the guacamole & lobster roll, both really good and used FRESH ingredients, my biggest indicator of a restaurant.

Fun place for a girls night out, or a date - big enough that people won't hear every word of your conversation.

I have eaten at The Deck 3 times but have been there 4. The last time, no one, not a single person, came to our table to take our order or to welcome us to the place. The first 3 times, the food was great but the service was very laid back. It was almost like we were bothering our waitress while she watch tv and talked with her co-workers. But when we did get to eat, the food was really good, it was so good that we took our dinner club there. Everyone enjoyed themselves. It is just a shame that one bad event can ruin what was a fun place to eat. Honestly, doesn't the mangagement and wait staff know that SERVICE is just as IMPORTANT as good food? And it would not have been as bad an experience had it been crowded but there were only 3 tables, counting ours, and the other tables had paid their tab cause one got up to leave and I saw the waitress take the tab from the other table. There were more "workers" than customers at that moment. Even the manager walked by us but not one word was spoken to us. I just don't get the mentality of some people. If you are hired to wait on tables, then wait on tables. Well I guess if you don't care enough about your customers, you will lose them and then your business will follow.
Oh, when we left, we mentioned why we were leaving to the manager and he did not seem to care or offer an apology.

I wouldn't normally feel inclined to write a review, but I think more people need to know about the deck. They are underrated as far as seafood in charlotte goes. I stopped in last tuesday for lunch and discovered they have daily lunch specials for 5.99. I happened to be there for the fish taco day, and I can honestly say they were the best I have had in charlotte. The blackened mahi compared to what I've eaten by the shore. I also tried the seared tuna taco and was impressed.

I wasn't able to really enjoy their wide array of drinks because I had to work, but I went back with a couple of friends a few nights later. We sat on the rooftop patio and cooled off with a few cocktails and coronas. It was all reasonably priced and I look forward to returning.

Pros: rooftop deck, cheap drink and lunch specials

Cons: high-heat or foul weather keeps you off the rooftop

I took my first trip to The Deck last night. The weather was a little yucky, so my crazy sprint across the full lot was not so great. Once inside we were greeted by an older gentlemen, I later learned he was Jeff, the owner. He explained there would be a brief wait and they were pretty busy due to an article written in Epicurean Magazine and a groupon offer. Of course I knew about the groupon offer, it was what drew me there!
I took a seat at the bar and met Ian. He was really great! We had the margarita with the candied orange tequilla. YUM!!! He told me all about the cocktail menu and suggested that we try the crab dip. It was also really good!
We took a seat in the dining room, really cute with photos of people at the beach all over. It took a little while for our server to come, she was obviously busy. We tried the fried fish tacos and the tuna tacos. Both were served with some smokey tomato sauce that was delicious. We both agreed the flour tortillas were the best! While we were eating the owner came over and introduced himself and asked about our food. We told him it was really good but that it had taken a while to come. He explained the groupon thing and said they were a little busier than anticipated. It was worth it. I look forward to going back and trying some other things. I am glad there is another reputable fish taco place in town though:)

I brought 2 associates with me to The Deck last week and we had a great experience. I got the lobster roll as it was on special for $10.99 and hand cut french fries. IT WAS DELICIOUS!!
My associates got the Deckadence Burger and Fresh fruit and the meal was only $5.99!! The service was great and we were in and out in less than 30 minutes. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick, reasonable priced lunch. Cant wait to try out dinner as I hear they make a pretty mean Mojito!!

Pros: Fresh lunch items & Cheap Price

I had the tilapia stuffed with crabmeat. I think this was a special and isn't on the menu all the time. I'm am very high-maintenance when it comes to food and I really enjoyed my meal. Be careful though, if you order the crab dip as an app, it's so thick that you won't be hungry when your entree arrives.

Pros: Obviously...the roof top deck

Cons: It can get pretty hot up there

Finding a cool rooftop restaurant in Charlotte isn't easy, but The Deck has a great space up top for enjoying cold drinks and appetizers with friends. Weather permitting, sitting on the rooftop listening to great music is the right way to enjoy the summer. Since Charlotte is a few hours west of the ocean, The Deck has brought the look and feel of "the islands" to the Queen City. Though still relatively new and lacking some pictures on the walls, the color choices and menu options makes you feel like your somewhere else, somewhere tropical.

