.

Out of the Bergen County Shoprites that I've been to ( Lodi, Rochelle Park, Paramus, Englewood, Northvale, New Milford) this Hackensack location is among the better run ones. On it's busiest days, they are running full bore with a generous spread of registers open. It seems Shoprite in general by design with has so many more registers - the trick is what is open when the lines are likely to be longest.

Many Shoprites are built into older smaller buildings, like New Milford and Englewood (which is planning expansion) but the aisles are wider here, so there's more room to maneuver. Huge parking lot, and you can be on Route 80 in no time.

There is an extensive prepared food section with more seating for eating in than usual in local supermarkets.

Stop and Shop still has all competitors beat with that extremely convenient handheld self scanning device that speeds checkout ( if you aren't stuck behind a non-user) but the Teaneck spot gets pinned down under heavy customer fire. This Shoprite location is where you want to come on the eve of a holiday, or on a Saturday afternoon. The produce section is always stocked and busy, as is the fresh fish and the deli sections.
