I live in soho and have always loved coming here . The drinks are innovative, creative, and delicious. I came by last weekend for an afternoon cocktail and was in the mood for tequila.. The bartender made the perfect drink for me... It was not only beautiful and exquisite in appearance but tasted incredible... Subsequently, my one drink turned into three... complimented perfectly by the blend of raconteurs, the strokes, delta spirit, and eagles of death metal..

We had heard that Elizabeth was doing a special party for Cinco de Mayo; we were pretty excited to try this restaurant so we made reservations quite far in advance through opentable. We even got the reminder from opentable about our upcoming reservation. When we showed up at the restaurant there was a huge line running down the block and when I asked about our reservation I was told that they were not honoring reservations during the CdM party. This was frustrating since my friends and I all came from different areas of the city to meet for dinner. It's fine if our reservation needed to be cancelled for a special celebration but the least the restaurant could have done was notify us in advance so we could have made plans elsewhere. What was also very disappointing was that the gentleman I spoke to at the front of the line told me he was the general manager at Elizabeth; I would have expected a manager to be much more accommodating, especially to people who were interested in trying the restaurant and made reservations in advance. I realize it's not worth making reservations here in the future.

Made an online reservation for 11:15. When we arrived we noticed that the menu stated that most everything on it couldn't be ordered until after noon. It was a little misleading to make a reservation and not be able to order right away. We made the best of it and ordered drinks, which were all very good. We sat in the garden and it was beautiful and not too busy so we didn't feel rushed at all. I had the baked eggs and the beet salad - both delicious. Others had french toast and waffles with fresh fruit and chantilly cream - also delicious. Service was a little slow but we weren't in a rush so we didn't mind.

I recently read some great press on this place and thought I'd try it out. You are immediately captured by the stunning and romantic design. Gorgeous bar area. You get a sense from the beginning that all of the staff are glad you are there. The menu had everything from comfort food like cheese sliders to studied cuisine. There was so much to choose from and we couldn't decide what we wanted. Our waiter was so nice and patient with us. We ended up ordering the tuna tartar, fish & chips, pumpkin ravioli and the milk crepe for dessert. It was all great, and the crepe cannot be described in writing. You must experience this. After dinner we decided to mix into the bar area. They have an interesting drink menu unlike what you typically see in NYC. The Sangria is fabulous too!!

While I'd rather keep this little gem to myself, I'd recommend it to anyone for any occassion:)

After discovering this place at an engagement party on a Saturday night in December, I ended up loving the espresso martinis and lively bar scene so much that I ended up staying until 4am and have found myself ending up there on a regular basis since. While initially lured by the dangerously delicious cocktails, I now return again and again because of cravings for certain items on the menu. Now it's crazy difficult to decide amongst the pumpkin ravioli, the winter risotto, the grilled cheese sliders (honestly, those are out of this world), the cheese grits, the brussel sprouts, the artichokes, mmmmm, getting hungry just thinking about them! Anyway, I've been recommending this place to everyone whether looking for a fun drink at a low key, but fun-crowd bar OR looking for a totally decadent, scrumptious meal with chic, but not overly done ambience, and have only heard thanks in return. Thought I'd make it easier and just blast this recommendation instead of the case-by-case basis thus far. Enjoy!

What a great find!! I recently went to Elizabeth for an engagement party in the garden and have been back almost weekly since. The food is excellent. The drink list is original, creative, and delicious. From the extremely chic decor to the yummy food, this place is a home run. They have great options if you want a satisfying entree for yourself or plenty of smaller options if you want to share with friends. I recently brought some friends in from out of town and they can't stop talking about it. We had the cheese sliders, mussels, winter risotto, fried chicken and cheese grits (seriously, you have to try this...) as well as some others. We made reservations on Open Table and though we were late, we were immediately seated. Our server was very knowledgable and QUICK! The General Manager floated around the room (like a GM should) to make sure everyone was happy. They also have a really cool (but not overly crowded) bar scene for before or after dinner.

Also, if you are looking for a fun brunch option, this is also a great location. They have a beautiful back garden and the best Bloody Mary you've ever had.

I'd recommend this Elizabeth to anyone. You won't be disappointed!

We went to this restaurant because of all the good reviews on here, but we were really disappointed. We had a reservation and when we arrived were told they were running behind. Fifteen minuted turned into 40 minutes turned into a 1 1/2 hour wait before being seated. Then our meal wasn't served until after midnight - and it was cold! Other guests were walking out left and right. Couples on dates were clearly irritated and the hostess just kept telling people they were having problems in the kitchen. The manager did try to make things right by passing out free champagne to all the waiting guests but when a 9pm dinner turns into dining at midnight -- I say take a pass on this place. There are plenty of other great restaurants in the area.

I just had my birthday party at Elizabeth last night and it was absolutely perfect! They gave us the entire back patio, which had it's own bar and coat check. The space was beautiful and comfortably held all of my guests (~80-100 people when it was most busy). The best part was that the manager, Sam, and the rest of the staff were SUPER nice! No bar minimums, no hassle at the door, no cover and they even allowed us to control the music. I highly recommend this venue for any event (and I don't say that often about most places!).

