I am the close family friend of the groom and since I am a singer, he had asked me to sing. I asked about rehearsing with the band since I was told they were going to play for me. I e-mailed the contact person and called her and never received a response. Then the first thing she tells me is that "oh, yes, I called you." And I never got the call. Then she tells me she does not respond to e-mails on a Saturday because she's working. OK, what company does not look at e-mail correspondence in 2010?
Long story short, I just wanted to know how they did the song: 2 verses, chorus, bridge, etc. She would not answer me and talked to me like I was a huge inconvenience, then, when I finally sang, THEY DID IT DIFFERENT THAN WHAT THEY SAID. There was a saxophone solo that she NEVER mentioned and a return to the bridge, that she never mentioned. I was thinking, "this is what I was trying to ask you."
In the end, it didn't matter because I'm a professionl so I could handle it, but the fact that they could not handle communicating to the groom's close friend, almost relative when I was reaching out was really unprofessional and incredibly rude. The rudeness was not just the contact, either. The pianist was SO belittling. I didn't feel the need to explain my masters of music degree to these people, but it just showed the culture of this band. I would not want to work with them, or hire them, EVER! I have sang at MANY weddings and was NEVER spoken to like that. Also, there was no balance between the singers and the band. They didn't even need to have singers.

Pros: Live music is always great

Cons: I was spoken to in such a rude manner. I was shocked!

.

I paid thousands of dollars for their band and DJ. The band did not practice my ceremony music and the DJ or the band did not play any of the songs that I requested. I spend the whole wedding trying to make them play the music that I requested. Also, there was no coordination between the band and the DJ, which was something they promised. I regret hiring them for my wedding.