The food is FRESH! All seafood is delivered the day it is served, and there are specials regularly. The guacamole is amazing! It's got a little kick to it, with the refreshing taste of pineapple mixed in. And the crab! I had some of the best crab I have ever had there! To wash it all down, try a margarita... they are legit!

The bartenders are friendly and make great recommendations to those that are unsure of what to order. the wait staff is knowledgeable and also make excellent recommendations. The executive chef is very personable, and will come out from the kitchen on occasion to greet his guests and to check-up on service...That never happens!

Highly recommended!

I went to The Deck for the first time recently and the drinks impressed me enough to write a review. I had a Hibiscus Margarita and some kind of Spicy Peachy Margarita. Both were excellent. I'm not a huge margarita buff but i'm always game to try a new drink and these hit the spot.

I didn't each much. Split chips and salsa and the ceviche with my girlfriend. Both were good, the salsa was a bit to hot for me.

Overall, they have earned another visit from me.

The Deck is a really unique place to eat, for several reasons. The menu features a combination of beach fare that I have not seen anywhere but at the coast. The great selection of specialty drinks are made with fresh ingredients. I had the she crab soup, which was the best I have ever eaten. The fish tacos offer a choice of several types of fish. And real frozen custard. If you haven?t tried out The Deck, you have missed a really unique dining experience.

The Deck has become one of my new favorite spots to hit regularly. I've tried many items on the menu and love that with their new lunch specials I can visit even more frequently and stay on budget. Mahi tacos and more!

The cocktail menu is not to be missed and make a trip for dinner or later worth it even beyond the tasty food and light, airy atmosphere.

There is NO crab cake in Charlotte that comes close to this one. Seems to be ALL crab. The fish tacos come just as you like them, fries are awesome, cole slaw is fresh, fresh and not all soupy like so many places. The deck up top needs no adjectives...it's the best outside dining in Charlotte. This is my all time new favorite place. Oh yeah, and the wait staff is cute and friendly!

The Tuna Burrito here rocks! And the house made guacamole is fresh as can be. I sampled their mojitos, margaritas, and cucumber cooler and all were super fresh. When i think of The Deck, I think of the cool breeze on top of their Rooftop seating area and Fresh Food and Drink. Well Done!

I have been to The Deck before and everything has been good. A friend recommended that I try their bloody mary, so last sunday (yes I was hung over) me and some friends stopped by to try one. It was indeed the best Bloody Mary I have had. It was also half priced as I guess their cocktail menu is all half priced on Sundays.

If you need a bloody mary fix, this is the place. Go on sundays if you can.

Well, let's try this again, says a restaurant owner who moves into a space which has failed more times than a Char-Meck middle school student taking the EOG's. Fortunately, from my first visit to the newly transformed "The Deck", I think it will last a little longer than the mind puzzling Rock n' Lobster which occupied the space previously. I'm not quite sure why every restaurant from City Tavern to The Place After (so quick I don't remember) to Rock n' Lobster have all failed, other than the fact that there was nothing interesting to pull in a clientele. The location is good, the parking is sufficient and it has a rooftop area which is the only thing like it in the area.

The food is decent as expected. I had the fish tacos with fries. You get two fish tacos, which I ordered the Blackened Mahi Mahi. The flavor was a nice balance between the lightness of the Mahi and the coleslaw mixture it's accompanied by. It came with some sort of sour cream mixture which had no taste and I think it's only purpose was to add calories to the dish. The french fries are good, handcut.

The colleague I had lunch with ordered "The Great Burger" which should be re-named simply to "Burger". It looked no Greater than any other restaurant's burger and by taste, the colleague stated it was good but not great. But I guess if you go to a Coastal Carolina style restaurant, you don't get a burger.

It may sound like I'm being harsh on this place, but I'm hoping they find their identity and secure a solid crowd. I'm used to having a new restaurateur try out a random venture in that building every year and it's getting old.

The Deck really is a nice place and FINALLY it has a concept that is appealing to the population, rather than Lobsters with Guitars. With it's seaside menu and fresh approach to food in Dilworth it has a glimmer of hope to succeed in a venue where so many other mysteries have failed.