I have to say, I am a total burger snob and this place passes my test, big time. Huge grass fed beauty with sesame seed bun, special sauce, lettuce, and a crispy cheddar wheel that looks like it landed from space sticking out from the bun. Whoa.... Garlic fries were perfect too. Yum.

I had my 30th b-day party in the garden the other night and it was awesome. They put together a special menu for our group and it was served "family style"--so everyone tries different dishes. Anyway, people were raving the next day. Would definitely go back.

I had dinner at Elizabeth on Thursday, September 18. The place was full, but not overly crowded. I had eaten here before and had a perfectly pleasant meal, but the scene and food quality seem to have vanished. This evening, everything seemed to be off. The service was slow and we could never find our server when we wanted her. My choice of a main course was the Sea Bass, which was roughly 3 ounces (and also ~$30). I asked the server if there was a mistake, and she informed me that this was the actual size and that everyone complained about it. I then asked to see the manager. I asked him if this serving was a joke. He told me that it was not and offered to get me another piece. This piece arrived about 10 minutes after everyone at the table had finished their meals, and then the manager informed me as if he were doing me a great favor that the extra piece was on the house. Wow....so generous! Another person at my table had the Salmon, which looked to be about 10 ounces, so I'm not quite sure what was going on with the serving sizes. The remainder of the evening remained choppy at best. When we finally decided to leave, I discovered that they had "accidentally" over-charged me on the wine. After this really marginal experience, I've decided not to return this mediocre dining establishment. My prediction here is that this place just doesn't make it.

In the 7 years I've lived in Manhattan I can't remember a time I've been more dissappointed with a place. Lackluster food, terrible service, completely generic decor, an F-list crowd and absolutely nothing worth coming back for. As a downtown guy I was actually embarrased to have brought people there who are from uptown as they probably noticed no difference from a typical Upper East side snoozeville restaurant & can now make a decent case for meeting up in the nosebleeds next time out. I also couldn't believe how few attractive people were in the place given the location but I guess that could be a good thing if you're someone who has a hard time paying attention to your date, haha. There are at least 10 significantly better destinations within a 1 block radius.

I went with a group of 7 girls and it was perfect. The outdoor garden looks really nice. The indoors is trendy. There is a loungey area toward the back that seems like it would be perfect for drinks with a date. The food was good too.

We walked in on a Friday night with no expectation. We generally avoid "hip and trendy" places but the menu was concise and the decor interesting. The host was smiling, we were shown several tables before settling on one next to the door. We were so pleasantly suprised! Our waitress was knowledgeable and smiling, the busboy very pro. The food was prefect. We had the hamachi crudo, great flavors, and the steak tartare, which was unfortunately mixed, was pleasant enough. Then we moved on to the vegetable plate and the scallops. Both were very enjoyable. The dessert did it too, both the cheese plate and the excellent coconut custard with a novelty for me at least, black sesame ice cream. Loved it! We'll be back soon. And for single guys, it is a must! We never saw so many single girls!

What amazed me about this place, aside from the food, was how nice hosts were. Normally when you are in one of the 'it' restaurants on a sat night, you're treated w/ indifference at best. Your wait is viewed as it is at the doctor's office - even w/ a reservation, deal with it or leave, and by the way you should consider yourself lucky to even be there.

But they actually apologized more than once for our wait and gave us free drinks! Then another host (or possibly the manager) came over once we were seated and asked how it was going. We mentioned having waited a long time for our food after ordering, and he also apologized saying their computers had crashed. He then offered us bread while we waited. Our neighbors were so tired of waiting they actually left their table refusing to pay just as their food arrived.

But for me, decent treatment is a big plus. And the space was so pretty I didnt mind waiting a bit longer for my food. I was glad we waited bc the risotto was amazing. My friend enjoyed her steak as well. True the portions are on the small side, but that and the lack of seating would be my only complaints (there is a lounge area in the middle of the space with couches that should be replaced with dining tables/chairs, esp in a place this small). They need to decide if they are a lounge or a restaurant. Trying to be both just adds up to longer waits for dinner.

Located just 1/2 block from my apt, I was eagerly awaiting the opening of the new Elizabeth (former Rialto). The new decor is dramatically different than that of its predecessor and a huge plus. The black and white mosaics and dim lighting sets the mood for a romantic dinner for two. The outdoor patio, which is decked out with clear plastic chairs (slightly resembling spoons), flowers and tiny white lights is an unbeatable location for dinner with friends. The bartenders and table servers are friendly and attentive which is a huge plus for a trendy eatery in Soho. A slight drawback, and albeit an important one, is the food. I strongly believe that despite the hype built around a new establishment, the main attraction must be memorable. For starters we had the green gazpacho (too tart) and tender lettuce salad (could not taste anything but the plain lettuce). Our main dishes included the scallops (flavorful but lacking a complimentary side) and the sweet pea risotto (good but slightly over-powered by salty cheese crisps). The best part of the meal was definitely the rice crispy treats dessert which came with a chocolate, peanut butter and marshmallow dipping sauce. Overall, I would give the ambiance an 8.5 out of 10 and the food a 6.5 out of 10 and I will likely return for drinks served with a smile.

