ZERO STAR!! This location is HORRIBLE!! Who would want to do business with U-Haul if this is the quality of service you get as a paying customer!!

Here are the numerous issues:
1) The truck they provided me was not well-maintained (no seat belt for front passenger) and ready for the junk yard (Check Engine light went off 10 blocks after I picked up the truck). I asked for a different truck when I saw the quality of the truck prior to driving out and was told that that's the only one I can get for local move. Seriously??? There are other trucks sitting there but no, they couldn't give me those. Since I had to do my moving that day and I couldn't seem to get anywhere with the people at the counter, I decided that a ragged-looking truck is better than no truck so I drove off with it. When the Check Engine light went off before I even gotten back to my place to start the move, I called the 1-800 number and was told to call the regional manager to have this issue taken care off. The regional office was no help (I asked whoever that picked up the phone that I want to talk to the regional manager and she refused to do so and cut me off abruptly and transferred me to roadside assistance b/c according to her, the check engine light is not the regional manager office's issue since I already left the place with it). The roadside assistance guy was actually a lot nicer and sympathetic to my problem than all the other employees I encountered.

2) I reserved 2 furniture dollies and did not get them (was told they didn't have any) -- this caused my move to be very painful and longer than expected. How could a place with more than enough vehicles sitting around the lot not have 2 extra dollies??

3) Upon returning the truck, I was missing one furniture pad and the employee at the location started a yelling match with me because of a stupid $6 pad. I told him to just charge me and he kept giving me attitude, trying to pick a fight at the lot. Is this how you treat your customers?? UNACCEPTABLE!!

I've always used U-Haul for my moves. I have never had this problem prior to getting it from the New Utrecht location. I wish I did not make that mistake that had cause me more aggravation than I need when moving yourself to a new place already requires much energy. It actually cost me more money b/c without the dollies, the move was painfully slower and I had to pay for extra days at my old place just to finish my move.

U-Haul management, PLEASE FIX THIS PLACE AND ITS EMPLOYEES!! It's a disgrace to your company name!!!