I went to this restaurant with very high expectations and was more than satisfied. I began my night at the bar and was amazed by how good the "double downs" were. Its a cucumber and tequila drink, and was so good. My friends and I then sat and ate in the outdoor garden. I got the chance to taste the gazpacho, salmon, garlic fries, ravioli, watermelon salad, beef tartare and scallops. Ive been to hundreds of restaurants in Manhattan, but have never tasted such interesting, delicious food in my life. The entire group that I was with was just as pleased. I will be back to eat at Elizabeth as many times as possible. The portions are perfect and the price was so much lower than I had anticipated. The place was filled with beautiful people but not in a pretentious way. The decor and ambiance were enthralling. My compliments to the chef. The food in this restaurant is so good that I felt compelled to write about it. Enough said.

Loved this place. Perfect ambience and decor - especially the outdoor garden which feels like a bit of a holiday. The cheeseburger, fries and Elizabeth cocktail were fantastic. My husband tried several of the other small plates - delicious as well.
We have had both dinner and brunch here and really enjoyed both...

This place is amazing- great food and fantastic drinks... I came here for a birthday/ladies night and we tried every cocktail on the list, AND enjoyed some very attractive people watching from our corner booth view :) The design of each room has a different feel so each time you go, you can have a completely different experience. It's absolutely worth checking out!!

I was there on Tuesday night with a couple of friends and we had drinks and food inside. It's such a great place, lots of interesting people an a lot of fun. We started with drinks at the bar, the bartender was quick (and friendly!) and the drinks were excellent! We sat in the card room and we enjoyed the food and the cool vibe of the place. I LOVE the fried cheese burger and last time I had the tuna. There is a little for eveyone, the burger will fill you up and the tuna is great to hold you over if you are not that hungry. It was a really nice night. My second time and i will be back soon.

There's no better place than Elizabeth's garden on a summer evenening, and with such a dangerously enticing list of cocktails I'll be back shortly. Atmosphere was fun, with a well dressed and up market crowd.

Perfect meal (had it Monday night): start with watermelon salad, then the ravioli, then the cheeseburger -- and follow up with the rice krispy treats for dessert! The portions are the right size for several tastings, and they are great for sharing with friends. The place has an amazing decor and overall vibe...a good mix of patrons, and a sexy-but-not so-hip-it-hurts attitude which is really refreshing in this day of "we are too-cool mixologists who cannot be bothered with you right now..." The patio space is beautiful -- perfect spot for weekend brunch, which I've tried and loved (the bacon is insanely good, trust me)! If you go once, you'll be back the next week for more. Big kudos to the owners/managers for doing something so well right out of the gate...you've impressed me, obviously.

I've been living in the city for quite a while and I heard about a new place opening on elizabeth street. One night I had noticed that it was open so me and some friends stopped in... All I can say is what an amazing place, from the lovely staff to the beautiful atmosphere I had an absolute great time! I would not only highly recommend it but without a doubt visit again!

Pros: everything

I use citysearch as my primary source for tasty recommendations. So I feel compelled to write my experience because it was not even close to what I read on the user reviews. The tables were crowed together with little space for even our drinks, which set the theme for the diner. Small is the on-going concept. Small drinks, small plates, and little flavor to boot. Nothing on the menu really tasted great only good to mostly boring. The four of us had to order almost everything on the very limited menu and decided that it was just okay. Than the bill arrived. I've spent less at a four star restaurant and had a way more satisfying diner. The staff was nice and the decor refreshing but I'll take a great meal over a card room any day.

Pros: Interesting Atmosphere

Cons: Over priced average food

Bartender was pouring some seriously good cocktails - try the cucumber tequila one - much more heft than your standard fruity summer cocktail. Decor has some interesting edgy touches (Milan Kundera in the bathroom? A book, not the actual guy) and fish n' chips are a menu standout. Back garden should be slammed in the summer, especially because there's a separate bar there.

Super s*xy NoLita spot. Great creative cocktails, hip crowd and great service. Went back for dinner and brunch- food was delicious, innovative without being fussy. One not to miss!

excellent decor and ambiance, great bar tender with an appreciation for fin liquor. if you want to grab a couple of drinks with friends/ coworkers - go here. If you want a gourmet meal...maybe not the spot for you

atmosphere was great, as was the service. Not too crowded when I went, and the food was not bad. But for such small portions it's not worth it's price. The 2 of us spent 80 dollars on 2 rounds of drinks and 2 tiny appetizers. But the space is something to marvel and great music playing too.

I thought the food was great and so was the space, but the service needs some work. The cocktails are really good too. We sat in the garden which was beautiful.

One of the worse meals I have had in NYC-- overpriced, tasteless, super small portions. Very disappointing. The space is nice though, so would recommend for drinks only. Skip the food!!!
